T60 WLAN COMPLETELY GONE after installing latest Update Intel Wireless WiFi Link for Windows XP

I just reinstalled a T60 from scratch TWICE to the point of updating - Intel Wireless Wifi Link for Windows XP -
Just after that very latest Update (3.1.1.1 or so?) there is no WLAN possible and I had to find out, that a system restore is impossible either! (Simply does not work and asks me to get another point and try again)
I have a full backup done by acronis 2010 so that does not bother me so very much.
The point is that I like to WARN everybody to install that Update to their T60 e.g. 2008YWJ !!!
(contains 3945AGB WLAN Module!)
After Updating U HAVE NO CHANCE TO REPAIR IT! U get always the problem signature
szAppName: AcSvc.exe szAppVer: 5.6.1.33 szModName: PfMgrApi.dll
szModVer : 13.0.0.2 offset: 000d4912
and the System wants to report that stuff to MicroSoft...again and again...every time u
start AccessConnections.
U can DEinstall AccessConnections and Intel Wireless Wifi Link for XP completely, reboot
and REinstall it....just 2 get the same messages and NO WLAN anymore.
I could not get out of this Driver Installation Hell until I did a complete Recovery Install and
I got back to Hell when System Update REinstalled Intel Wireless WiFi Link for XP
automagically...;-(((
And again NO CHANCE to roll back, No chance to get rid of that annoying bug. This time I have an ACRONIS-Image so I can spare some time....
Somebody shoud really CHECK this, because it should not be possible to break down an completely NICE RUNNING Thinkpad THIS WAY just by updating it! As it took me abaout 12 Hours of Administration by now I
really would apreciate to help whomever to find out what the hell is responsible 4 this !!!
Why is XP System Restore not working on an T60 to roll back to Point b4 installation of this Update???
(I could not use that Thinkvantage-System Recovery because it did not even get all its updates by the
time the system went in limbo during install! What i defintely can say is that it breaks at exactely
same point when Intel Wifi Updates is installed...
I do my Acronis Restore now and try 2 avoid this Update....;-(
if anybody KNOWS how to get that system 2 an earlier point of an install orgy i whould be thankful to get that information...
I am keeping alive 12 Thinkpads here R40 R50 T42 T43 T60 T61p T400 T500 and NEVER
experienced problems like this in many years!

gal9000, welcome to the forum,
have you tried running windows system restore from safe mode? It usually works then because some anti-virus softwares will prevent it from running successfully from "normal" windows.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

New ipad (4days) stuck in start, works for about a minute and then shuts down and restarts (loop)

New Ipad setup and worked fine for 4 days. 5th day it started OK and worked for about a minute. screen did a fade out and it restarted. It is stuck in this loop. I have tried reset, and then restore. It is still stuck in loop. After it up graded to newes version of iOS 5, it did a restore. I need to configure it like new set up, but it is still stuck in the restart loop so I can not complete. Battery shows 100% ( now down to about 96%). I am assuming this is a hardware not a software issue. Any suggestions?

After about a half hour or so my new iPad air looses the wifi connection

My laptop in the same location never looses the connection. Why does it happen with my iPad air ? I can get the connection back by either shutting off my ipad or going into settings then wifi and turning wifi off and then back on again. It connects right back up. The signal strength is full, I cannot find out why it does this, does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it ?

The prolem is from fabric, You are not the first one with that problem. Those are the bad things of buying new technology when its aout, most of time comes with problmes. I recommend you to go to an apple store and them to tell you whats going on. I had the same problem and I pay a little and they change it to me to a new ipad but from the same model.
Turn it on a try everything on the same store like that you dont need to go again and pay again.

New iPad: Q about Wireless / WiFi vs. Internet / Hotspot Connection

I just bought an iPad (and just received it today) and I have what I hope is an easily answerable question. I have the 3G + WiFi model. When I signed onto the iPad for the first time, it prompted me for my home wireless connection pwd (as I would expect it to). However, when I browse, or I go to iTunes or whatever, the connection at the top says "Verizon" (which is the carrier I have for 3G wireless). I would expect the iPad to function the way my iPhone does, to first use my home internet signal, or to allow me to select a hotspot signal where it senses one and then, if not available or not selected, to go for Verizon. I do not want the 3G to be the default option, for obvious reasons. Maybe it is meant to always just display "Verizon" at the top since that is my data carrier, but how can I be sure that an internet connection is the default connection? At home it should be using that first.
Maybe I'm a little paranoid, but with my iPhone I usually know how I am connecting, but am not feeling as sure with the iPad.

I believe it will always say "Verizon" at the top. Mine always says "AT&T". However, you can tell which network it's using by the symbol to the right of the Verizon. If it says "3G", you're using your cellular connection. If you have the WiFi symbol, you're using WiFi. The iPad is designed to default to WiFi if that's available. It sounds as if you iPad is working as expected.

I have the latest BT infinity home hub for over a year. I have all those devices and computers listed in the subject. I have probelm getting wireless connection on all devices working at the same time.
My main problem was desktop PC wireless not working on channel 1. Spoke to technical support, tried Channel 7, desktop PC connection is fine, but it affected my iPhone and iPad connection. Appearently channel 1 and 11 are recommended channels, but still not working. Network interface setting 802.11 b/g/n. Now given up all manual channel setting, back to automatic setting. Now my desktop PC currently without wireless network - back to sqaure one !!!
If anyone has all or most these devices and computers connected same as me, and is working well, can you please let me know which channel you are using and other settings so I can try.

Thanks for all your advice. As it is currently set to auto, when I checked this morning, it is set on Channel 6 (spot on!). My desktop PC wireless connection icon is showing "X" with no bars (like mobile signal) - meaning no connection, but when I check the browser and Outlook, everything seem to be working fine. All my i devices all working fine so far as well.
It seem be a happy ending for this! BT wanted to charge £30 for checking the devices!!!

I've set the TEB to accept numbers only. It will accept 123456 but will not accept 1234.56 with a decimal (won't accept a decimal at any number position).

Yes, numbered TEB's don't recognize decimals. You can use a normal TEB, without restriction to numbers.

The laptop which i use on the main floor where the router is at is getting full upload and download speed by wireless but my laptop which i use up in my room is only getting half of thee speed n sometimes less... But once i brought my laptop down to the office right beside the router, i get the full speed so

If you are getting the speed when you are near the router, then you need an expander or a wireless repeater. I presume you get a low signal upstairs. Of course, speed directly proportional to your signal given that there are no significant interferences around.
There's no best wireless channel. You have to check which one is the best for your connection.
