Why lion is to slow? i never had problems with leopard snow
Hello guys , I really like apple and mac os , but this time my new lion os is working very slow, some time I want to go back with leopard snow, what can I do to fix this speed problem , I have a macbook pro , and some times the sistem just freez, anyone know what can I do ?
reboot, hold cmd R. go to the lion revovery partition, go to disk utility, verify disk, repair disk, you'll probably see errors that get fixed, reinstall lion from same area after exitting out of disk utility....

I've had a Samsung network extender for over a year and it's been great. About a week ago, my iPhone 5 stopped connecting to it. I've never had problems with this. All the lights on the extender are blue, so it seems it's working fine. Any suggestions?
Oh no! Lets ensure that you are connected. Have you tried to reset the Network Extender? Are other devices able to connect to the Extender? Is your Internet service up and running?

Hi, I have a version of CS4 on my Mac. I can not longer open Raw files with it from my Canon 5D. I never had problems with it in the past. What can I do?

if so, you only need cr 3.3 or greater. what version do you have in your cs4? (help>about plugins>camera raw)

Hi there, I have been trying to burn a movie I created in iDVD. When in the "creating your DVD" it is VERY slow saying it will take over 6 hours to burn the movie. I have never had this problem before. It also won't let me minimize the screen, I just get the beeping noise that something is wrong, but no pop up window telling me what to do. Does that make sense? Also the black & orange burn wheel is spinning VERY slowly and will often just stop. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

When iDVD goes slow to ridiculously slow - it usually depends on - low free space on Start-up hard disk
• I set for a minimum of 25Gb free space
• 10Gb might work but slow
• 5Gb - slow and un-stable - DVD usually doesn't play
• <1Gb - iDVD might not even start and even so Mac OS runs into problems.
Else
Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows.
• Delete iDVD pref file - *or rather start a new user/account* - log into this and re-try
iDVD pref file resides.
Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
and is named.
*com.apple.iDVD.plist*
While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
Now restart iDVD.
• Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb
• Hard disk is untidy. Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disk (Apple’s Disk Utilities application)
• Program miss-match. iDVD 5.0.2, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK - DON’T work under Leopard
• Program miss-match. iDVD 6.0.4, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
• Program miss-match. iDVD’08 v. 7.0.1, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK will work under Leopard)
• Program miss-match. iDVD’09 v. 7.0.4, Mac OS X.5.8 AND QuickTime 7.6.4 - is OK (does work under Leopard)
• iDVD (08) v7 Locate theme folder. Move out iDVD1, iDVD 2 and eventually iDVD4 folders to desktop - re-try
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD/Themes/ zzzzzzzzzz

• Try a Cleaning CD/DVD that cleans the laser lens on the DVD burner/player

I deleted every iDVD application and folder from my boot drive,
emptied the trash and then installed iDVD 08 using the customize option
and I am up and running.
If You do a re-install be sure to get rid of all iDVD old parts AND then EMPTY the Trash-basket !

Apple Codec updated ?
Start a New Clean project - or delete project assets
No of Colors - must be set to millions
EdinSF writes that, The 10.6.3 update with an Open GL fix seems to have taken care of the problem.

I've never had problems with iTunes, but I recently moved to a SSD and now music skips.
Howdy all. I've recently replaced my Analog HDD with a Solid State drive, (Samsung 840 250GB) which is so much faster, but only problem now is when listening to iTunes, I notice serious skipping. I have reinstalled drivers for chipset, audio, optimized the BIOS, yet still experience skips while under processor load, and also when system is only playing audio. I had no problems with this prior to the SSD and all was solid. I have uninstalled iTunes, rebooted and reinstalled to no avail. I'm running a Dell Latitude E6500 with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz with 4GB DDR2 667. The SSD is a Samsung MZ-7TD250. All else on the machine is rock solid. Any advice on this? iTunes version is 11.0.4.4.
I don't have a definite answer, but by any chance do you have your hard drive encrypted? (e.g. Windows BitLocker, or a third-party full-disk encryption package)
Playing my iTunes media files on my laptop used to work perfectly. Ever since the full disk encryption software was installed, my music skips & buzzes (and sometimes just plays more slowly, which is really weird) whenever the files don't get decrypted fast enough. That's usually when other apps are also accessing files, maybe there's a disk access priority scheme that doesn't work as well when it has to funnel through the decryption driver?
Also, although my symptoms are occurring on a rotating disc drive, I've heard that there are some compatability problems between the disk encryption packages and the SSDs. -

