Why my app store shows the update for other account which i don't know
Why my app store shows a Itsy updates for [email protected]? I've no idea about what it is.
That is her standard answer to this known problem. And it is not a bug!
You have a pirated app that is from the MAS and the app has been cracked with the MAS receipt from an app acquired with this person's MAS account. Get rid of your pirated apps to get rid of the issue.
Whichever was that last app that you downloaded for free from somewhere, rather than paying for it in the MAS, is likely the culprit.

App Store shows an update for App I didn't purchase
App Store shows an update for App I didn't purchase.
Below is a snapshot of how it looks like.
Why is there an update when I don't even have the app ?
If I click the Update button , the message I got is this :
and I have no idea what's going on.Thanks DahVeed, it all make sense now. No-wonder someone elses e-mail ID was showing up.
I never advocate the usage of pirated apps, as being a software developer myself I understand the difficulty of creating apps and when people use it without purchasing them.
I can confirm that the app is now deleted from the external hard disk (which belongs to my friend). -
App store shows new update for program I did not purchase
App store shows new update for program I did not purchase. This is "CodeBox". When I push button to download update it shows "uknown error". For normal other updates - "update all" not working anymore.
How to delete this line from updates section now.The problem was finally solved. I am writing very simple solution for those who may have same issue. I tried 1st solution proposing to exclude HDD from Spotlight search and then to restore it (delete from exceptions). It worked for some time and removed notification, however later it appeared again. Then I has started thinking that it was caused by data inside some installed SW and it has been proved later. I have started excluding from Sportlight not all HDD but by folder, searching for the problem area. I have discovered that folder Games was causing the issue. Then I have started to delete installed games one by one and have found Game with was triggering this notification (for other SW!). Problem was fixed after deleting this game. Other deleted games could be easily restored from recycle been.

App Store shows Twitter update again and again
Hello boys and girls.
My Mac App Store shows the update 2.0.1 for Twitter again and again. I downloaded it 10 times again and it didn´t go away. Twitter is on 2.0.1 and the MAS shows the update again. On my iMac there wasn´t a problem with this update.
Sorry for my bad english skills. I´m a german guy. I hope you understand my problem.
Regards
m1LLoWithout the Twitter app installed the Mac App Store continues to display Twitter as being available to receive an update — this to me sounds like Cached information that is corrupt.
Are you certain that you removed the following files:
Remove all files in the Caches folder from the following 2 locations:
Macintosh HD/Library/Caches
System/Library/Caches
You might even want to remove Caches from your home folder but I am certain it's not there because the App Store is a system wide applications and it install app into the Applications folder which is also system wide. As an addendum to this, I am also convinced that if you log into another user account on your mac you will continue to see this update offered.
Also remove
~/Library/Caches
You must restart your mac immediately afterward. There is no point attempting to empty the trash because these cache files are likely active.

IOS 7 App Store showing old updates / showing updates and not letting me install
I noticed two issues with the iOS 7 App Store starting last night. I'm not sure if it's a temporary issue, since the issue seems to be server-side on Apple's part, or if it's a long-term issue.
I am running iOS 7.0.2 on an iPhone 5s. I do not have automatic updates for apps turned on (I like checking what an app is updating before installing it). I have tried force quitting the App Store app and restarted my iPhone.
The first thing I noticed last night was that the App Store showed an update for Hulu Plus on my iPhone but wouldn't let me install it. On my iPad (3rd-gen) running iOS 7, it let me install it. This morning, it let me install it. After, I noticed another badge on my App Store app icon with a "1", and it said there was an update for 94 Seconds, but wouldn't let me install it either. Then when I expanded the details, I noticed the date on it was from July 30, 2013. I already had that update installed over 2 months ago. Screenshots for that issue are below.
Is anhyone else experiencing anything similar? Any solutions? Thanks for the quick response.
I do indeed seem to recall that happening with an app previously.
However, this time it was two apps (Google and Tivo). I figured they'd get flushed out when more updates (for other apps) hit the App Store. However, when that happened just now, while it did show "update" for those old updates instead of "open", I could not select "update all" up top and had to press update next to each of the (now 4) apps. The real issue though is that it (of course) can't further update Google and Tivo and gets stuck. So I can't update any of my apps now.
When I went back into App Store I then got the blank screen that shows nothing under updates but the "Purchased" slider up top. I thus had to reboot. I can get back into the App Store, and got an error regarding the Tivo update not being available (this was a Jan 10 or so update that had already been installed), but there it still sits in the updates. Interestingly, Google did "update" and fall off the badge indicator. I selected only my true/new updates, so now I'm just stuck with a false Tivo update/badge.
I should add that I am on 7.0.4.
EDIT: Tivo "updated" after the reboot too. So, bottom line is that you're (I'm) stuck with the false updates until a real update comes through, and then I have to go through that song and dance to clear out the false flags. -
The Mac App Store shows an update available for iMovie but when I click "update" it gives me this message, "The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed." What can I do to update this program?

My App Store shows 3 updates but when I go to it the screen is blank. It will not give me the option to update all or one at a time, it doesn't show the apps at all.
Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. This is a problem that Apple has to fix. If you look around the forum, you will see many, many discusssions about this and they have been going on for a few days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this is a workaround - for the time being.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. -
My iPad mini shows 10 updates in the App Store-on the updates icon, but when I click it-the screen is blank. Help!!
It's a long running glitch, as the hundreds of threads on this topic demonstrate.
You can wait it out and wait for Apple to fix the servers or you can go into your purchased tab and manually download each update (you'll find the app icons with little update banners on them.
Alternatively, if you sync with a computer, you can use the iTunes on your computer to download the updates then sync them onto your device. -
My iPad II show I have apps to update but when I go to the App Store and the update tab it is blank and doesn't allow me to update anything
You can either wait it out or a work around has been found. In the app store click on the purchased tab. Your apps should come up and you can manually download each app (the apps that have updates will have banners on them)

I downloaded the new version of pages about a month ago. Today I tried to open documents that I created and saved with the new version and received a message that I needed to download the new version. The app store shows the download. HUH?!?
I'm not sure what you mean by it making accessing files more complicated. I have both Pages 4.3 & Pages 5.1 icons in my Dock as well as Numbers 2.3 & Numbers 3.1. I continue to use the iWork '09 versions for my everyday needs. As long as the new versions are in your Applications folder & the '09 versions in the iWork '09 folder, Software Update will not have a problem updating them even if Apple should come out with a new update for the '09 versions.
Because I have moved the new versions to an external drive & renamed the apps because I want '09 to be the default apps, I do have to remember to move them back to my applications folder & restore the original names before updating. But since you like the new versions this "complication" doesn't apply to you. -

Now what to do help me pleaseiCloud isn't syncing them on your phone. You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone. You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account. iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac. When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account. You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar. If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded. -
I purchased iPhoto after installing Yosemite, but App store shows the download is "waiting"
I purchased iPhoto after installing Yosemite, but App store shows the download is "waiting", with a greyed out box that says pause.
Hi exyankee,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, an app is stuck on waiting. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.
