  • Any hints on why key figure in BW is different from its equivalent in R3?

    Hello,
In a BW report, I tracked down a key figure which was 3000. I verified it through the tcode listcube and for the same selection criteria found the number to be 3000. The problem is that the user expected it to be 1000.
Through the transfer structure, I found out that this key figure does not come directly from R3 but rather, it is a zzkeyfigure, being populated through a program.
In CMOD (R3), I identified that zzkeyfigure was sourced from kwmeng (from the table vbap). In R3, with se16n on the table vbap with the right selection criteria, I identified kwmeng also as 1000.
Can you help me figure out why this figure (1000) in R3 is turning up in the BW backend objects as 3000?
Additional Info: the code in CMOD
    select  single kwmeng vrkme
           into  (W_MC12VC0ITM-zzkeyfigure1,
                  W_MC12VC0ITM-zzkeyfigure2)
           from vbap
           where vbeln = W_MC12VC0ITM-vgbel
             and posnr = W_MC12VC0ITM-vgpos.

    Hi Ken,
I am the one who is to defnitely advise the users as to what the cause of this proble is about but I could hardly comprehend the hints you dropped.
From the above message, how did you deduce that my data sourse is delta and produces reversals when documents change (for loading direct to a cube)?
You noted that if that is the case then "the look up value will also need to be reversed" I did not understand this. Can you explain what you meant by that?
Although I did not understand this comment you made:
" ... If you maintain your datasource in RSA6 you will find an inversion setting (next to hide field) which I believe will reverse your custom keyfigure when the record is a reversal.. "
I went into rsa6 (in R3) and ...double clicked on 2LIS_12_VCITM to see the area with the inversion column. None of the fields with checked boxes was of interest to my reseach. i.e none of the keyfigures in question was checked . Can you explain this quote and let me know what I was to expect in this this area?
Also you implied that in R3, one can decide to maintain datasource in Rsa6 or rsa3? Did I get you right? what are all the options that you can maintain daaourse in and if so, under what circumnstances do you choose one over the other?
    Thanks.

  • Why key figures are not displaying

    Dear Experts,
I am faced with a problem not encountered before. My report has multiple key figures all of which are not displayed when I run the query. However if I change the view to Tabular format (from query properties) the key figures become visible.
Request your help in resolving the issue.

    Hi,
are you hidden the some key figures? please check.
select the KF -> go to properties -> check the display tab - hide/show/hide can be shown.
if not close and open one more time in query designer.
    Thanks,

  • Promotion Planning Key Figures

    Hi,
How many key figures are recommend to support the promotion planning process?
Should I have one key figure for past promotions and another one for future promotions?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
The key figure Promotions is the sum of costs for promotions that cannot be assigned directly to a product.Technical Name: 0PROMOTIONS.
In a scenario like, if you are comparing two promotions on the promotion planning screen, when you view a single promotion, you can see the various key figures such as promotion history, promotion forecast, promotion stockouts, and released promotion demand for the relevant products. When you compare two promotions, all these key figures are displayed for both promotions.
Some of the typical key figures used in promotion planning are
    1) The Key figure with technical name 0CMNUMPRRT determines the number of promotions in which products belonging to a segment are sold.
    2) Key Figure: 0RPA_PRMQTY key figure contains the quantity to be assigned from sales for a promotion.
    3) Key Figure: 0RT_PRDCAMT key figure describes an absolute amount by which a sales price is reduced as part of a retail promotion

  • Steps to create a Restricted Key Figure

    Hi,
I am trying to create a  BEx Query and want to create a Restricted Key Figure.
    I am using BEx 7.x.
Please help me with steps to create a Restricted Key FIgure.
    Thnaks and Regards,
    Shreyas Shah

