Why itune unable to detect my 1st ipod

Hello,
I am using most update Itune under 64 bit Windows 7 , Why the iTune unable to detect my 1st iPOD ? The same system is working with my iPhone 4 ..

- Have you tried resetting your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Did you do anything to the iPod since iTunes last saw the iPod?
- Presume you used the same USB port and cable that works with the iPhone

  • ITunes unable to detect iPod nano

well, my iPod nano was working fine until yesterday when i did the iTunes update. After I went through with the iTunes update, it prompt me to update the program in my iPod nano. I thought it was supposed to help in making my life easier but it turns out to be otherwise. 1 min into the update, it started giving me error messages and finally end with a message saying files in my iPod nano are corrupted. Now, despite repeated attempts to reset nano and reinstall iTunes, iTunes is still unable to detect nano. I really need some help with this problem.

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.
    Still no joy, see these.

  • ITunes doesn't detect that my iPod is connected

I plugged my iPod touch in today so I could sync it, and the USB found sound was played, followed by a USB error sound. iTunes did not recognise that my iPod was connected and would not sync it.
I looked in Device Manager and there was an exclamation mark over Apple iPod, and the following message was displayed:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
I don't know why this is happening, as I successfully synced my iPod yesterday with no issues.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

I am having this same problem. I have been able to sync before, but now when I attach my ipod, itunes does not recognize it. The PC thinks it's another drive letter, and itunes never shows it in the list on the left.
Any ideas how to correct this?

  • ITunes unable to detect my ipad, how to fix it :(

iTunes unable to find my iPad ..someone pls tech me how to fix it.. Thanks in advance

Are you trying to connect through a hub? If so, plug it into the computer itself. iOS5 doesn't like hubs that much anymore.
Have you uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes? Sometimes the driver gets corrupted and a reinstall will fix that.
Also try different USB ports. If you're plugging it into a PC, experiment with a different PC. Plug it in and see if windows 'see's it. (even without opening itunes, the windows 'photo import wizard' should pop up or you should see the iPad in window's exploreer) If that popup happens, then your cable is good and the USB port on your iPad is good, which narrows it down to an iTunes issue.
If you can't see the ipad on another computer, your cable may be bad. Try a different cable. If you replicate the 'non seeing' with multiple computers and multiple cables then you may have a bad USB port on your iPad. If that's the case, return it because it should be covered under manufacturer's defects. However you should try all the troubleshooting first since the Apple rep or the store will have to replicate the issue in the store before they can consider exchanging.
To enable wifi sync, you have to connect the iPad via the cable, then under the 'summary' tab in iTUnes, turn wifi syncing on. If you don't do that, then wifi sync won't work.

  • My windows and iTunes is not detecting to my iPod.

I'm having trouble loading my iPod onto my computer and iTunes. I reinstalled and reset several times, but it still didn't work. When I installed my iTunes with the CD, it didn't detect my iPod. When I plugged in my iPod, the wizard window popped up, and I tried to install it that way. Then while it's installing, a "Hardwar Installation" window comes up. It says, "The software you are installing for this hardware: USB Mass Storage Device has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP", and I should STOP INSTALLATION. So, I do and the wizard says that I cannot install this hardware. I don't know what to do. Anybody have any ideas?

Hi, I'm having a similar problem, except I didn't get a "Windows Logo Test" thing. Anyway, if it asks you that again, just say yes. The iPod should do no harm to your computer, seeing how you've connected it before. Some people think the problem w/ this is that a windows update blocks the iPod from working.

