Here is the best troubleshooting resource to go through when experiencing issues with iCloud mail.
If you experience issues sending or receiving mail on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Check the System Status page to find out whether any known issues are affecting iCloud Mail.
Make sure that you're connected to the Internet: try opening a webpage such as apple.com in Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Go to iCloud.com on a Mac or PC to verify that you can receive email for your iCloud account.
Make sure that Mail is turned on in Settings > iCloud.
Make sure that Push is turned on for your device in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Fetch New Data. Then send an email to your account to verify that Push is working correctly.
Make sure that Push is turned on for your iCloud account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Fetch New Data. If you are using iOS 6, tap Advanced. Then Tap your iCloud account and make sure that Push is turned on. If you have multiple iCloud Mail accounts set up on your device, Push can be used only with one account at a time. Make sure that Push is turned on for your primary iCloud Mail account.
Turn your device off and back on.
If the issue persists, turn off each of the settings in steps 4, 5, and 6 above, then turn them back on. If that does not help, follow these instructions to delete the iCloud account from your device, then add the account back:
Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
Tap your iCloud account.
Tap Delete Account. If you store Contacts, Calendar, or Bookmarks data in iCloud, you will be given the option to keep that data.
On the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars screen, tap Add Account, then tap iCloud to begin setting up your iCloud account again. If data from your device is stored in iCloud, you will be given the option to merge that data with the data on your device.

Sounds like a limit of your ISP, as it's trying to put it back on the mailserver, which may not accept such a large file.

Icloud mail fails after update to firefox 8 on windows 7 pc

I have upgraded to firefox 8.0 and when I try to go to the www.icloud.com site a dialog box pops saying that "Mail unexpectedly stopped" The error is b.push is not a function. I have forwarded the error box to Apple.
I can see mail using safari or IE9 on the same PC. It also works on ipad and iphone.
I get the same error on a Mac Airbook also using Firefox 8.
Calendaar and contacts work fine.

I get the same thing with Firefox. Also, icloud does not even load in Chrome v 16. The OS is Mac OS 10.7.2.

All iCloud mail failing from all devices

All of my devices are indicating a log on failure to iCloud email. Have checked password which functions fine to open iCloud.com account, so this is likely a server problem at iCloud. Does anyone have advice on this. Now a REAL problem for me. - Steve

YES. Mine is up now. All delayed emails no in the IN Box. ***? That was a major problem -- bad for the reputation of iCloud and Apple. I guess all systems have issues now and then - that's why it's only 5x9 reliability rather than 100%. Thanks for replies. - Steve (lets hope it stays up)

ICloud mail not showing up as "box" on iPhone mail list

I have a me.com address. I have added it as an account on my iPhone. I can log in successfully on my desktop to iCloud to retrieve my mail. I CANNOT however, see a mailbox labeled iCloud in my iOS mail on my iPhone. Can anyone help me figure this out? I've restarted the phone over and over. I shut off Mail and turned it back on several times as well. Please help.

When I go to Settings --> iCloud --> Under my Account name [email protected] there is a list of "Mail, contacts, Calendars, etc" with on/off toggles, I switched Mail to off and then back on again, in hopes that this would reset itself or something. When I return to my Mail application, iCloud doesn't show as one of my Accounts, only my personal Yahoo and my work Exchange account. I cannot figure out why my iCloud mail does not show up there, even though I am logged in under iCloud and i can access it on my desktop.
I appreciate the help.

ICloud mail content showing up blank in iCloud on PC, reading fine in iOS though

I am receiving emails from a few friends and colleagues that show up fine on my iPhone. When i try to access the emails via iCloud.com on my PC. They are showing up completely blank, lost attachments etc. It seems that there are alot of people encountering this issue. Any suggestions,

This may be a limitation to the size of the attachments your ISP will allow. Please check with your ISP first to see the maximum size attachment they will accomodate.

Why does my iCloud mail often fail to load?

Lately, my iCloud mail often fails to load on my MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8 or on my MAC mini, same OS. It loads OK first thing in the AM and works for maybe fifteen minutes then won't load mail messages. Restarting computer and rebooting network does not cure the problem. Other non-Apple applications, i.e. Google, etc. are working fine.
Also, mail is ok on my iPhone.
I'm on a local Airport (only me) and using Comcast cable. Any ideas?

I am using the mail app on my Macbook Pro with charter email. I click the paperclip. Choose the document. It shows up in my email. I click the paper airplane. Wait. Then get...

Connection Doctor is all green.
Checked the SMPT server list and can't find a problem.
All other emails go through just fine.
I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and stay up date.
I remember this happening when I first got my Mac a few years ago and quit using the mail app. because I couldn't solve it. Now it is just driving me crazy.

Mail fails on iCloud/Safari and on Mountain Lion, works on IOS?

I'm traveling, and in a jam because Mail has stopped working on my MacBook Pro early 2011, and trying to work around this with Safari and iCloud Mail also fails--can't load Inbox, try again later, after a long wait, almost always.
I'm beginning to suspect it's due to the number of emails in my Inbox (67000), and Mail on the laptop has to match its cache against all of them perhaps, while Mail on IOS only looks at the last 1000 or so.
But my situation is confusing, because I'm traveling internationally, and various services are blocking my access from foreign IP addresses. For example, I've got a large Gmail account too, and was sent an email from Google proudly saying they'd managed to block a suspicious access from Belgium (where I was). They did provide a way to get past the limit, though, via Safari and their web interface. But that makes me wonder if Apple may be blocking "suspicious" accesses too, and just not telling me about it.
I've tried to eliminate that problem by using a VPN so it looks like I'm logging in from near my home, but the VPN setup is erratic--there are two user accounts on my laptop, and the VPN will only work with one of them at a time, so often one or the other account is logging in with the foreign IP address. I can understand why the system might be suspicious when I log in from Belgium, then France, then San Jose, all within an hour, as happened recently due to the VPN confusion.
Does anyone know if Apple is blocking things from foreign IPs without telling me?
I can't reduce the size of my Inbox, because I can't access it, so it looks like if that's the trouble I'm stuck forever. Last time I tried to archive a big chunk of it everything got tied in knots and the system became unusable for days, and I had to restore from Time Machine.
Gmail handles far larger Inboxes without problem, so I am not sure that's the trouble. My philosophy in recent years is to leave everything in one box so it's easy to find things using Search, which works well on Gmail but now I'm not so sure on Mac.

After short period of time my messages are disappearing from my Icloud mail account.Why does it happen?Can I restore them back?

I can't understand my Icloud mail behavior.All messages I sent are stored in sent box as usual whereas messages I receive are disappearing after short period of time (no more then 2 weeks).Why does it happen?Do I have any chance to restore them?

Unfotunately I'm not eligable for MAC support over the phone and have to take it in to the Genius Bar. Hmmmpf.