    Hi Shreyas,
Please find the step by step to create a restricted key figures.
Procedure for Defining a new restricted key figure:
    1. In the InfoProvider screen area, select the Key Figures entry and choose New Restricted Key Figure from the context menu (secondary mouse button).
If a restricted key figure has already been defined for this InfoProvider, you can also select the Restricted Key Figures entry and then choose New Restricted Key Figure from the context menu.
The entry New Restricted Key Figure is inserted and the properties for the restricted key figure are displayed in the Properties screen area.
    2. Select the New Restricted Key Figure entry and choose Edit from the context menu (secondary mouse button).
The Change Restricted Key Figure dialog box appears.
You can also call the Change Restricted Key Figure dialog box from the Properties screen area by choosing the Edit pushbutton.
You make the basic settings on the General tab page.
The text field, in which you can enter a description of the restricted key figure, is found in the upper part of the screen.
You can use text variables in the description (see Using Text Variables).
Next to that, you can enter a technical name in the Technical Name field.
Underneath the text field, to the left of the Detail View area, the directory of all objects available in the InfoProvider is displayed. The empty field for defining the restricted key figure (Details of the Selection) is on the right-hand side of the screen.
    3. Using drag and drop, choose a key figure from the InfoProvider and restrict it by selecting one or more characteristic values. See Restricting Characteristics.
You can also use variables instead of characteristic values. However, note that you cannot use the following variable types in restricted key figures for technical reasons:
Variables with the process type Replacement with Query (see also Replacement Path: Replacement with Querys)
Variables that represent a precalculated value set (see also Details)
You can use these variable types to restrict characteristics in the rows, columns, or in the filter.
    4. Make any necessary settings for the properties of the restricted key figure on the other tab pages. See Selection/Formula Propertiess.
    5. Choose OK. The new restricted key figure is defined for the InfoProvider.
Let me know if this helps.
    Thanks

  • Bex Query calc key figures in Crystal report not showing technical names.

    Hi,
I have created calculated key figures in a BEx query for which the data comes from a SAP BW cube. I have assigned each of the calculated key figures a proper technical name which I expect to see when I bring it to crystal report. When I bring that query in Crystal as a data source the calculated key figures show a wier network id names instead of the technical names. I am having a problem in using those wierd technical name in my report and my formula's as I am not able to identify what is what.
    Please urgent help requested.
    Thanks
    Mahendra

I dont have an account on such website. I will explain u the problem in detail.
When I create a calculate key figure in SAP BEx query designer I assigned a technical name to it, a meaningful one. In my case one such example is Actual_revenue is the name that i have assigned and the description is Actual revenue. When I create a crystal report from it and in that report if i create a formula.
    I get this {ZIC_COPA_Z_SALES.[Measures]-[25V1KYL4VE92X0T4OMHVYM90V]}
If u see it its a wier 25 digit name.
Instead of this I want to see
{ZIC_COPA_Z_SALES.[Measures]-[ACTUAL_REVENUE]} which is what I have given in the query. I am using the SAP BW MDX driver to connect to Bex query.

  • Can't change a Restricted Key Figure technical name in QD BEx 7.1.0

A few days ago I created a new Restricted Key Figure in Query Designer and it was autopopulated with a default technical name.  So I immediately changed it to 'ZRNPVORDINTFACTPPP_FY'.
Now, today, I realized that the 'F' in the technical name is a typographical error and I need to remove it.  I clicked the Restricted Key Figure on the left from within the list and clicked the Change/Display pencil icon in the properties window, but the Technical Name field is still greyed out.  Also tried right clicking and selecting Edit, but same problem.
Would removing all instances of where the figure is used in the query and other queries allow me to change it?  Could it be a user rights issue?
As always, thanks for the help!

    Hi,
After creating a RKF , you cannot change its technical name.
If the RKF has a lot of restrictions and creation of another similar RKF is a big process ,
you can create a copy of the same through transaction RSZC.
In RSZC , give the source and target cube name as the name of the multiprovider on which your query is built,
select restricted keyfigure ,click on execute ,  in the list which comes after execute find your KF 'ZRNPVORDINTFACTPPP_FY'
and click on transfer/copy option available.Change the technical name as you want and then click on execute. A similar keyfigure with the desired technical name will be created in query designer ,global keyfigures .
Replace the same with your Old keyfigure in report.

  • Display technical names of restricted key figures

    Hi everybody,
In a query, I would like to display the technical names of restricted key figures instead of their description as a heading. Is that possible and how can I do this?
Thank you for any help, regards, Kathrin!

    Hi Kathrin,
I believe you can do this in only one query. In the query you want to have the technical name ..Rigth click>properties> description will change the name of the field only in that specific query..not for all the queries..
Else you can run the query and make changes in workbook format..Even this should serve the purpose..

