My iPod suddenly stop working.  What can be a cause for that?

The iPod's battery may be shot, especially after going without use for a couple of months.  And yes, you can bring it to your local Apple store to have them take a look at it.  They'll be able to determine what your options are.

  • Help my Ipod suddenly stopped working 2 min after unplug from car......

Help my Ipod suddenly stopped working 2 min after unplugging it from my scion pioneer ipod ready radio. I am not sure what happened; it was working fine and charged sufficiently and i walked into the gym and tried to turn it on, and no life. I tried plugging it back into my car and it says "i-pod read error". I then tried to plug it into my computer and it doesnt even read it. I may have unplugged it when it said do not disconnect; i am not sure though.Any suggestions? thanks!

I'd say your "Scion Pioneer" radio fried your Mini; could have been a power surge, or could be a bug.
You might want to go the "aux jack" route next time.

  • Any reason why dictation should suddenly stop working in Pages?

Been working on Pages today on my Mac. All going along swimmingly using the dictation function.
    Then suddenly, it stops!
    Haven't got it working since.
Running latest Mavericks, on a three year-old MacBook Pro 17 inch; Pages is the latest edition.
    Any ideas?
Otherwise it's back to typing in again!
    Cheers!
    Mark.

    I'm using spoken punctuation.
I think the problem is a combination of a few things perhaps: my MacBook Pro is just over three years old, runs only 8Gb RAM, perhaps struggles with an English accent, and maybe Pages sin't quite the old Pages any more.
I can get it to work for about twenty words max before I hit the beach ball.
Also working out about the same on my 18 month old iPad as well.
Will just work within the limitations.
Thanks for all your help and comments, chaps!

  • My ipod suddenly stop working and i was wondering if it was possible for me to take it to an Apple Store to see what's going on?

I stop using my Ipod for a few months and then when i wanted to use it it didn't turn on. I try to charge it but after two hours of charging it says it still needs more charging time. It didn't get wet or anything like that but, i does make a funny noise when everytime i try to turn it on. All i want to know if like i could bring my Ipod to an Apple Store and they'll be able to fix it or something free or not.
    Thanks

  • IPod suddenly stopped working.....please help

I was transferring purchased songs from my 2Gen iPod nano, but decided to stop it and finish it off the next day. But I now can't switch my iPod on. I've tried holding down the centre and select buttons (when connected to the computer, mains and just on it's own). I've also tried using different cables and another computer, but still nothing. I've also tried to mount the iPod by using Disk Utility, but it doesn't show up there either. The screen doesn't even flicker. I'm pretty certain it's fully charged, but at the moment I can't do anything with it.
I'd be grateful for any help.
    Thanks

Don't restore just yet - your music might still be there. There are several threads addressing this in the iTunes board under Discussions. I'll look around and see if I can find something for you on how to access your ipos as a hard drive - which will allow you to see if the songs are there. IF THEY ARE you can do the following:

Back in a bit if I can find the thread explaining the above-mentioned process (unless someone else beats me to it).

  • Why did Firefox suddenly stop working after an update?

I installed the most recent Firefox update and it now refuses to work. The message I get is: Firefox cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Firefox works with this version of Mac OS X.........
I installed the most recent update for OS X. According to Mozilla, it should run on the version I have; 10.6.4
I tried opening the system profiler and it won't even do that. Help!

    Mac OS X 10.4 and later - [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/system-requirements.html OK].
    1) Please take a screenshot of the issue and attach the image to your post.
    2) Please explain how you tried to start the profile manager (see also [[Managing profiles]]).

  • My iPod suddenly stopped working! Please help.

I disconnected my iPod as usual today before logging off the computer...and when I was going to listen to it I saw it was completely empty. Everything was gone... All 1500+ songs. Now, if that wasn't bad enough (I don't have them backed up anywhere) iTunes won't even recognize my iPod now. It says I need to reset it to the factory settings in iTunes, but it doesn't even appear there... I'm really confused and upset! If anyone knows what I should do, please let me know.

  • Why did my 4th generation iPod touch stop working with my docking station?

I have an Altec docking station and my iPod suddenly stopped working on it.  The station comes on and makes a beeping noise like it is connected when I insert the iPod.  However, the music will only come out of the iPod.  The docking station will charge the battery on the iPod, so I assume it isn't broken.

    - While charging try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if still problem restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
    - However, I really think that the iPod has a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.  If defective Apple should give you a refurbished iPod.