it all started when i installed itunes, which i have never done before on this computer as its new (second hand , but i mean new as in wiped clean)
i downloaded the latest itunes software from the website, and everything went smoothly. when i dobule-clicked the icon on my home screen, a 'apple itunes software liscence agreement' window popping up, it had 'save as' 'agree' and 'disagree' buttons, naturally i clicked 'agree' the window went away, but nothing (even 30 minutes later, with the computer untouched) happened. frustrated i repeatedly opened it up, again and again, only to be greeted by the same window, and same blank home screen. even connecting my ipod wont force it open, changing cables wont work, and uninstalling seems a very distant probmise to fix this error. HELPP MEEE! I am nothing without my beloved ipod!

Do I have to reinstall my printer drivers after upgrading to 10.8? I seem to have lost the ability to communicate with either of 2 wireless printers and to download pictures from my camera. (Photoshop keeps telling me it can't find the device.) Any suggestions?
Have you repaired permissions and restarted your computer after installing ML? Checked your printer settings in System Preferences?
If Software Update does not list any updated drivers for your model printer, you should go to the printer's manufacturer website and download the drivers from there and/or contact their tech support to determine if your printer is compatible w/ML.
Read the various Knowledge Base ML printing articles. Here are a few to get you started:

Never had problems with X Fi on Vis
I've read loads and loads of these posts. Sorry that you guys are having problems. My X Fi Platinum has worked with Vista since I got it. Always had 5. sound. ASIO worked well.

Maybe I've been lucky. Who knows.
Hopefully Creative can get these issues sorted. I suspect a few are down to mobo issues and onboard components.
The X Fi is still the best all round soundcard out there. It would help if the software was up to the hardware's standard..............Maybe I am an ass, but fortunately I 'ain't got the HOLE to go with it!! LOL.

I'm using Creative's X-Fi Vista x32 drivers (2.5.0002). Also have had a go at BF2, since I've read a lot about this particular game. AGAIN. NO PROBLEMS!!!!!!!! (This also goes for Vista x64 too)

I'm 42 years old and have been screwing around with computers since I can remember. Was a programmer for 5 years too.
I know this doesn't give me anything extra over the new guys, but just be patient. Check all the drivers you can. Certain ones work differently and better for different people. This can take ages and be so frustrating.
I've checked and tested dozens of drivers and have found the magical formula that works for me.
It's been the same over the years. I've heard this or that doesn't work. More often than not people just want quick answers, instead of a wee bit of work.
And I realise sometimes things just DON'T work!!!
Anyway, in future, I'll keep my opinions to myself and just enjoy all the moaning that goes on here.

so i had a full battery on my iphone and it just shut off and now it will not turn on it has no water damage nothing
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).

So how do I fix this? How do I get this to go away? It's prompting me for a password that I haven't ever set up!
I have the same problem with three pop-up prompts:
(1) com.apple.iCloudHelper wants to use the "login" keychain. Please enter the keychain password.
(2) CalendarAgent wants to use the "login" keychain. Please enter the keychain password.
(3) AddressBookSourceSync wants to use the "login" keychain. Please enter the keychain password.
I can enter my login password and the prompt goes away for a little while, but eventually returns. Or I can click on "Cancel" many multiple times and it goes away for a little while, but returns again.
I want a solution too and hope this additional information will help. -

Neither works keeps closing with message reappearingWith Safari launched go to: Safari>Safari Preferences>Extensions and if you have any installed switch them all 'off' using the switch at the top right of the window. Also whilst in preferences make sure you don;t have Glims listed in the tabs at the top of the window. If you do, there is an uninstaller available here:

Once you've turned off the Extensions quit Safari, relaunch and test.
If you do have Glims installed Safari needs to be quit when you run the uninstaller.
If Safari works with the Extensions set to off, switch them back on but disable each one individually (in Safari Prefs>Extensions) and then enable them one at a time and test.
On other thing - possibly important - have you installed Trusteer's Rapport, which is often pushed at you by banks as being 'added security' software. If so, it is a possible cause of the problme as it seems to wreak havoc for some users with otherwise healthy Macs. -
