Why Lightroom CC won´t start?

Hallo everybody,
i have much troubles with my Lightroom CC.
When i click on the programm app - the Lightroom-start-screen appears for one second - then nothing happens.
My previous trys:
- re-installing lightroom
- deleting the plist´s
- start the app in different user accounts (Admin and other users - no difference)
Every other CC-App starts normally
Whats the problem? Can you help me?

Open your Lightroom sub-folder by default it is located under user(your name)> My Pictures> Lightroom/
Check to see if there is a file with .lock(LOCK) extension? See the screen capture.
If there is a .lock file present delete the file and try opening Lightroom again.

i have just one question. Why lightroom 4( full version) won't import my photos directly from my Canon 7D, after connecting it to my laptop with USB( Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit)?

Hello Martin,
I have Canon EOS 7D, Win7x64, LR4. Run LR, connect camera, turn it on. Wait couple of seconds/minutes, the camera should appear under Start/Devices and printers as Canon EOS 7D. Now in LR go to File/Import photos and video and you should be able to import the pictures as on the image bellow. Canon EOS 7D does not support USB mass storage mode.

Lightroom 5 won't start

I just tried to open Lightroom to work on some pics, and the splash screen appears, then disappears and the program is NOT launching!?
Thoughts?
I did the update to Photoshop CC14 if that matters, and all that works just fine.

I Had to:
1. Delete Lightroom from the app folder
2. Empty recycle bin
3: Reinstall it all over again

Lightroom 6 Won't Start after Upgrade

Just upgraded from LR 5.7 to 6, Windows 7 64bit. Now, LR won't open. Previously, I had a separate license for 5.7, but uninstalled it in order to use the one from my CC plan.

What exactly happens when you launch Lr for the next time?
Do you have Lr 6 or LR CC?
Try signing out of the CC desktop app, then sign back in again. Sign in, Sign out | Creative Cloud desktop app

I had a hard time with the installation but now lightroom cc won't start!

Firefox3 won't start at all.

I installed Firefox 3, but it doesn't start at all.

I look through trouble shoots in Mozilar website, but couldn't find a way to solve the problem. (there were a couple of reasons why Firefox 3 won't start, but none of them was my case.)

Try the following:
Check OS version According to the Firefox homepage, Firefox 3.0 requires OS X 10.4, so users who are running 10.3 or earlier are limited to Firefox 2.x.
Start the program in safe mode Starting in Safe mode disables third-party add ons, themes, skins, and other customizations that could be hindering the program. An incompatible add-on from Firefox 2.0 could definitely prevent version 3.0 from starting correctly. There are two ways to start in safe mode:
• Open the Terminal and type this command: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/Firefox -safe-mode
• Hold the option key down when opening Firefox. This will present a dialogue box that will have options for resetting various parts of the program.
Remove all Firefox profiles Start the program with the terminal using this command: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/Firefox -ProfileManager
A window will pop up with profiles listed. Remove them and restart Firefox, and hopefully this will clear up any problems with old or corrupted profiles.
Remove the Firefox preferences file The file is called org.mozilla.Firefox.plist and is located in the user's preferences folder ~/Library/Preferences/.
Check plug-ins, add-ons Note that some add-ons are incompatible with Firefox 3.0 and will need to be updated for compliance.
For performance issues, ensure all plug-ins, add-ons, and extensions are updated, or disable add-ins and enable them one-by-one using the "Add Ons" utility in the "Tools" menu. Additionally, disable the anti-phishing features in the Firefox preferences to potentially boost performance.

IMac 20" won't start. l led 1 is on, but led2 flashes, led 3 off. Why?

My wife's original iMac 20" suddenly today went fans full on. She turned it off by holding the on/off button for some time. Now it won't start up. With the back off led 1 if on, and led 2 is flashing. I've found reference to led 2 off and led 2 on, but not flashing. I've reset the SMU several times and the led went off, but after several seconds started flashing again. Can anyone suggest why?

It's likely that your power supply has failed, but ake sure that there is no dust clogging the fans or vents.

Lightroom Won't Start!!!

I downloaded and installed lightroom 1.0 on my laptop. Works great. However, when installed on my desktop, it won't start at all. I've searched this forum and don't see anything so I'm looking for suggestion.
My system is a intel e6600 with 2gb ram. I'm running a raid 0 for my OS and wondering if this is the problem. I know cs2 had problems with holding activation setting in a raid 0 environment but I can't even get to a splash screen to enter my license number.

Look, I appreciate the help (sarcastic or not) but reading the compatibility issues, I don't read anything here that helps me to get Lightroom to start. When I double click on an icon or the application file, nothing happens.
Windows Vista Compatibility.
Windows Vista is a brand new operating system from Microsoft and has not been available in its final form long enough for Adobe to fully certify Lightroom for use on Vista. Adobe is working hard to finalize support or Vista as quickly as possible and will deliver appropriate software updates over the launch period.
Lightroom 1.0 will install and run on Windows Vista but Adobe cannot guarantee the quality of the software experience until final testing is completed.
Known issues for using Lightroom 1.0 on the Vista operating system are listed below:

Lightroom CD and DVD burning tools will not currently function
2.
Importing files directly from a Camera or Card Reader may not function properly. Please copy files to a local hard drive via the operating system before importing the files into Lightroom.

