2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • IPad 2 WiFi Range Issues (but not issues with connectivity when in range)

Okay. I hate to start a new thread when there are bunches of threads on the iPad 2 having WiFi problems (particularly with 5Ghz networks and also related to 4.3). Nonetheless, I'm not seeing anyone talking about range in these forums.
Issue: iPad 2 WiFi range is not as far as iPad 1 (with no cover on either).
Alternative Explanation: iPad 2 has difficulty connecting to Airport Express or Time Capsule extended networks.
Devices: iPad 2 3g, iPad 1 3g (iOS 4.3), iPhone 3gs (iOS 4.3), iPhone (iOS 3.2x), iMac, MacBook Pros, etc.
Network Router: Simultaneous Dual-Band Airport Extreme (latest version) set up with 2.4, 5 ghz and Guest Networks (each with their own name).
Network Extender: Airport Express (latest version) extending the 2.4 ghz network
Network Extender 2: Time Capsule (original, single band) extending the 2.4 ghz network
Longer Description: iPad 2 connected without an issue to the 5 ghz network and the 2.4 ghz network when it was in the same room as the Aiport Extreme. Didn't have any issues maintaining that connection.
However, the iPad 2 doesn't work in any of the farther rooms and can't see the network. iPad 1 and iPhones have no issues (and typically show 1 or two bars). I believe they typically are connecting through the Airport Express (but it could be the Time Capsule).
Given that the iPad 2 isn't even seeing the networks, I'm guessing it's a range issue, but hoping it's not.
Anyone else seeing this? Any fixes?

While it is possible that an Apple moderator (Apple host) could pass some information to an Apple development/support group, in practice this doesn't really seem to happen (at least often). I believe that the moderators are kept quite busy just administering the forums and keeping them under control (no spam, ads, abuse, etc.). I've never seen a post by an Apple host here or seen a technical correction to a post (and there is certainly a lot of incorrect information posted here).
Unfortunately, a lot of new posters here seem to think that they are talking directly to Apple and post bug reports, feature suggestions, complaints, etc. These would be much better submitted via the Apple feedback vehicle at http://www.apple.com/feedback. These are not anonymous, are directed to the appropriate product and provide an email contact for Apple to get back to the submittor if more detail is required.

  • Why is 8gb only showing total memory of less than 6.5?

why is 8gb only showing total memory of less than 6.5?

Because the difference is due to the operating system taking up most of the diference and the other is how GB is advertised and actually used.

  • Is the iPad 3 wifi range good

I am considering the purchase of an ipad. Can anybody tell me how good the wifi range is, in particular comparison to the ipod touch 2g which for me only works in some parts of my house, especially annoying since my router is as far from the bedroom as you can get. Does anyone ahve both devices and can make a comparison - is the chip in the ipad bigger and better?

Since I've bought one, I'll answer my own question for others, it isn't fab but it will suffice, make sure you have a decent n router

  • HT4111 Ipad 3 wifi performance very poor whilst using Bluetooth headsets

Anyone else noticing  iPad 3 wifi performance slows down significantly whilst using Bluetooth stereo headphones?  I can't even stream from YouTube or NBA.tv if I'm paired with Bluetooth headphone ( tried two different headphones). I can switch between Bluetooth and iPad speaker and watch the speed and performance increase instantly. I have and iPad 2 and it does not do this.

Try change the WiFi channel e.g. channel 1, 6, or 11

  • IPad Air wifi sync a lot slower than iPhone 5s?

I just got my new iPhone 5s yesterday and found out that its wifi syncing to itunes is a lot faster than the iPad Air I bought a few days ago. Actually iPad Air wifi syncing is so much slower than iPhone 5s, almost half speed, just as slow as wifi syncing with my iPhone 4, is this normal?
I've tested another iPad Air of my friend, and found out that his new iPad is as slow as mine. Anyone know WHY? Is there anything / settings we're missing?
I have the latest AirPort Extreme as wifi router.

It's not much help but here is another thread with similar problems.

  • I can't join WiFi network with passwrod less than 8 characters

I have a WiFi ONLY iPad but now I can't seem to connect with any WiFi networks which has passwords less than 8 characters...:(

the password has nothing to do with apple
you are suppose to be enter the password that was set-up for your wifi router
once you enter the correct password on your ipad to connect to wifi
it wont ask you to enter the password again

  • Find row number of first cell in a relative range that is less than $B$3

Thanks for any help. I've spent hours searching, trying, and reading iWork Help
    Example:   $B$3 = 3
    Column C
    1:  9
    2:  2
    3:  9
    4:  2
    5:  3
    6:  9
    7:  9
Find the first occurrence that is less than $B$3 (=3) in the range C3:C6. Return the row # (relative to the range, or actual row number, I don't care)
Fill Down the formula, so the next cell looks at the range C4:C7
In this case, I want it to return Row 4 (not 5 or 2)
Tried this with MATCH (last argument -1 or 1) which almost works, but if it finds an exact match, it returns that row (5) instead of the first one (4)

