Why My Ipad 1 cannot restore n update???
message show (The iPad "ipad" cannot restored at this time bcos the iPad spftware update server could not be contacted or temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.)
Please take note that the Original iPad can only be updated to IOS 5.1.1

I can't upgrade from IOS 6.0.1 to IOS 7.1.1 on my iPad 2. iPad says it has downloaded IOS 7.0.3 but cannot verify the installation if I try and install it. It claims that I have lost internet connection, which I have not. I cannot restore or update the iPad in iTunes either, if I try to, I get an error message which says that I 'do not have permission to access the requested resource'. I am using the latest version of iTunes on Windows 8. I have tried putting the iPad in recovery mode and restoring it with iTunes, the result is the same.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, but I've been having this problem for well over a week. If it is a corrupt download, is there some way of deleting it from the iPad and getting a new one?

Connect in recovery mode and restore, you'll get the option to reset the passcode during this process:

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. I have tried a newer version of the iPod software is available (version 2.0.1). To update my iPod but it is showing error iPod : Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418,1428,1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439.

Which version of iTunes are you using?
What is your iPod software version as shown on the iTunes Summary page?
Error 143x, normally caused by harddisk write timeout, probably due to
iPod Hardisk failing - Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic refer to this earlier tt2 post
Slow USB port, low datarate, due to sharing with other USB devices - Disconnect all other USB devices while Restoring or syncing. Dont use any USB hub and also use the USB port at the back of the PC. and not the front.
CPU Resource drained by other Apps like email, Antivirus, web broswer - Stop them, but if stopping Antivirus please disconnect the PC from the Inernet first.

Nano completely crashed today and said to restore with iTunes but i get this error "Error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436 or 1439: Cannot restore or update iPod in iTunes 7 or later"

Going round in circles here and about to chuck iPad on the bin! I only discovered this problem when I tried to update my iPad via iTunes. Now not only can I not update or restore..... Same message each time update server could not be contacted, iTunes now cannot communicate with the iPad at all so I can,t read the contents or do anything at all with iPad.

I have updated to the lastest OS on my IPad3. No problem there. Then found I could no longer access my Itunes as there was a message 'Cannot be used as it requires version 10.6.3 or later. Go to ... and download'. I have tried four times and it won't work. I get another message saying I must sign in as administrator or contact my system administrator. I am the only one who uses this PC and have no idea what my administrator password is. Now I cannot use ITunes. Please help if you can. Thank you. Eileen Frost
Many thanks diesel. I cannot remember ever having an administrator password. Looks like I shall have to do a restore on my PC and not bother with the updates. Or maybe I could find my password from somewhere ? When I went into control panel I found a box with administrator and my name and it said password protected so I must have had one at some time. Any ideas on how I could find it ? Many thanks anyway. I always use a password to sign on but obviously that is not it. Eileen
