The memory address location at the end of each line is different everytime I preview the screen saver.
I've tried...
deleting ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.screensaver.* files
making sure each album has a cover in iTunes
running Get Album Artwork in iTunes
recreating symbolic link ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music -> ~/Public/iTunes Music/
... but doesn't help.
All other screen savers work... my usual is Flurry, and it works too, but gives invalid framebuffer operation under Console.
Nothing running/checked under Sharing.

Environment: Mac OS X (10.7.2), Macbook Pro (late 2008)So it turned out that the cause of the problem wasn't as complicated as I thought...
I had a few songs that were not added to the iTunes library, instead referenced from other locations on my hard drive.
Specifically, if you bring up the Get Info window of a song, under Summary > Where, it may show a different path than your usual iTunes Media folder location, set under Preferences.
E.g. Where: ~/Desktop/downloaded_song.mp3
I guess, this happens when you drag a song into your iTunes instead of adding it to the library, and apparently, causes problems with the Artwork Screen Saver.
Solution:
To correct it,
For those songs, go to File > Add to Library...
Then find and select the song file.
That's all I had to do to get the screen saver working... All your songs have to be added to your iTunes Library.
I think my brother was messing around with my playlist... I hope Apple nails a better way to lock-unlock/secure OS X soon (proximity sensor, biometric 3D face recognition, unique voice recognition, soul recognition, etc.).
That malloc error message still shows up; that must be an unrelated issue with the screen saver.
I hope this helps out all those suffering through the same issue with their iTunes Artwork Screen Saver. -
Screen saver no longer working after Lion upgrade.
Hi,
After standard upgrade about 2 weeks ago (mid July 2012) the screen saver no longer works. I mean I can certainly access the application and the desktop can be made to cycle through different photos etc. But when I configure the screen saver it just refuses to go into screen saver mode at all.
I'm not seeing too much occurance of this through the postings which is a bit worrisome as I'd thought this would be a much wider issue.

System crash; data recovered; screen saver no longer works 10.3.9
My iMac crashed last Fri and finally today the dealer received the hard drive and recovered my data.
So far all is working EXCEPT my screensaver which used to work beautifully with OS X 10.3.5.

The problem is twofold:
1 - sys pref > desktop & screen saver > desktop
this option still allows me to select my picture folder, but no longer scrolls through the subfolders of pictures
2 - sys pref > desktop & screen saver > screen saver
while I CAN select my picture folder, i get a "looking for slides" message and finally after about maybe 20 seconds the first picture in the folders appears but when the screen saver is activated, I only get a black screen
Any advice is appreciated.

PatI just noticed that the Shell screensaver has the same issue of taxing my CPU to nearly 200%. Very frustrating!!!

Apple TV 2.0 - Old screen saver no longer works-scrolling multiple pictures
Does anybody know if it is possible to activate the old screen saver. The old that creates a nice scrolling mosaic. Or is it gone forever, really like that one. Several people told it is still there but it doesn't work for me, after 2 minutes the traditional screen saver appears where there is one picture for the entire display.
I'm referring to the old one that has multiple pictures of varying sizes scrolling on the screen at differing speeds.

LloydI must be missing something. If I go to settings/screen saver/photos I have one directory that is selected. When the screen saver starts it shows one picture at a time from that directory and then the next picture, but the screen saver with multiple pictures scrolling at the same time doesn't work for me, just the screen saver I described. Am I missing something?

LloydI am having that problem also, except the photos will stream across the screen, like they used to, but only along the left side of the screen. The MENU stays lit up and on continually. I would like to get rid of the menu when the screensaver comes on. I have it set to come on with no time lapsed, but the MENU won't disappear and fills up the right side of the screen. I would appreciate any help.

Why do keyboard short cuts no longer work with ios6?
I use Keyboard Shortcuts very often.. Well, I did use them often with iOS5...
How is it that with iOS6, it comes with omw = on my way preprogrammed but auto correct assumes you're trying to spell "one."
This issue along with the Maps debacle is very frustrating to deal with. Is this the start of the downfall of Apple? It seems like a small detail but if a small issue like this is overlooked, what else will be forgotten about?Further to the above point. ALL of my previously used shortcuts are no longer working.

Lock screen preview no longer working with 10.3.1

We have updated all devices running work space only to 10.3.1 and the device no longer shows message previews in the lock screen.
Is this a bug?
I have turned on all instant preview options on the device.

Itunes 10 and Airplay no longer works with my Airport Express
As soon as I installed the update, my Airport Express (802.11g I think) has stopped working. You can JUST hear a faint audio signal if you turn the amp up full. Any ideas gratefully received.

