Why my browser load only if I move the mouse?

My browser load only if I keep moving my mouse. It happen when it has to load embedded videos and load other websites. Plus it always crush when I'm trying to open PDF pages. I always be very loyal to firefox, but if the problem persist i would have to change browser and I don't really want to...

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • What does it mean when things load only if I move the mouse?

    Well, sometimes after a prolonged session the web doesn't load unless I move my mouse around a bit.
    For instance,
    I click a link to something, the tab icon shows a sign of loading for about half a second and then it just stops.
    If I move the cursor with the mouse (or trackpad), the loading continues and finishes.
    This problem resolves itself when I restart Firefox, but I still want to know its cause and how I can prevent it.
    I don't know what to make of this, and the circumstances are odd enough that Google is not helping me figure this out for myself. So I'd like to know if anyone can help me out.

  • Firefox appears to stall, then recovers as I MOVE THE MOUSE

    FF seems to stall on browsing anywhere. When I move the mouse it 'unstalls' and completes the DL or refreshes the page or whatever it was suppose to be doing when it stalled.
    No error messages at all.
    Weird!!

    hey, just to keep you updated - there is now a fix available for firefox 25, which should address the particular problem of pages not loading unless the mouse is moved.
    you can either choose between switching back to the firefox 25 release (the download link is at [https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/channel/#firefox]) or stay with the beta version - the latter option has the advantage of receiving new features weeks before they are landing in the regular Firefox versions and being able to sound an early alarm in case such serious regressions are occurring, so there is enough time fixing problems ahead of a general release and minimize the general impact.

    if you have downgraded to firefox 24 to work around the issue, please go to ''firefox > options > advanced > update'' and turn automatic updates back on. then go to ''firefox > help > about firefox'' which should trigger the update to firefox 25.0.1.

    Since upgrading to OS X 10.8.2 a few days ago, Safari will suddenly zoom in on web pages (happens on multiple sites) when I scroll or move the mouse -- any one know why and what to do about it? Thanks!

    It really isn't a well thought out 'gesture' when a normal scroll action can result in an unwanted zoom but disabling SmartZoom wasn't an option for me—one of those with eyes that tire easily when reading very small text on a 27" display.
    For a while I used command-+ and command-'-' to read small text but that isn't supported in some apps and for Safari it often leaves the browser in an less than perfect state when moving to the next page.  I also tried option scroll to zoom the whole display but that was not desirable, either.
    I finally settled on leaving SmartZoom enabled and remembering to double tap with one finger whenever the undesired zoom happens. It happens so often that the double tap is almost a reflex action for me.

    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
    Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
    When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
    If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    *Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Wait cursor appears only the first time... unless I don't move the mouse!

    Ah yes, another cursor problem:
    I am setting a wait cursor in my main JFrame when a key-release or a menu item click is detected (the time-consuming action is then triggered in a child JInternalFrame), and so far, it's been working great.
    Then I noticed that the wait cursor only appears the first time the time-consuming action is called (or more precisely, if I never move the mouse, it happens every time as it should, but if I move the mouse, it only happens the first time! Ah, and I noticed I CAN move the mouse but ONLY when it is in the form of the wait cursor!).
    Strangely, I can see the cursor blink briefly when the action is done, precisely when it should be changing back to the default cursor... what gives? If I close the child internal frame and re-open it, I can get the wait cursor again the first time only (again, unless I keep the mouse still, in which case it works great - argh).
    Any ideas would be deeply appreciated!
    Cheers!
    PS - Here's a snippet of how we set the cursor, this is code in our main JFrame, called via either a keypress event or clicking on a menu item - mostly it's stuff that is unrelated, and we simply set the wait cursor as the very first line, so why in the world would it skip that line???? (the rest of the lines do in fact get executed):
    private void refreshMenuItemActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {     doRefreshMenuItemAction(); }
    private void doRefreshMenuItemAction() {
    this.setCursor(new Cursor(Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR));
    JDesktopPane desktop = (JDesktopPane)this.getContentPane().getComponent(0);
    JInternalFrame activeFrame = desktop.getSelectedFrame();
    try {
    if ( activeFrame instanceof IDataDrivenForm ) {
    ((IDataDrivenForm)activeFrame).refresh();
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    this.setCursor(new Cursor(Cursor.DEFAULT_CURSOR));

