  • Why can't I download OS X Mavericks? The download option is malfunctioning. I already checked that my mac version can have free upgrade. I click download, but it just doesnt do anything.

Why can't I download OS X Mavericks? The download option is malfunctioning. I already checked that my mac version can have free upgrade. I click download, but it just doesnt do anything. I went to purchase tab, clicked "download" next to the app but still nothing happens. It's not internet problem because everything else on the app store works. The only thing not working is Mavericks downloading and I don't know why. Please help.

To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
    MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space
Since Mavericks requires 8GB's or more of free disk space, control click the MacintoshHD icon on your desktop or open the Finder, right or control click startup disk in the Sidebar on the left then click Get Info.
You'll see Available and Capacity. Make sure there's at least 15% available disk space.
If installed, disable anti virus software before downloading Mavericks.

  • Why won't iPhoto download after i have bought it from the app store and installed mavericks

why won't iPhoto download after i have bought it from the app store and installed mavericks?

Sorry no mind readers here so you have to tell us details, context and any error messages - just stating an abstract problem that could have thousands of causes is not enough
What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? what has changed since it worked? How are you trying to open it (clicking on the icon in the Dock, double clicking on the application in the applications folder, ???)?
Anything else you can tell a total stranger who can not see you or your computer to let them assist you?

  • Why can't I download Mavericks?

So I've been trying to download OS X Mavericks from the app store, but it won't let me. Every time I click on the download icon, nothing seems to happen. It shows up in my "purchases" but when I click the download button there, once again nothing happens. I made sure I have plenty of space to be able to download it, so I can't really find a reasoning for why it won't download.
Am I doing something wrong? How can I fix this issue?

The reason I bought a late 2008 Macbook pro is it is the only laptop Apple ever produced with a hatch to quickly change the hard drive. So having had a problem loading Mavericks, I swapped in an old 80 GB HD, formatted it and loaded Snow Leopard, then upgraded it to f10.6.8 just to test the download. I also have a new EE/Orange Brightbox router and linked it using an ethernet cable for speed. So no other programs on the disk and therefore no other issues.
I still can't download Mavericks, the little icon turns for a second or two and then gives up as I have.
I have had two previous Mac laptops, both fell to pieces after a few years. This current one the plastic hinge broke when it slid off my lap. Cost £400 because you need a new screen. So much for all this aluminium stuff when the hinge is plastic.
I love Macs but hate the stupid cosmetic design, which is plain impractical. Give me a robust laptop with decent allen key or screw hatches. Also one that's deep enough at the back at least to host a couple of quarter inch jacks and XLRs plus an inbuilt sound card and Full HD 1900 x 1080 screen, no less, no more. Am I the only person that this makes any sense to?
I also thought about buying an Imac but I see changing the hard drive is a huge problem. I guess I'll go for an Apple Mac Mini and a third party screen just because the Mini has SCREWS!!!

  • HT201364 Why can't i download maverick when my mac comes with it preinstalled?

I bought a new Mac Book Pro with OS X Maverick. Why can't i download the installer from App Store?

Yes Mavericks can be downloaded but is it the *right* one is what Tuttle was getting at.  Don't take our world for it, take it from Apple:

  • Itunes isn't downloading i have put in my email and why ins't it downloading?

    itunes isn't downloading why isn't it ??????????????????

    Hello there, Tearza.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some great recommendations for contacting Apple Support if you are unable to respond to your security questions for access to your account:
Apple ID: All about Apple ID security questions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665
Particularly useful information is provided in this section:
What should I do if I don't remember the answers to my Apple ID security questions?
If you forgot the answers to your security questions, try answering them at least once to see if you can get them right, even if you're not sure you remember the answers. If you're confident that you can't remember them, try one of the following:
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID password, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password, contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
Note: If you forgot your password and answer your security questions incorrectly too many times in a row, you will be unable to try to answer your security questions for a period of time. During that time, you will not be able to reset your password and will not have access to your account.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

I have downloaded and installed the iPhoto tool to update so my pictures transfer over, but it's still telling me I need to update. Any suggestions why this isn't working for me? I have a Macbook Pro.

You have to download and RUN the iPhoto library upgrade - then launch iPhoto - If you had iPhoto '08 or earlier (version 7.x.x) - the upgrade is installed in the utilities folder of your Applications folder