  • Airport woes - suddenly stopped working

I’m unfortunately currently having Airport issues, and was hoping to get some help. My wireless network has been running fine for a while, but yesterday evening it suddenly stopped working. I could see and join my network, but it wasn’t working. When I connected my computer directly to my modem via Ethernet, it worked fine. I rely on wireless a lot though, so I unplugged and plugged everything back in, but it didn’t solve anything. Eventually, I decided to reset my Airport Extreme and Express (used as WDS) base stations and start over. I set everything up (standard set up, Extreme with Express as WDS), and my connection started working again. After about half an hour though, my internet went down again (just like before, I could see my network, but it didn’t work)
I tried unplugging everything again, but that didn’t help matters. I decided to try a reset again, but unfortunately this time around, that didn’t work either. When I check the network part in the system preferences, it says I am connected to the internet over Airport (green light shows), but I Safari loads for a few seconds and then tells me I’m not connected to the internet. I thought there may be something up with my DNS settings, but I checked them and everything is entered correctly. I reset everything a third time, thinking there might be something wrong with my Extreme base station (I even tried going back to default firmware but that didn’t help), and just used my Express station. Unfortunately, that didn’t work either (I get a green light on my Express base station, but it just won’t work). That is when I gave up. I tried again one final time this morning and am still getting nowhere.
The odd thing is, I haven’t changed anything…I don’t know why it would suddenly stop working. I hadn’t changed any settings, or messed around with the firmware or anything. I’ve been on the latest Extreme/Express software updates since a couple of months ago and have had no issues whatsoever. When connected directly to my modem, my internet connection works fine – so I’m assuming it’s not an issue with my ISP (UK Online). Since I can’t get both my base stations to work, I’m also assuming there isn’t a physical issue with them. FYI, these base stations are the old ones, not the new 802.11n ones.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be up and/or any suggestions as to what I could try?
    Many thanks.
P.S. I am on OSX Tiger, latest update.

It's always a good idea to completely power cycle the entire network after any changes or updates to a network.
If  you have not already done so.......
Power off everything....all devices....order is not important
Start the modem first and let it run for a minute or two by itself
Start the next device connected to the modem the same way
Start the Airport Express the same way
Start each computer and device one at a time about a minute apart
Check the network for proper operation

  • My  loader has suddenly stopped working

    hello;
I have a flash movie that has been working fine. Yesterday a particular Loader process has started failing.
method A - I have been loading the png from:  http://www.keleia.com/dev/apps/facebook/PuzzleTour/clients/templa/skin/puzzle_marquee_SLO. png  .. yesterday that stopped working BUT my other loaders were working.
method B - So I tried their path-building method:  http://keleia.com/dev/apps/facebook/PuzzleTour/flash/../clients/templa/skin/puzzle_marquee _SLO.png ... and it works ... notice no 'www' and also a directory dip '/flash/../'
These 2 paths point to the same place.
However if I use the A for the many other loaders, it's fine.
Furthermore, this is only happening on my remote server. My local hasn't been affected.
QUESTION: why might A suddenly stop working on one particular loading process?
    thanks,
    Shannon

kglad, thanks for responding ... any thoughts as to why this might have started spontaneously ... I did upload a joomla site to my server 2 days ago ( it is in a very different directory however ) ... maybe the joomla package affected php.ini ( is that even possible ).

  • HT201263 My iPod touch suddenly stopped working. It was fine, but when I went back the screen had gone black and I was unable to turn it on. It is now unresponsive and my computer does not recognize it when it is plugged in. What should I do?

My iPod touch suddenly stopped working. It was fine earlier, but when I went back a few hours later, the screen had gone black and I was unable to turn it on. It is now unresponsive and my computer does not recognize it when it is plugged in. I thought it just needed to be charged but there seems to be a larger issue now. What should I do?

Let your ipod die. Then when it is dead charge it adn turn it back on. After that it should be fine.

  • TS3700 why does my ipod suddenly stop playing

Why does my ipod suddenly stop playing?

is your battery charged?  How many songs do you have on the playlist (if you are playing a  playlist when it stops)?   I know that when the earbud wires are accidentally disconnected from the ipod body, the music stops automatically.

  • HT204266 Why did my lock button suddenly stop working?

I just recently bought the Iphone 5. Its only been a couple of months and my lock button suddenly stopped working. My Iphone 5 isnt the only one that has done this, I know many other people whose phones have done the same thing. Does anyone know why they are doing this?

    Hey destinyw12,
I'd take a look at the iPhone hardware troubleshooting article to see if you can resolve the issue with your Sleep/Wake button:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Specifically, you'll want to look into the section titled "Buttons and Switches" which will be applicable to your situation.
    Take care,
    David
