Why must I often enter my password?

So, I launch Settings on my iPad and poke iCloud in the left pane (it shows my email address for iCloud).  On the right pane it shows my name and email address in the first block.  Then Storage underneath, the iCloud Drive, etc below that.  On the top block there is a ">" symbol.  I poke that and it slides right to another screen.  If everything is working I see contact information and so on.  But more often than not I don't see that and am forced to enter my iCloud PW.  What is that about?  If I have to frequently enter iCloud PW then iCloud becomes a pretty useless feature, due to the hassle factor.  How do I keep everything connected to the cloud?

  • Why must I re-enter my password on almost every yahoo mail action.

In Yahoo Mail Classic about every 1-2 actions, reply, send or open in a new tab, I am required to re-enter my password. When I re-enter my password, if I am sending or forwarding, I lose what I have entered and get a blank new email. This only happens in FireFox. When using Explorer I have no re-enter password requests. I don't have any passwords saved in anything. I use clear history and cookies when closed. I am using 13.0.1.

  • Why must I keep changing my password?

For several months, I would receive a dialogue box when opening iTunes on my Mac. The box is asking for my appleID and password, which are being auto-filled but my password had been entered incorrectly. I'd have to enter my password and it would be fine. The night that I downloaded ios7 and iTunes 11.1, the auto-filled dialogue box apeard again and I had to change my password because it "had been entered incorrectly." I changed it....on my Mac, two iPhones, two iPads, one iPod touch, and two appleTVs. (Whew!) Also, several applications on the phones would individually prompt for the new password. Tonight, I opened iTunes on my Mac and the same dialoge box appeard. I entered the new passowrd from Septemer 18th, and I was again forced to change. Now I'll have to change the password on EVERY APPLE DEVICE AGAIN! Why is this happening? What can I do to make it stop? I don't want to be made afraid to open iTunes on my Mac for fear that I'll have to change my password over and over.
(I suspected perhaps there was a settings on my iTunes that caused it to always ask for my appleID and password, and that my Mac was auto-filling it incorreclty. But I can't seem to find a preference or a setting that appears as if it would cause that.)

  • Why must I repeatedly enter my master password after installing Firefox Sync and is there a setting to eliminate the need to do this?

Ever since I installed Firefox Sync I am repeatedly required by a pop-up box to enter my master password in whichever of my PCs I am using at the time. That is very annoying and I don't understand why the password is required after initial setup since the Firefox Sync Key is supposed to be unique.

  • Why must my password must be re-entered after so few seconds of inactivity?

I find that only a few seconds of contemplation cause me to have to re-enter my password to return to the page I was editing. Sometimes the password retuns me without a complete sign-in. my browser is MozillaFirefox 3.6.** but internet explorer 8 is in my system. 'Crash' may be the wrong term. What I called 'Crash' is a few seconds of inactivity.

    I have found a solution.
For all they wont use a etoken to surf.
Go to extras, options then extendet and go to cryptographic module and unload the etoken. To unload the etoken you must selekt etoken not the name of the token.
i have translate the menu names from german to english.

You have SCADS of extensions and the things running. McAfee, Intego, Orbicule, CleanMyMac, and others I've not ever even heard of. My first recommendation would be to remove all of these and see if things improve.

I recognize the "lets" but the 4267 I don't know where it came from.  Why I'm I all of the sudden asked to enter a password to publish anything on the web site?

In the left hand column of iWeb, select the name of your web site.  It should be listed at the top, and indented below it are all your web pages.  This should display the "Site Publishing Settings".
Ensure that "publish to" is set to FTP server, then look in the FTP server settings info area.  There is a spot there for a password.
This password is provided to you by your FTP server.  If you can't remember what this password should be, then you need to contact your FTP server.

Any idea why I can't purchase stuff off either iTunes or AppStore? I am getting a message saying unknown error has occurred immediately I enter my password.

    Brett,
Well done getting the wireless network secured.
You have to precede the (hex) password with a '$' in Mac OS, to tell the Internet Connect dialog box that you are keying a hex password (rather than ASCII). This is because the Mac has detected that the network is WEP protected, and leaves it to you to decide how you want to key the password.
As an alternative, in Internet Connect (or from the AirPort icon menu), you can elect to join an "Other" network. If you select your network again, it'll come up with "WEP Password" as the option of Wireless Security. You can change this to "WEP 40/128-bit hex" and then not have to precede your password with the '$'.
Alternatively, you could tell us the make and model of your wireless router and we can tell you how to set, and use an ASCII password. From your 10-character hex password, we can see that you're using 40/64-bit WEP. Non-Apple routers can be a bit fussy when using ASCII passwords with 40-bit WEP (don't worry, this is also true for Windows PC's using 40-bit WEP too), but we can talk you through it.
As a final alternative, as you have such a whizzy Mac, as long as your wireless router supports it, you could use WPA security, and never have to worry about ASCII / hex / '$', etc. Older Macs (particularly original AirPort cards - not AirPort Extreme - and OS9) were limited to 40-bit WEP.
