  • Does anyone know why my iPod Touch 5G battery drains in less than 4 hours?

Hello fellow Apple users. I am having battery issues with my iPod Touch 5G. It's only 6 months old and already the battery is draining quickly. It used to last me around 9-10 hours on a single, full charge (on iOS 6) Playing with games didn't affect the battery very much, so I'm assuming there's a battery bug with iOS 7? If not, may I please hear your suggestions?

You may want to poke around in notifications. There's a ton of stuff defaulted to on that you may not need. As well as background app refresh and background app update. When those are on your iPad regularly reaches out to get more info and that can affect your battery.

  • How many years will an ipod touch's battery last before it needs replaced?

How long will the battery last?

It depends upon how much you use it. Apple says the battery should withstand 400 full charge/discharge cycles and still maintain 80% of original capacity.
The worse you can do is let the battery full discharge and leave it and to always leave it connected to a charger. Apple recommends almost fully discharging and fully charging monthly.

  • IPod Touch batter life is less than a day since the iOS 5 update

My ipod touch recent got the iOS 5 update, and I'm noticing the battery life is a half a day at best. Use to last for several days just sitting on the counter.
Plus I noticed it seems to hang a lot and feel sluggish. I have rebooted it many times, but no luck
    OS Ver: 5.0 (9A334)
    Model : MC540LL
    Am I alone here?
    Thanks.

Yes.  There are other posts on a shorter battery life. To find those use the communities search box in the upper right and search for ios5 AND battery.  They refine search using options and restrict it to the iPod touch forum.

  • My iPhone 5 battery last less than a day, help

What should I do to have a longer battery life on my iPhone 5. I do not use any apps, I only use the phone -and not so much- and check email messages, yet I have to carry my charging cable everywhere because by 5 PM my battery dies.  My blackberry battery lasted 3 times more.

Things I found that eat my battery fast:
    LTE on.
WiFi on when no WiFi available (constantly searching)
Location services on when not needed
Rarely do I need LTE speed, so I just turn it off and go 3G.  You might give it a try.

  • Battery lasts less than 2.5 hours

My MacBook Pro is 3 months old and after installing all my apps and accounts I noticed my battery only lasting 2.5hours on a full charge. I brought my issue to the forum and came to the conclusion that Google Chrome is known to use a lot of CPU and energy, so I wiped the hard drive and did a clean install of OS X 10.9. Without reinstalling Chrom (I used Safari) my battery looked great for about a week, 6-7hours on 100%. But now suddenly, same issue has returned. No more than 2.5 hours on 100% battery. I also notice that the machine is pretty hot especially when comparing it to colleagues MacBook Pro's of the same model.
    Here's the latest screen shot:
Can anyone suggest what could be the issue? I am on the brink of returning it to the store.

    1. Follow these instructions, or these for OS X 10.9 or later.
    2. In the Energy Saver preference pane, uncheck the box marked
Enable Power Nap while on battery power
if it's shown (it may not be.)
    3. You can also try resetting the SMC.
    4. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

  • Battery lasts less than 3 hours

So I have had my blackberry for a bit over a year now. And it was all working fine until a couple of days ago.
Now the battery only seems to last for about 2.5hours, from being 100% to shutting off because of low battery. I havent got applications running in the background, and have read and followed all of the maximise battery life posts.
I used to be able to leave it for a day or more with it being fine.
What can I do to solve this, as it is really inconveniencing my life at the moment, because it just isnt staying on long enough for me to do anything.
If this is any help, I am on Orange.
and its  a blackberry curve 8250 and the battery says 'capacity 1150mAh' and C-S2.
    HELP!
    Thanks

Replace the battery, I don't think BlackBerry will supply them but they're all over Amazon and eBay for as little as £1.50.
Let it completely shut down from full for the first 10 or so charges to help strengthen its life. Should last at least all day with this.
Try and avoid leaving it on charge when its 100% too.

  • Why doesnt ipod touch 5th gen have battery percentage like iphones?

Why deosnt ipod touch 5th generation have battery percentage like iphone i just dont see the problem is it a problem because i think that would really come in handy.

They could have but maybe the idea for the percentage meter was thought up after the original design for the iPod Touch hence why the design for the iPhone's design was slightly altered after the iPod Touch's design was put in to the engineering  process or maybe they just wanted it that way.

  • HT1386 Why do all my playlists disappear when I plug my iPod Touch Gen 5 into iTunes?

