Why my i pad will suddenly shut down itself ?

why my ipad will shut down itself

No clue.
Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it hasn't been, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • IBook will suddenly shut down and not turn back on

My iBook (apporx. 5 yrs. old) will suddenly shut down while I'm working and not back on. Most of the time after it's been turned off for days it won't turn back on, although it's plugged in and the battery is charged 100%. But on the occations it does power up, everything works properly. Could my battery be completly shot?
    iBook   Mac OS 9.0.x

I too have that problem, but since apple replaced my battery for free, it still does that. I once heard that once your iBook reaches a certain temperature, it will just turn off the screen. usually when it happens to me, I just restart my machine the old way (control-apple-power), but it isn't so good either from what I understand! it is a bad way to work, but until apple fixes the bug, we'll just have to live!
(ps) is there any reason you still run os 9 (cause it is officially discontinued as of 2004)? you should be able to purchase mac OS X (10.2 or 10.3) from ebay or your local mac repair shop (we fix macs in palo alto, ca probably sells it still) I just wanted to inform you of this since you obviously had no idea!

  • My i pad is suddenly shutting down a dark curtain comes from left to right

Whatdo you do when your i pad suddenly shuts dowm with a dark curtain that closes over your pad. It acts like the cover and shuts if off. Is there a setting I have changed or something?

You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: Data will be lost.

  • Early 2009 suddenly shuts down or won't startup

Hi, I've recently been having some problems with my mac pro 2009. It will suddenly shut down and won't restart or if left for a while won't startup.
Sometimes if I press the power button it will sort of startup but then suddenly turn off during the initial powerup (before the screen turns on).
I brought it in for repair and they replace the power supply, called apple and end the end they said they reset something on the motherboard but couldn't really find what was wrong... Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

    Hi Phil,
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
I hate to be blunt, Phil, but the real solution is to get Apple to give you a replacement. You're within your rights as a consumer to have a perfectly working Macintosh. Most of us do. I haven't read a bad report on these machines yet, but if it's not working right then something is wrong.
    Good luck.

  • System Sudden Shut Down Problem

Hi there - not sure how to trouble shoot this so I thought I'd start here:
My system runs for a while and then will suddenly shut down by itself with no warning.... I cannot restart by pushing the power button unless I wait awhile.  (few mins)  Very strange, upon boot up the system does NOT go through a disk check or anything, boots up normally.
Somethings that seem to trigger the shutdown, use of websites with heavy flash components.. Mostly kids sites like disney etc...
I use Mozilla and the flash player is the latest greatest...
I know this is very vague but thought I'd throw it out to see where folks think I should start.
My 1st guess was an overheating prob..  I have a rear 80mm case fan the CPU fan and the power supply fan going full tilt...  No excessive dust issues clogging fins etc...
    Any thoughts much appreciated!

    Hi!Just a thought..
Supposly you have an msi main board you should have the "core center" utility which shows cpu/system/nb temp's. Additionaly you can adjust the fan speed with it.
Another point is that in the past sometimes my pc used to restart without a reason. A hardware explanation is that cpu is overheated or something else went wrong. But i realized that it happend because of software..And usually when trying to run specific programs.Maybe it was drivers, maybe something unwanted installed from "bad sites", anyway try to use system restore some days before the 17th of this month just to be sure.I mean you have a quite new psu and if something was going wrong with the heatsink of cpu it would have restarted earlier during boot.
Anyway the post is 3 days long and maybe you've already managed to solve your prob.

  • I phone 6 will randomly shut down

My phone will suddenly shut down when it still has a charge.  Requires me to plug in charger and wait 10-15 mins before I can try to turn it back on.

You should get the battery checked by visiting an Apple Store or Authorized Appel Service Provider next to your place.
Apple Support can also take care of that:

  • Suddenly shut down my i pad

my i pad suddenly shut down...it was happened two month a go..but now it happen it will used more please explane

Not sure what you mean by 'but now it happen it will used more' ?
If the iPad is still off, then assuming that its battery isn't empty (it can take about 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a soft-reset (i.e. a reboot) to see if that gets it to boot up ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear.

I was charging and updating my mini ipad last night when it suddenly shut down and will not turn on since then. What do I do to turn it on again?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

  • Sudden Shut Down Help

I've posted a couple times about my shut downs, but I expected something different than I got over the past week. I had two sudden shut downs this past Tuesday, about 8 hours apart, not apparently based on anything I was doing differently with the MacBook. I had one maybe 2 or 3 months ago, but got a "OS X suddenly quit" message when I rebooted -- basically OS X crashed before it went to sleep and the computer shut down to protect it; I don't think this had anything to do with sudden shut down issue. So that's only 2 in more than 4 months. I haven't had any problems since Tuesday.
I was planning to take the MacBook in to the Apple Store today to be sent off for repair. But for 2 shut downs and 2 only I'm not sure if I see the point. Especially since I've read at least one report of shut downs returning even after the repair with the newly revised heat sink and logic board. I don't really care to send it off for repair until we can say this is truly a problem and this will truly fix it. Yes, I'm making regular back ups so I won't lose anything if my MacBook becomes impossible to start up.
For the record, this is the only issue I've had with my MacBook. Case and keyboard just great. Only discoloration caused by some ink I got on it. Screen just great, bright, clear, perfect size. Magnetic latch to die for. Trackpad button was sticky when I got it but as loosened up perfectly with use. The edge of the keyboard deck is a little sharp as my wrists and the back of my toddler's head can attest, but I suspect this is something of a design trade-off for plastic used. Did I mention the keyboard and the magnetic latch?

I'm not saying I won't have it fixed; I'm saying I'm not sure I should send it off today. A full replacement MacBook that potentially has the same problem doesn't do me any good; neither does repair with revised parts that don't actually fix the problem.
I'm just wondering if I shouldn't put it off until a) it's worse than twice a week, or b) they have positively isolated the cause of the problem and can surely fix it the first time.
I didn't think they have any way to test for a sudden shut down problem, other than watch it and see if it happens, although it may not since it's intermittent.
I have no problem sending it off for repair. But sending back once or twice to fix the same thing is going to annoy me. That's why I'm thinking of waiting a couple weeks until the verdict is more or less in about this latest batch of fixes.
