  • Why can I not read PDF files from btcloud.

    Hello,
I have put some ebooks in PDF format onto Btcloud and successfully read them on an android device in Adobe. When I try the same on the ipad it tells me the format is not supported.
    Any one know why.

  • Why can I not open PDF-files in InDesign CS4?

    Hi,
Well then, as I wrote in the headline... Why can I not open PDF-files?
I get a notification that says that either the file is already open (which it's not) or it is missing a plug-in thingy for this kind of file.
So, how do I know which plug-in thing I should chose from Adobe which will solve my problem?
Could it be enough just to update the program? I tried with 6.0.6. upgrade but it wouldn't even open up. I'm not so good at this type of computerproblems (choosing upgrades, plug-in etc.). The program is not upgraded for a long time, unless it do it automatically, but I think we've chosen it not to....
    Please help!
    /S

  • Adobe Reader will not read pdf files on internet

I have lastest version of Adobe reader on a new mac running OS 10 Maverick. This has latest safari (7.0.1) as my internet browser. My adobe reader reads pdf files already present on my desktop, but will not read pdf files from the internet even after I allow "trust" this site. Can anyone help me to resolve the issue please. Is it a bug that Adobe has not solved??

Sorry if you did not understand my instructions.
Regarding bullet point 4: Check Reader >Preferences > Internet > Web Browser Options> The blessed app should be " /Applications/Adobe Reader.app"
You specified that you don't see the path, then it might be some problem in your installation.
Please see the attached image and let me know what you see on your system.
Regarding bullet point 5: Load PDF in Safari.
This means open any PDFs in Safari web browser.
Please make sure the below highlighted plug-ins are installed on your system by going to the specified path. And make sure the version of the below two plug-ins are 11.0.06. You can find the version by selecting the plugin and hit Command+i.
Go to your Main Hard Disk/Library/ Internet Plug-Ins/ AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
Go to your Main Hard Disk/Library/ Internet Plug-Ins/ AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Please let me know if these help.
    Thank You

It says "can't read PDF files with this browser running. Exit and try again."
I have Adobe 9.3.2 installed. It didn't give me this message with earlier versions of Adobe.
Is there a way to go BACKWARDS?
How do I save the PDF files so I can close them and view them without using the browser?
== I downloaded later versions of Adobe.

I have tried everything,Foxit and Foxit updates, Gone to Adobe......you think of it I have tried.

Download Internet Explorer 8 and use that

  • Mountain Lion not opening pdf files in Mail

Since installing ML I cannot open pdf files in Mail. I have updated Adobe Reader to the latest version, but no joy. I desperately need to open these files. Should I just give up and forward them to my wheezy old Sony running Windows XP?

Also having this issue and it's a bit of a headache especially when removing Acrobat reader is not an option, i prefer to actually have my PDF files open from Mail in Acrobat Professional (not reader). Tried re-installing, no dice.

  • I can not open PDF files in mail on iPhone 6plus

hhas anyone had a problem opening PDF files in mail.  I get a grey screen

Try a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
    then check again.

  • Why can I not open PDF files using adobe reader in firefox?

When I try to read a PDF file with adobe reader the file looks like it starts to load, I see in the tool bar the page count but the file never opens.

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use another application like the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications".
You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.
You can check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref on the about:config page and remove the application/pdf part if present or reset the pref to the default via the right-click context menu.

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
You may want to check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so involved preferences can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

  • Why after upgrading to iCloud does my CD drive selectively not read .pdf files but works otherwise?

I recently upgraded to OS-X 10.7.4 and icloud and after doing this my CD drive on my macbook pro no longer sees some .pdf files on my computer. The disc in question works fine on my other computers so there is not an issue with the disc. I have upgraded adobe reader as well but this made no difference. Any solutions I could try please?

Hi Mrlifemusic, and a warm welcome to the forums!
What Brand/Model Optical did you install?
What do you have set in System Preferences>CDs & DVDs to open it with?
If you have Disk Utility open when you insert a CD, can it see it? Mount it? Do a Info on it?

  • Why can I not print PDF files

I installed Adobe Acrobat AIR and am unable to print PDF files.  Can you tell me why?

Do you have Acrobat installed? Can you open it and load a PDF? If so, select print and select the desired printer. If this does not work, then tell us the error message you get. It would help to know the OS and version of Acrobat. Air is a separate product (and I still don't know what it does, sorry).

  • Why can I not open PDF files any more?

Why can I not open up most of the PDF files that I receive via email. This has not been an issue before. Do I have to renew something or reload?

    Hi Alan,
Please download PDF reader if not already.

  • Why can I not print PDF files in color?

    Windows 7 Ultimate (x64
    Adobe Reader 10.0.11
    HP Color LaserJet CP1215
I downloaded U.S.IRS tax Form 1040 for 2014 from Forms and Publications (PDF).  All the text is black. Much of the form has a pale green background that does not extend to the edge of the page.  There are fill-in areas that have a pale purple background.  At least that is the way the form appears when I view it on my PC.
When I try to print the form in color, however, all the text is white except for the word "Form" in the upper-left corner.  The green background prints as solid black.  The fill-in areas are white, which makes the white text invisible.  (When I print merely in black-and-white, the text is black, the green background is a very light gray shadow, and the fill-in areas are white.  Thus, the form looks okay.)
Also, if I attempt to print a PDF file that contains color images, the images print strangely.    Images are stretched horizontally and then cut off at right edge of the actual image box.  Furthermore, text is white against a background of alternating, narrow, vertical, black and white stripes.  An example is page 8 of the AVG 2015 User Manual from http://download.avgfree.com/filedir/doc/AVG_Free/avg_free_uma_en_2015_15.pdf.  (Again, printing this in black-and-white, the text is black, the background is white, and the image appears as an appropriate black-and-white approximation of the actual image.)

Do you have Acrobat installed? Can you open it and load a PDF? If so, select print and select the desired printer. If this does not work, then tell us the error message you get. It would help to know the OS and version of Acrobat. Air is a separate product (and I still don't know what it does, sorry).

  • Why can I not open pdf files in Safari? All I get is a black screen.

Suddenly Safari will not allow me to open pdf-files, and I have gathered from other discussions that it is a problem. I removed Adobe Reader, to see if Preview would kick in but it did not work. Any suggestions?
    Thankful for any ideas.

    Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Adobe reader9 was installed monday, but now I can not read pdf files in windows mail

I have windows vista. last saturday a popup asked if I wanted to install Adobe9. I clicked OK but later the install failed. talked with adobe support on monday and they installed adobe9 on my pc. however, when emails are sent to me with an attachment that is a PDF file, I can not open the attachment...it loads Acrobat.com instead.
I think there is a incompatiblity between mail and this new adobe.
l tried to reload adobe 8.2 but the install fails because it say I have a higher version (9).
any help would be greatly appreciated since these attachments are info for my home business.
    thank you, larry

    thank you for your response.
this procedure does work and I appreciate your help. I just wish that the
PDF file could be opened in mail like it did before the new version was
loaded. but in the mean time I have your work around.
I plan on re-contacting adobe and see if they can un-install 9 and then I
    can install 8.2.
    regards, Larry