Lightroom and Photoshop Camera Raw share the same image processing technology to ensure consistent and compatible results across applications that support raw processing. These applications include:

Photoshop Camera Raw 3.7
Adobe applications must be updated with the Camera Raw 3.7 plug-in in order to ensure compatibility with Lightroom 1.0 develop module settings. Photoshop CS2 users can update the Camera Raw plug-in automatically using the Update tool listed under the Help menu. The Camera Raw 3.7 plug-in can also be downloaded and installed manually by visiting the Adobe web site: www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html
Please follow the installation instructions carefully.
Sharing Lightroom Settings with Camera Raw 3.7
By default, Lightrooms develop module settings are stored in Lightrooms database. In order to ensure that Lightroom develop settings can be viewed by Camera Raw 3.7 the settings must be written to the XMP metadata block for that file. This metadata is stored in an XMP sidecar file (Imagename.xmp) in the current image directory of proprietary raw files or stored directly within DNG files. To update images with the latest develop settings, choose the library module and select the group of target images. Choose the Export XMP Metadata to File option in the Metadata:XMP file menu.
Note: This menu option is only available in the Lightroom Library.
Viewing Lightroom settings in Camera Raw 3.7
Before working in conjunction with Lightroom and Camera Raw please set the Camera Raw preference to: Save image settings in: Sidecar ".xmp" files. By default Camera Raw will display the image adjustments exactly as performed in Lightrooms develop module.
However, at this time Camera Raw 3.7 is unable to support further adjustments to the following settings or tools:

Recovery
2.
Fill Light
3.
Vibrance
4.
HSL
5.
Grayscale
6.
Red Eye Reduction
7.
Clone/Heal
The controls currently available in Camera Raw 3.7 will continue to function normally and provide incremental edits beyond those performed in Lightroom.
The Lightroom adjustments that are not available in Camera Raw 3.7 can be cleared by choosing the Clear Imported Settings option in the Camera Raw settings menu.
Viewing Camera Raw settings in Lightroom
Raw files edited by previous versions of Camera Raw files will maintain their previous appearance when imported into Lightroom. Note: Those files must have been edited with the preference set to Save image settings in: Sidecar .xmp files in order for Lightroom to respect the previous edit. Files edited in Camera Raw after importation into Lightroom can be updated in Lightroom by choosing the Import XMP Metadata from File from the Metadata:XMP file menu.
Note: This menu option is only available in the Lightroom Library.
Additional Notes on Camera Raw and Lightroom:

Camera Raw will only read the current settings for the primary image in the Lightroom Library.

Camera Raw 3.7 continues to provide support for only raw file formats.

Flash Card Downloading and Vista
If you are using Vista.
Right click on the " Lightroom Icon" find your way to the compatibility Tab and click on run as WinXP Service Pack 2.
This seems to allow you to import in any format i.e. Raw or DNG.
NAS units and Network drives
NAS units are a high priority with the Lightroom team further information will be provided at a later date.
At present Lightroom does not directly support network drives.
Unconfirmed at present - NVidia's NView Desktop Manager may cause problems with Lightroom.
Workaround - If you have this manager (and are having problems) please disable the NVidia's NView Desktop Manager on your computer.
The option to change NView should be found by going to control panel and opening the NVidia NView icon.
Lightroom does not recognize Photoshop CS2 - Windows
Perform this at your own risk.
Here's how to fix it:
1) Run regedit.exe from start menu->run
2) Look for this folder:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\photoshop.exe
In that folder, there should be a key "Path" and its value should be the folder where Photoshop CS2 (or any other Photoshop version) is installed."
If your registry does not have that folder, created it and add a "Path" key with the value being the path to Photoshop CS2:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\
You cannot create a library in a Windows Compressed Folder
And it certainly is a good thing. You don't want to suffer the decrease in speed if you install a database into a compressed folder.

Lightroom 4.3 won't start

Window 7 64 bit
On trying to start lr 4.3 the message "The application was unable to start (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.
lr 4.0 works perfectly.
Can anyone explain what is happening and why?

Is anyone familiar with thiskind of problem:
What should I do as my iPad won't start and it does not react to home button? I can't even reboot it.

I was messing around with .kext files in the MacintoshHD and now my MacBook Pro won't start up.

I was messing around with .kext files in the MacintoshHD and moved the system.kext and two others to my desktop and deleted the originals and now the MacBook Pro won't start up. All I get at start up is the apple icon then a bunch of text shows up part of which says Mac OS version: not yet set. then the apple icon turns into the power icon and tells me to turn off the computer. I've tried reinstalling from the install DVD by holding down option when powering on and selecting the install DVD and it just goes to a white screen with the apple icon and stays like that. I didn't have the disk utility on my Mac before this happened because I deleted it to make room on my computer a while ago so I'm not sure if that's why it won't load the install DVD but anyone who knows the solution to this with out going to get it repaired would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Never mind my dad just found the original install DVD and that worked. Before I was using an install disc that Apple sent me for another issue I was having, but thanks for replying so quickly and trying to help on this Thanksgiving day!!!