  • Authorization check on technical name for statistical key figures

    Dear experts,
I need an authorization check on the technical name for statistical key figures. I would like to avoid that local users can change/modify centrally defined key figures which follow a given naming convention.
I checked the authorization object K_KA03 for statistical key figures but this doesn't help as it only checks controlling area and activity. I also couldn't find the technical name as an authorization field.
What can I do to set up an authorization check on the technical name of the statistical key figure if it is not foreseen in the standard?
    Thanks for any ideas,

Try something in similar lines as suggested in below link:

  • Technical Design Review Question: Key Figures

I got my hands on technical design documentation for a project on COPA budget. I came up with a few questions but I will post them separately for fast closing and awards:
In the discussions of Key Figures, a table was provided showing Name, description, source field, data type and Unit. With the exception of 5 of them, all the key figures had data type as Curr(17,2).
My confusion is why all their equivalent Units were 0Currency while the 4 exceptions which had Data Type QUAN(17,2) had Units  of the form zvv90_ME, zvv094_ME, etc.
I will appreciate your thoughts on these.
    Thanks

All the Key figures which are curr(17,2) are meant to be used as Amounts which can be ties to different currencies..
Like The key figure might have a number 1,000 and the corresponding entry in 0currency might be USD which means its $1000.
You can find all the valid currency keys in the TCURC table..
    On similar lines For Key figures which specify quantity a few examples will be ;
    100 pc
    30 Hr
Where the unit is stored in 0UNIT.

  • Long text problem in BW query and Key figure name

    Hello
We're using SAP BO 4.0 (IDT) and SAP BW as a datasource. Maybe someone knows:
    1. How to change the name of keyfigure, which now appears as Formula 1, Formula 2 etc. In BW every single key figure has it's own name Sales, Purchases etc. What I'm missing here?
2.As you well might know every single char infoobject has it's own Long\Short\medium which now appears as an attribute. When I choose multiple Long definitions then the execution of a BEx query fails with 'Inconsistent answers'. In Universe Designer we can change the objects name, but how to proceed here. Do I need to change something on a Bex query level?
I'm well familiar with SAP BO, but due to lack of experience in SAP I'' ve hit astumbling block with these 2 things> Any assistance would be more than welcome
    Thanks in advace

    Hi,
for (1)  - that doesn't sound right...   i think your KF are calculated KF (CKF)  possibly with a formulae variable .. or something, which is supposed to populate the name, based on a user response ?
Or maybe you've got non-unique KF descriptions, and this is some system imposed nomenclature?
for (2)  i'm not so sure, but you may have to change the infoobject text setting, globally, in RSA1.   webi won't like non-unique labels if the keys are different.. How does it look with the default 'key and text' (medium) setting?
yes you can change the characteristic display properties in Bex query designer, but i have a funny feeling that it doesn't get consumed by webi over that API.  (it's native OLAP stuff for BEx really...)
    Good luck

  • Why do we see only values of key figures of a cube in SE11?

    Hi all,
When we view the contents of a cube in SE11 why can’t we view the characteristics also? Why are only the values of key figures visible to us? Is there any way wherein we can also view the whole contents of the cube i.e. both the characteristics and the key figures?
    Please explain.
    Thank you.
    TR.

SE11 gives you the Table View.
A Infocube is a complex strructure where data is stored in mutiple Tables...
KEy Figure Values in Central Fact Table...Characteristic SIDs in the DIM Table and these SIDs linked to the Master data table values.
So, to be able to read the values , you would need to know how data is organised in an Infocube

  • How To Change Key Figure Name

    Hi Gurus,
Is it possible to change the name of a Key Figure in Demand Planning? For example, in DP, i have a Key Figure name 'Sales Forecast'. The 'Sales Forecast' currently appears in every Planning book it was set.
Now, for alignment of understanding, I need to change the name from 'Sales Forecast' to 'Sales Demand' . Basically, i just need to change the text that appear in the Planning book and in the extracted BI reports.
Logic of Key Figure will remain the same. Is this possible? How do I go about this? I only know of how to add a Key Figure but never thought of how to change the Key Figure name/description.
    Thanks in advance!
    Nap

    Hi,
You can change it in 2 ways.
1] Go to each Planning Book in Edit mode.
In that go to a Tab called Key Figure Attributes.
Select your Sales Forecast Key figure from the dropdown   against Key Figure.
Then in Description click the radio button Free Text and give your new name which is Sales Demand.
This you have to do for all the PB in which this KF is used.
    2] Go to RSA1 : Admin Workbench
Under Modeling section go to InfoObject.
Select your KF. Double Click on it. Or right click and go to Change mode.
Then change the Long and Short Description of the KF as desired.
    Save & Activate the KF.
This will change your KF description for all the PB in which you have used the same PA.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Pushkar

  • Diff between Calculated key figure and new formula 6extra functions why

    Hi Friends
In BEx query designer we have Restricted key figure & Calculated key figure. In the case of Ristricted Key figure And new selection the difference is Global and local.
But if we come to Calculated Key figure and New Formula the difference is same global and local. But in New formula we have 6 extra function. My question is does is there any certain reason for this or SAP AG not be able to develop those functions