    almost...
    I now see that glasspanes are an answer to that question. I got it to work (almost) using a glasspane (see code snippet below). But what I can't quite grasp now is why this code does not work when I call it from a child (contained) dialog (and possibly internal frames as well)??? When I do so, the dialog freezes (the button I pressed doesn't even release) and the cursor does not change to waiting. This time I'm really not sure where to go next....
    I appreciate anyone who has read this far, and would really be indebted to you for some good advice!
    PS - Here's the nifty code, placed in my main JFrame class. I just substituted "this.setBusy(true);" for every place I was manually setting the WAIT_CURSOR in the past (and of course with matching setBusy(false)):
    public final void setBusy(boolean isBusy)
    Component glassPane = this.getGlassPane();
    Cursor theCursor = isBusy ? Cursor.getPredefinedCursor( Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR ) : Cursor.getPredefinedCursor( Cursor.DEFAULT_CURSOR );
    this.setCursor( theCursor );
    glassPane.setCursor( theCursor );
    glassPane.setVisible( isBusy );

  • Nothing will load unless I move the mouse or type.

    Ive used Firefox for quite a long time with no problems, upon updating last week to Firefox 4 Ive been encountering a pretty annoying problem.
    After having Firefox open for anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes a problem will arise that pages, images, gifs, video, anything will not load unless i move the mouse or type. Its literally as if a pause button is hit and even the little animated loading icon on page tabs will freeze up and only animate if I move the mouse/type.
    So far I have:
    -Uninstalled/Reinstalled
    -Updated/Removed Addons
    -Ran in Safe Mode
    Nothing has worked so far, even all the searching has only come up with tons more people with this problem and no solid answers.

    It's a plugin. I disabled everything I didn't use, and it went away.

  • Why can i see only one picture in the illustration windows with iTunes 10.5.1?

    why can i see only one picture in the illustration windows since iTunes 10.5.1?

    Assuming Apple doesn't eviscerate the files of the secondary graphics with another upgrade, there could be a plug in that reads the graphic and runs along side iTunes..we should get someone or Apple to program an alternative If we have to accept this downgrade in iTunes proper.
    I've developed a quick workaround, and am still hoping Apple will fix this!
    Go To Get Info on the tune you want to see secondary artwork for.
    Go To the Artwork tab
    Drag the back cover to the desktop, and it will create a new jpg you can open with quick viw or prieview where you can see it large!
    you end up with a lot of jpgs on the desktop to discard!

    Hello darkhawk,
    Thank you for the recommendation.  I somewhat understand what a MS DOS disk is, but I'm not sure how to go about creating one. I've seen where you can use a program, like Rufus, to create a usb one  - but I'm leery about using 3rd-party programs (especially ones I'm not familiar with). I've come across a couple of 'how-to' tuts, but they didn't clarify what files (if any) I would need to include on the disk (for my particular situation). Right now I don't have any blank cds, nor any extra flash/thumb drives - wish I did, but hadn't needed these for years. There has only been one other time where I needed to re-install Windows, but that was over 15 years ago - I did it through BIOS, reformatting my drives, and then reinstalled via the Windows XP disk. Windows 8 is an entirely different breed, which has left me feeling a bit stumped, at times. If there was a way I could perform it (successfully), similar to the first time I did it years ago, I'd give it a try - but at the same time, I'm a bit reluctant, because if it doesn't work, then I'm stuck without any internet access to get further help.
    Ask and ye shall receive. This should be doable in Windows 7 and Windows 8 on another PC. I recommend using a USB Flash drive like in this tutorial, but I'm sure you could use something else.
    If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

    Also very useful for sorting out virus's as long as it's downloaded and made on another PC that is virus free......

  • When I change pages it takes for ever to load, but if I move my mouse around it loads fast

    Fire Fox has been acting weird lately. Every time I change to a new page, it just sits there, does not change some times for as long a a minute or two. The Indicator in the Tab shows no motion.
    If I move the mouse around in the windows it will open almost instantly. It does this for every page. I didn't notice this in the last version of Fire Fox. Just after the last update to 4.1

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]

    Are you trying to use a 32bit version (I did not even know there is one for Photoshop CC 2014)?
    If so – why?
