Why my iPhone Voice Memos sometimes randomly stop recording

Hello everyone,
I'm using my iPhone 6 Plus Voice Memos app to record my lecture in the university, the problem is sometimes the app stop recording and this is causing me major problem.
Note that I'm putting my iPhone on Airplain mode to avoid stopping the recording if someone called me.
The WiFi is sometimes ON while recording, but in all cases the Airplain mode is on
at the end I need to record my classes lectures for more then 60 minutes normally sometimes 160 minutes.

If your Voice Memos are still unexpectedly not recording after some time, I would recommend quiitting the app itself first:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Syning iphone voice memos to itunes

I am having trouble syncing iphone voice memos to itunes. I am selling my iphone and need to ship it off, but I really want the vocie memos. I went to the music tab and checked include voice memos. I have backed up and synced my phone after,and I cannot get the voice memos playlist to appear on itunes. I have emailed some to myself, but some are too large. Please help

Yes, you can! You need an app on your Mac called Phone View. Download it, check the "show all files" option(or words to that effect) in prefs, and look under voice memos. Be careful not to delete any iphone system files, but if you follow the instructions you will easily see a section for voice memos. Drag the relevant .mov (this seems to contain the sound data) onto the desktop and then into itunes.
Quick, wireless, and no sync required. I did this for one voice memo of a conference that got stuck on the phone, i.e., it wouldn't sync in itunes, and it also wouldn't play from with the voice memo app on my phone.

Iphone Voice Memo Sync Solved?

Recently got an Iphone 3GS. Couldn't get the iphone voice memos to sync to Itunes, except once by trimming the memo and that seemed a fluke. I didn't want to go through the steps of consolidating my itunes library which has worked for some, as I didn't want all that duplication going on. I found that once the Iphone is connected, there is ANOTHER box that needs to be checked that Apple has not mentioned as far as I know: The name of your iPhone in the Artists box.
1. Connect Iphone to computer. Note that I do not automatically sync my Itunes or iphone but manual only; others may differ.
2. At the top of the Summary page, select the Music tab which opens the music page, at the top of which is a box that you check called Sync Music. (That 'sync music' is just a setting, not the 'sync' button at the bottom that actually syncs.)
I make sure that under that the 'selected playlists artists albums and genres' is selected, then below that is checked the 'include voice memos'...
3. Under that you should see a list of categories playlists, artists, etc. You can check the box 'Voice Memo' under Playlists, but don't know if this is crucial. There is another Voice Memos box under 'Genre' which you can click but also don't know if it's crucial.
4. Most importantly, go to the Artists list, scroll down and find the name you use for your Iphone. THAT'S the box that seems most important. Then with all those boxes checked the computer may request you to hit the 'apply' button at bottom right for those changes, then click the Synch button on the bottom right of the page and all voice memos go from iphone to iTunes.
To get them out of Itunes for backup go to the left hand column in the Itunes window where it says 'PLAYLISTS' (not the playlists on the music page, but the heading in the left hand column usually below the 'STORE' and 'DEVICES' headings.) This PLAYLISTS heading shows the iTunes folders on your computer, not your iphone, scroll down and through the playlists until you come to 'Voice Memos'. Open that and then you can drag the voice memos onto your desktop like any other itunes file. (If you mistakenly open the Voice Memos folder under the Devices heading, that's your Iphone, and you will not be able to drag those files onto your desktop. Ideally disconnect your iphone before doing this.)
I would like to know if this works for other than the two MacBook Pros I tried it on; note that this presumes your iphone name will show up in the Artists list; if not that may be another problem.

No, but there are plenty of Apps which will do this.

Iphone voice memo xfer to ipad from macbook .. why not?

I've started using voice memos on my iphone to sketch out riffs and song ideas, they transfer just fine to my macbook pro and show and play just fine in itunes. I use my ipad to store itune playlists off of my macbook and have no difficulty playing. But for the first time, I added a voice memo to a playlist but the voice memo will not transfer to the ipad. The rest of the songs transfer just fine ... I've got the voice memo box checked in preferences ... the voice memo plays ok in tunes on my macbook and on my iphone but does not show at all on ipad after transfer.
Whats up with that?

IPhone Voice Memos Interrupted By Incoming Calls

I notice that every time I use my Voice Memos software on the 3G(s), if an call comes in, the Voice Memo stops recording and I won't know it till I look at the phone later. Is there ANY way to stop that for that not to happen and you can have perhaps the calls go directly into voice mail so that the Voice Memo feature doesn't get interrupted? It's useless to me otherwise.

The voice recorder application - just like every other iPhone application, native or 3rd party - will shut down when you receive a phone call. The iPhone operates under the assumption that the device is first and foremost a telephone.
As far as work arounds go, you can always put the phone in airplane mode when you need to use the voice recorder app uninterrupted. This will send all incoming calls directly to voicemail.

IPhone voice memos can't be deleted

I have unchecked voice memos and eleted others from my itunes library, but they still show in Voice Memos on the iphone (when viewed from itunes. How do I get rid of them from the iphone. I think this is why I have 4GB of OTHER cluttering my iphone memory

Thanks, selecting Manually Manage allowed me to delete the errant voice memo files. Curiously, it did not delete within the general Music folder so had to dlete from there as well. I think they are gone, but saw no reduction in space used. Have to look somewhere else for that.