Unfortunately, the volume slider on the iTunes window seems to be the master volume now, rather than just the volume for the computer. So if you mute the computer using that slider, you mute all speakers. To mute just the computer, you have to do it though the AirPlay speaker list now. Unless I'm missing a preference setting somewhere... thought there used to be something in iTunes or Airport Utility that let you toggle this behavior, but I don't see anything now... -

I updated to iTunes 10.5.3 and can no longer play music through Airport Express.

Why does my iPod Nano no longer work with JVC TH-BC3 dock?
I have a JVC TH-BC3 soundbar with a built-in iPod/iPhone dock. My iPod now displays a "non-compatible" message on the screen when I when docked in the TH-BC3. What is the problem?
I sent the question to JVC's support desk and they sent the following reply -

I understand you are experiencing difficulties with your JVC TH-BC3 recognizing your iPod Nano. We do apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. What generation is your iPod Nano? By any chance have you recently updated the iOS? If so, it may just require a soft reset. Simply press and hold the Menu and Home button until the Apple logo appears. This will not erase any information on your iPod/iPhone, simply reboot the software. Please make sure the iPod/iPhone is not connected to the unit while performing the soft reset.
I performed the soft reset and tried my iPod Nano in the dock and it now works! -
Why does my screen saver say "no photos" when they are definately there?
I just downloaded the latest OS update and my screen saver no longer works. When i go into system preferences and set up the folder to use for the picture slide show--it gives me an error that there are "no photos". But I have triple-checked and the photos are in fact there. Why doesnt screen saver see them??
UPDATE: I spoke with Apple and there is NO fix. I've set up my photos in a hierarchy as follows
Pictures FolderSlide Show Pictures Folder
Sub folder jpegs
Sub folder with jpegs
sub-folder with jpegs
Everytime i have a new batch of photos worthy of the slide show--i add a new sub-folder. This worked perfectly fine with the old OS but does not work with Mountain Lion. According to the Apple support tech i spoke with, Mountain Lion does not support going into that level of sub-folder. Essentially it is seeing the "Slide Show Pictures folder" but all it sees are the next level of sub-fodlers themselves--it cant go into the next level to see the actual photos. Sounds pretty stupid if you ask me -
My screen saver isn't working on my Apple Tv
This morning when I went to play music off my Apple Tv, I saw there was a update for the current software. (6.1) After I did the update, I noticed my screen saver pictures don't show up. But my music works and everything but when my screen saver is just a black screen of my tv. I have tried everything I can think of. I always send photots from my MacBook Pro and sync them. But it won't even pull up anything as a screen saver of anything, I have tried my photo stream, flowers, (which was a defualt), and also just my iPhoto pictures. I don't know what generation is it but I have had it a year and a half and it has worked great for as hard as I have been on it using it all the time. If anyone has any advice for me it is greatly appreciated!!!!
Seemingly the screen saver will only work with images that are on the Apple TV. Thus it basically only screensaves synced images. If you don't have any (i.e. you're only streaming) there are no images for it to show. You need to change the screensaver option from 'cover art' to something else.
This is dumb and I hope they fix it.
[The other dumb part of the screen saver is the way it blows up lower res cover artwork to max size. Surely it wouldn't be too hard to check the resolution of the cover art and not show it any larger than its max resolution] -
Album Artwork Screen saver and iTunes Match
Since joining iTunes Match, my Album Artwork Screen saver can't find any art. How do I fix this?
The artwork is evident within iTunes, but the screen saver is a black screen with a message saying that it can't find any album artwork.I have exactly the same.
Screensaver settings says: "Your iTunes library does not contain any songs with artwork" which is simply lie! ;-)

I have: repaired permissions, removed com.apple.screensaver. iTunesArtwork* in ~Library/Preferences/ByHost/.
Still nothing.
I have found that ~/Music/iTunes/Album Artwork/ has 4 directories inside:
Cache
Cloud
Download
Local
.. first 3 had random named dir (the same) with what seems to be artworks directories. Local was empty still copying there this random dir didn't help too..

ITunes album artwork screen saver possible with external library?
I just moved my iTunes library to an external drive to free up space on my MacBook, and I was wondering if there's a way to still use the album artwork screen saver when the external drive is not connected? I still have my artwork folder on my internal drive but when it is not connected, it says, "Your iTunes Library does not contain any songs with artwork." Is there a place where the screen saver info is saved? or does it only work with the library itself?

it will only work when your library could be available.
beside, if I may suggest, it is more reliable to place your library files on your external drive along with your songs than keeping the library files on the internal drive. that way, you will avoid the issue to mistakenly open your library while your external drive isn't mounted.