  • ITunes Unable to Retrieve Songs from iPod Shuffle on newly reformatted lapt

I just reformatted my computer - reinstalling the OS on my HP Laptop (uses XP)....and now, after trying to retrieve music files, which apparently I did not save correctly, iTunes will not allow me to import the songs from my iPod shuffle. I get a message that my computer is not authorized. I followed the instructions and "authorized" my computer, but to no avail - it will not recognize my shuffle - and I cannot even get the music I put onto my shuffle from my personal CD collection - which had been placed onto my music lists prior to my reinstalling the OS. HELP........!! Please.......anyone.....if you are an Apple employee and reading this - why is it so doggone hard to get help in understanding how to use this technology???? Can I get a little help here ????????
thank you anyone -- Robert Bond

Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in iTunes enable it for disk use, this is required for most if not all the utilities listed below so they can access the files: Using your iPod as a storage drive
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and you need to check out that they work with the shuffle as well as the larger iPods. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    iGadget Windows Only
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    TuneJack Windows Only
Once you have copied all the songs back to iTunes it will be safe to "Erase & Sync" the iPod on connection to link the shuffle to this new library

  • Itunes just wont detect my new ipod nano

my window xp just wont detect my ipod neither will itunes , i had an ipod shuffle before would this be causing the problem??? plzzzzzzzzzz sum1 help

Now, let's try assigning your shuffle a different drive letter.
Disconnecting your new nano, proceed with these steps:
1 - Don't plug in your Shuffle yet.
2 - Go to "START -> Control Panel -> Admin Tools (if you don't see this, click on "classic view" button on the left panel) -> Computer Management."
3 - Click on the "Disk Management" button in the left panel area.
4 - Now, with "Computer Management" and Control Panel windows opened, connect your iPod to the computer.
5 - Right-click on your iPod's listing there (after a few moments when it gets recognized in this drive window), and click on "Change Drive letter and Paths". Then the "Change..." button.
Here's what it should look like:
Assign your iPod the letter "M" "N", "O" or the like (further along in the alphabet).
For more details, see this Support article: Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive
Then, disconnect your shuffle, and reconnect your nano to your computer.
Is it now recognized in My Computer, iTunes, etc. or not?

  • Itune unable to detect my iphone after upgrading

I have updated to the latest itune version today, afterall, itune wont be able to detect my iphone anymore, i tried several time, everytime theres a message pop up and ask me to pick whether this computer is trustful, even i picked trustful, the computer recognise my device but not the itune, therefore i can't sync.

See section 5 of TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows.
If that doesn't help it may pay to tear down and reinstall iTunes in the following manner...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in the appropriate support document which includes some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • ITunes/PC not detecting iPhone or iPod at all....

Having serious connection issues with the Apple USB Driver file.
I had to (HAD TO) reinstall Windows Vista (64bit) and updated all the updates to windows (service pack 1) then I started to re-install iTunes the latest version. Now whenever I connect my iPhone or my iPod it doesn't even get recognized by my computer or iTunes.
    I have tried:
    -Rebooting
    -using a friends iPhone/iPod cable
    -rebooting iPhone
    -reinstalling iTunes (2x)
-connecting to different USB ports on my comp
    Nothing, nada, zip, zilch.
My USB ports work fine...I plug in other devices without any problems.
So what's the deal? I wanna be able to add songs as well as update my iPhone to the new 3.0 when it comes out.

  • ITunes won't detect firmware 4.3.3 for iPhone 3GS

I've read about the problem where it doesn't download it and you have to turn off the firewall etc.  However my problem is that it just won't detect it at all.  I check for updates and it says that my iphone is update to date which is running on a 4.2.1.  I even tried to manualy do by downloading the firmware and going into recovery mode on the phone and shift clicking restore but then it says that the firmware is not compatible with my phone.
The phone is an iPhone 3GS not jailbroken running on 4.2.1.
    Running Windows 7 64bit.
I have the most recent version of iTunes.
I did the whole virus protection being off, firewall off and changing the host file thing.
Nothing seems to work and I'm not sure what else to do here.  I thought perhaps the 4.3.3 firmware wasn't for the 3GS but reading about it seems it is so I'm not sure why iTunes won't detect it.

    Try getting it from here
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/05/04/ios-4-3-3-download/
Download the version for your phone, then connect the phone to iTunes and hold SHIFT while clicking Check for Updates. You can then install the file you downloaded above.