The single formula in D2, filled down that column, returns the row number of every row where the value in column C is less than or equal to the value in $B$3.
The second formula, which I placed in B4, but which can go wherever it's needed, searches a limited range of column D for the minimum value in that range.
In the example, based on your initial question, the range is three cells.  In B4, it's D2:D4; in B5 it's D3:D5, etc., with Numbers automatically adjusting the cell references as the formula is filled down the column. In each case, the formula returns the minimum value it finds in the three cell range, which is the row number on which the value in column C first meets the condition (less than or equal to $B$3) within that three cell range.
In the second example, the formula retrieves the same value (the row number) as above, but instead of displaying it, uses it as the row-offset value in an OFFSET statement to return the Date from the row where the row number was collected.
NOTE: Looking back at it, I see that in my rush to other duties I made an error in this formula, setting the row offset too high. Revise the formula as shown below to get the date from the correct row:
    Existing: =IF(MAX(D2:D4)=0,"",OFFSET($A$1,MIN(D2:D4),0))
    Revised: =IF(MAX(D2:D4)=0,"",OFFSET($A$1,MIN(D2:D4)-1,0))
    You wrote:
If I'm following the logic, it would require one column (like D in this example) for every set of rows searched (in my example, B5:B15  filled down, so the next search is B6:B16 and so on).
No. Provided the values of X and Y are constant for each set of searches, you'll need an auxiliary column for each column of values to be searched. One auxiliary column is used to mark the rows in which the value in B meets the condition ">x", the second to mark the rows where the value in C meets the condition "<y".
The search formula (above) searches a subset of its column and returns the lowest row number where the condition for that column is met,and either displays that number or uses it to return and display a date.
    Regards,
    Barry

You iPod is broken. It appears it is more than the screen and maybe more than the battery.

  • Speed is very much less than promised

I am paying for 45Mbps and when I place my laptop right beside the modem, the speed is not even crossing 25Mbps. Customer care team tell that its acceptable. Speed in my bed rooms is not even crossing 10Mbps and hardly touches 15Mbps. I dont really understand why am paying something close to 65$ per month. I have no other choice except continuing with this "expensive with slow internet". Is there any solution for this?

Laptop next to modem? Does that mean you are plugging into RG using an Ethernet cable or just testing wireless based on distance and obstructions? Hardwired (Ethernet) with no TV service on, no other internet  devices connected (phones, game systems, Netflix, etc) and using speed test.net to a local server or two (within 100 miles) will give most accurate reading..... Time of day (network route/congestion) can also result in difference. Wireless interference due to number of other units (2.4 GHz crowded band, purchase a dual band to move to 5ghz frequency) (WiFi analyzer for android helps), the channel your on (changing channel 1,6, or 11 by accessing RG at 192.168.1.254), the software your using for your wireless device (do you have most current WiFi adapter/software), objects signal has to go through (air, glass, drywall, plaster, mirrors, bricks, metal such as heat ducts/refrigerator).... Can all contribute to less speed performance.  Bottom line hardwired speed matters, wireless is just convince... If it needs to work at desired speeds, run Ethernet to devices, if devices are only wireless then best case is best case but not guarantee to reach 45.

  • Unlimited broadband speed VERY slow (less than 25k...

When we first got setup around 6 weeks ago the broadband was fine but we had some noise on the phone line which we was told would settle down. - it did then got progressively worse and eventually the phone stopped working all together while the bt router continually lost connection to the broadband. After chasing BT for over 2 weeks we finally had an engineer out who found the phone line problem (previous engineer pinched two wires together causing it to burn out and short the circuit). we was told the broadband speed should pick back up after 3 or 4 days....today has been 5 days and doing a speedtest reveals my download speed to be (on average) 22kb/s with an upload speed of 15kb/s. Web pages take FOREVER to load and anything beyond text you may aswell give up waiting for. Just 6 weeks ago when shiny and new we was getting over 9mb/s - nothing changed internally the setup is all the same just the phone line issue.
Is there ANYTHING i can do to speed this process up? I'm quite put off after the experience i have had with BT services so far and the support have been hopeless.
Heres hoping someone has some ideas!

welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods
in order for the forum members to help please can you  run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results .
are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

  • Does anyone know why my iPod Touch 5G battery drains in less than 4 hours?

Hello fellow Apple users. I am having battery issues with my iPod Touch 5G. It's only 6 months old and already the battery is draining quickly. It used to last me around 9-10 hours on a single, full charge (on iOS 6) Playing with games didn't affect the battery very much, so I'm assuming there's a battery bug with iOS 7? If not, may I please hear your suggestions?

You may want to poke around in notifications. There's a ton of stuff defaulted to on that you may not need. As well as background app refresh and background app update. When those are on your iPad regularly reaches out to get more info and that can affect your battery.