IPhone Voice Memos Won't Sync

I have an iPhone 3GS and an iMac operating on OS X 10.6.8. When I sync my iPhone to the iMac, all of my voice memos transfer, except key memos dated before a certain date or 5/4/11. I can't figure it out. I've looked through all my preferences in iTunes and on the iPhone but without any luck. Any clue what the problem may be and how to fix it?

I got a way around it. It's a bit long but works. Email the memo to yourself and then download it. Then open it on itunes and find it inside the Music folder (top left). Then copy and place it wheneve you want. It's the only way I could managed to move them from the memo library to my prefered playlist (despite ticking the include voice memos box). For some anowying reason memos are not allowed to be moved around!

Iphone voice memo issue?

So when I record anything with my iphone I give the voice memo a name by taping the blue arrow at the end of the recording, however when I sync them to my itunes the name does not sync and only the date and time...! does anyone know how can I fix this or if this is even possible?

Voice Memos will not start recording.

I can pull up the application, but when I tap the record button, nothing happens. The little dial that says "VU" doesn't move, the red recording circle symbol doesn't change to a pause or stop button. Is this an application error? Any suggestions?

I bought an iTouch 3rd Generation last March my voice memos worked fine in the beginning but eventually the app just quit working due to new firmware update. Ever since I updated to 3.0 or 3.1 (can't remember exactly) my voicememo application quit working... I just downloaded 4.3 and that did not fix problem neither. The icon for voice memos used to be red ever since I started udating firmware from 3.0 or 3.1 on it turned blue and it also quit working. Can't get dragon dictate to work neither... can anyone please help these apps are absolutely vital to me! I am really bummed out that i cannot use them... Thanks

Audacity randomly stops recording after a few seconds

I've been trying to record a few things with audacity, which has generally worked pretty well for me in the past.
However, whenever I try to record a second track, it only records for a second or so after I hit the record button, and then randomly stops, although the cursor keeps on moving forwards and the meter keeps showing the input.
I haven't been able to find any reason why it would be doing this, and it is EXTREMELY fustrating. It has also done this when I tried to record for the first time in a new project, but I switched a few settings on and off again and it worked for some reason. Can anyone offer any help?

Is this still a problem for anyone? I came here looking for help and found more questions, so I started randomly playing with the input settings. I have an Ensoniq (es1371). Choosing OSS/DSP gave me an error trying to read the device; choosing hw0:0 or 0:1 had it stop recording at just over 0.6 seconds; turning software playthrough on or off had no effect. What finally worked was "ALSA:Default" and use alsamixer to control the recording source.
At the risk of being branded a linux hater, I should mention that the same hardware under Windows "just works" without any changes needed in the input settings on my part. I fired up Windows 7 in a vmware window - so not only did the Windows environment work correctly out of the box, that was with the additional layer of alsa -> vmware -> windows.

HELP!!! LOGIC RANDOMLY STOPS RECORDING FOR NO REASON!

WHILE IM WORKING IN LOGIC EVERYTHING WE'LL BE FINE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN I HIT THE RECORD BUTTON (ON AN INSTRUMENT TRACK) IT WONT RECORD ANYMORE. I CAN STILL HEAR THE CLICK BUT NO MIDI DATA OR REGION IS BEING RECORDED. NO REGION SHOWS UP EITHER.

Try these ideas.
run disk permsissions repair, and disk repair. Consider getting Disk Warrior, it often repairs disks that other programs, don't find a problem with.
trash Logic prefs,
log on as another user, see if problem still occurs...
Does this do this all the time?.... I on occassion (only about 3 times in the last year) have created encountered a problem, where an 'invisible mute' or 'solo' has been generated. That is Logic acts as if a mute of solo button is on, even though none are visible.. I rectified the problem, by hitting "undo" a few times.. One time, I had to go back to a previous version of the song, and recreate from there. I never found out exactly why it was happening..
If none of these solutions work, I would trash Logic itself, and re-install.. And finally if none of that worked. I would trash the whole disk, reformat, install OSX and Logic again.. I have had to do that once or twice also.
Another less drastic measure might be to install another OSX and Logic on a different disk, or partition. Consider also, once you get things working OK is to Clone the OS drive to another, and keep that as a backup, in case things sour.
I have had to go the whole erase, re-install, routine twice in the last 2 years, and it seems to take the better part of a week to get EVERYTHING back to normal... Good Luck

MSI Afterburner "randomly" stops recording

I have an issue with an old version of MSI Afterburner. I use it to record gameplay, and the software would often stops recording anything, even if I press the key to stop the recording and start a new one. I have to actually leave the game and restart MSI Afterburner to get it to work again. The last video captured by the software would usually be corrupted and unreadable.
I think I know what's causing the problem, but I don't really know how to fix it : it happens from time to time, when a loading screen appears. MSI Afterburner would just completely cease to operate somewhere during the loading, with no warning, and now way to fix it without restarting the whole thing. I'm using version 3.0.1.
Yes, I know I should update MSI Afterburner, I'm actually doing that just now, but I'm especially interested to know if this is a known issue at all, and if that's the case, if it has been fixed in the latter versions. If not, is there any workarounds to it, besides stopping the recording each time there's a loading screen ? That would be impractical.
