Why my iPad is not charging

I need help someone please help me my iPad is not charging

I had the same question and I bought a "high-power" adapter as suggested.
But, I accidentally discovered that iPad can be charged with a regular adapter, though it takes longer than with "high-power" one.
If you don't have any other apple device (such as iphone) than iPad, you don't need to purchase an extra USB connector, unless you want to charge iPad quickly.
Just leave iPad connected to PC while you're not using it.
I found it out while I was trying to sync the data in iPad using iTunes in my PC, and battery level was slowly going up.
I also found out some other altertives while I was surfing through the internet.

  • Hello I would like to ask why my iPad is not charging?

Hi i would like to know why my iPad not charging?

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • HT5012 Why my iPad says not charging..what can I do about this??

My iPad is connected to my lab top for the 1st time and it says "Not Charging" what can I do about this?

This is normal, as the USB ports on most computers do not provide sufficient current to charge the iPad properly. It is best to charge it with the included high power adapter.

  • I just get the new iPad air and when connecting it to my laptop, why the battery is not charging?

just get the new iPad air and when connecting it to my laptop, why the battery is not charging?

A lot of computers don't provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.

Read the KB article.  Make sure you are using the 10W adapter that came with the iPad or a High-Power USB 2.0 port.

  • Why iPad does not charge battery when is connected to my laptop?

why ipad does not charge battery ehen is connected/sync to my laptop?

Because most USB ports do not put out enough power to meet the iPad's minimum requirements. An iPad is best charged plugged into the wall with the supplied charger.

  • IPad 3 not charging in greece

I have all the right connectors and I'm get the Not Charging message when I plug it in to charge. it worked at the Amsterdam airport, but now in Greece it doesn't. Using the exact same connection in Greece, my wife's iPad 2 does charge correctly. Does anyone know why it's not working for my iPad 3? Amsterdam and Greece use the same outlets, can't figure out why it worked at airport but not here.

  • My ipad does not charge

I am living in Sri Lanka, I recently got down an ipad2 from abroad.
My ipad does not charge either when i connect it to my laptop or when i connect it to a power outlet. I charge my ipod using the same cable too, so it aught to be working.
i have seen here that ipad does not charge well when connected to laptops. But i cannot understand why it wont charge when connected to the power outlet. Sri lanka has 230V. should i use something else with my power adapter to convert the electricity.pls help.
it is frustrating when things dont work as you want them to. Specially new things

It's normal for your iPad to not charge when plugged into a USB. The usb simply does not put out enough power. Technically it does charge, just very slowly (as in takes hours and hours)
Also your iPod charger won't work on your iPad. iPod/iPhone chargers put out 5W, the iPad wants 10W.
Are you using the power brick that came with your iPad? If not, that's the best thing to use.
The iPad power brick is rated for world power, so all it should need is a plug adapter.
You can try swapping out different USB cords and plugins.

  • Hi why is my ipadmsaying not charging I got it yesterday and plugged it in

hello does anyone know why my ipad2 when plugged in is saying ... not charging, I just got it yesterday

It will charge very slowly, if the port is a fully powered port, as in not in a hub. Even if you get the "Not charging" message. But it's so slow it's hardly worth trying.
Page 34 of the User Guide:
The best way to charge the iPad battery is to connect iPad to a
power outlet using the included Dock Connector to USB Cable and 10W USB power
adapter. When you connect iPad to a USB 2.0 port on a Mac with the Dock Connector
to USB Cable, iPad may charge slowly while syncing.
Important: The iPad battery may drain instead of charge if iPad is connected to a PC,
to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, to a USB hub, or to the
    USB port on a keyboard.
If your Mac or PC doesn’t provide enough power to charge iPad, a Not Charging
message appears in the status bar. To charge iPad, disconnect it from your computer
and connect it to a power outlet using the included Dock Connector to USB Cable and
    10W USB Power Adapter.

  • My iPad is not charging any more on my iMac

I used to charge my iPad directly from my iMac on the USB port on the back.
Today, for the first time, the iPad refused to charge (Not charging message).
    What's worng?
Same Mac, same USB port, same original cable, same iPad...

The USB port on the computer is not able to charge an iPad which is why it comes with its own separate charger.  At best the computer can maintain an existing charge which is why you see the "not charging" message.
    I can't understand this.
I charged the same iPad since December 2010. Actually, I always charged the iPad with that USB port from the back side of the iMac. It worked for months. I did not change anything.
I'm talking about an iPad 1, not 2.

  • My iPad is not charging, My iPad is not charging

My iPad is not charging!!!, it was charging until yesterday, but now when I plug the charger it's shows your charger may not be support , what is the meaning of this ? I change the another charger and it's showing the same. Then I reset my iPad and plug the charger again, still it's same problem. Anyone can help me for this issue? Why my charger is not working, now I have only 11 percent battery.

It seems you're not using an original Apple lightning USB cable or it's damaged. If so, you need to buy a new one in the next apple store or any other electronics store for 19 $.

  • After trying to down ios 7, iPad will not charge, will not open and will not connect to itunes.  The only display I will get is the apple logo, or low battery warning.

After trying to download ios 7, iPad will not charge, will not open and will not connect to itunes.  Sometimes, screen will switch from Apple logo to low battery notification, but doesn't look as if battery is charging.

Connect with cable to computer.   Your ipad is in recovery mode.

  • Ipad 4 not charging with the ORIGINAL Power adapter that came in the box. Can't charge my iPad. I plugged in on PC all night and has been charged to 7%

Yesterday, as usual was going to charge my iPad, it was at 1%. Well, I took my ipad charger (original Apple official, I want to clarify that as a first step, I'm using the brand products than Apple) and plugged into an outlet ... The ipad began loading the first two minutes , then I got a notification telling me that the iPad could not charge with the charger.
I was quite surprised by the announcement. I disconnected and reconnected it .... again, I received the same notification. Then I disconnected and tried it on another outlet ... anything, yet. then I tried it on another outlet and ipad started charging. but after a while I had the same notice, not paying attention to that. I left it charging and I removed roughly 25% that of fear for something to happen. also remembered that situation (made 2-3 months ago where the iPad was not charging but after waiting a while disconnected, reconnected it and loaded normally).
so I decided to wait to re-connect the iPad to the outlet. This time, I plugged it into the outlet (fully discharged) at night and expected to find it loaded in the morning. But my surprise is that it still is off, it did not load anything.
I Bought the iPad in December 2012. Do you think that my iPad is hurt?
What can I do? Ay recommendation?
    Please, HELP ME!

Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.  You may also want to swap out the cable, just to confirm or rule out that it's bad.
If none of those fixes work, make the appointment at your apple store and have them check it out.

  • HT4060 iPad will not charge if hooked by USB to pc or plugged into wall.  How do I know if the problem is with iPad, cable or power adapter.  I have a 12, 10 and 5W adapters no success with any.  Only one lightening cable so can't swap cables.