When I plug my iPod touch gen 5 into my MacBook into iTunes (the latest version) using my included USB cord, it deletes all of my playlists on the iPod. Why is this and how can I make it stop?

If you don't have the same playlists on your computer, your iPod will sync to your computer. On your computer, while iPod plugged in, go to the top and push the music button. At the top of the new page, push the button called don't sync music

  • Why won't iPod touch get battery percentage?? Is there a way to get battery percentage for iPod

Why won't iPod touch get battery percentage?? Also is there away to get and show battery percentage Accurately? I know about voice over, but is there a way to get it on the status bar like the iPhone and iPad?

    See:

However, as deggie sad it is not accurate on the iPod. Also, some users have reported increased battery drain.

  • Why won't my ipod touch gen 5 play audio on my Sony speaker dock

Why won't my ipod touch gen 5 play audio on my Sony RDP-X30iP speaker dock. I have bought a lightning adapter and find that there is no audio from the speaker dock and the dock does not charge the ipod.

    - Reset the dock
    - Go to Sony's support site and check to see if they say it will work with a 5G iPod touch (w/adopter).
Also look for a firmware update.
    Sometimes this works:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Or, it just may not be compatible.

  • Is ipod touch low battery life normal?

I just bought my new ipod touch. I found the battery life is quite short. Every day i have to charge it twice. Now I am keeping to use my ipod touch as less as possible to manage charging it once a day. This is really not compared to a regular phone, which you probably can use 3 or 4 days to recharge again.
The so-called dock adapter inside the box is quite tricky! I thought it is the power adapter. Normally when you buy a cellphone, it comes with the power adapter. But for ipod touch, you have to buy power adapter separately! I even don't know what's the use of this 'plastic' dock adapter. i called Apple and asked "You call this plastic piece an adapter!". It's a little funny!
During my first week using my ipod touch, it got stuck or crashed TWICE, two times! One time is when it downloaded an email with a 8Mb attachement.
In addition, I feel quite confusing with so many accounts with Apple, such as Apple store account, iTune account, iChat account, MobileMe account, and even this discussion forum account. Now I have 3 Apple IDs!
The use of MacBook is so far so good.
This is my experience with Apple's products!
Welcome comments and sharing your experience! i just couldn't help keeping myself silent.

Is ipod touch low battery life normal
Yes and no. Even in normal usage, Safari and videos can kill the battery in 4 - 5 hours, whereas music with the screen and WiFi off should last for 22 hours. Most iPT's can last for days in sleep mode, even with WiFi left "ON".
My previous iPod Touch had no battery problems -- the charge would only drop significantly when being used, not while sleeping. Now I have a replacement iPod Touch (the previous one couldn't install the 2.0 Update), and this one won't even last overnight in sleep mode.
Here's what I did in my last test: Turned all the WiFi services off -- Push: OFF, Fetch: OFF, Location Services: OFF, Ask to Join Networks: OFF, WiFi: OFF. Fully recharged the iPT, disconnected it and left it shut down overnight. Booted it up the next day, full battery (Okay so far). Next, I left the iPod Touch in sleep mode for the entire day (8am - 6pm), still full battery (Great!). At 9:00pm, turned on WiFi (and none of the other items mentioned above), used Safari for about 15 minutes, battery went down one notch ~ 90%. (Still normal) Put the iPT into sleep mode, but this time with WiFi left "ON". Woke up the next morning, and the battery plummeted to 10% in about 5 minutes. (NOT GOOD AT ALL).
My previous iPod Touch would have still had 90-80% battery the next morning. And while I would generally suspect the 2.0 Update being the culprit, everyone else I know has been running 2.0 without any problems -- no installation problems, no battery problems. I've been cursed with both issues in two separate iPods.
(I should also mention. I have not yet had a chance to install any media or applications on this iPod Touch, so there's no chance an errant application has somehow triggered a battery drain. This is just a plain iPT with the 2.0 Update and a restore of my Safari bookmarks.)

  • My Ipod Touch Gen 5 will not show up in Itunes but it shows up under "My Computer" help!

I have a new Ipod touch gen 5. It shows up under my computer but not under devices in the side bar like it should with Itunes 11. I'm running the latest firmware for my new Itouch and the latest Itunes. I hope I don't have to uninstall my itunes as I have ALOT of music on it. I dont wanna lose it all. I'm running windows 8 and followed the tutorial to a "T" to try to fix the problem but nothing worked. I did everything except the last step. Even checking my Computer for Updates (Itunes will not run if updates to my PC are needed). Help Please!
