Why my left shift button does not work??? It works under windows!!

I once restoreed the computer with Lion, and the left shift worked well at first
But after while, I started to install some software. Suddenly at some unknown time, it stoped working again!!!
I suppose it would be the software conflict
The point is that I don't know which software it is!!

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Aluminum keyboard eject button does not work on Windows XP

I'm wondering if anyone else has the same issue:
the eject disk button on my new aluminum keyboard does not work in Windows XP (Boot Camp).
As I have a Mac Pro, there is no way of manually opening and closing the tray-loading Superdrive.
I can open the drive if I right-click "My Computer>DVD drive>Eject" but there is no way of closing it back. I am obviously not a Windows XP expert, are there ways of mapping the eject function to any key?

Actually, how does Software Update figure out what apps you have available for update?
I always thought that Software Update looks at your /Library/Receipts to check what Apple pkgs you have for update, so I assumed that any Apple-related Pkg would be updated. I may be totally wrong on this, correct me if that is so...but thanks for the info.

AC97 onboard sound DOES NOT WORK under Windows 2000

Just an FYI, the AC97 Audio on your MSI mainboard will not work under Windows 2000, for which the AC97 hardware is not certified. If you try to use it, your audio output will be intermittant at best and will crash your audio applications at worst. A maddening and disheartening problem for people like me who didn't realize the problem existed and spent many hours trying to getting it to go away.

X230T camera does not work under windows 8

Hi!
Is your camera working under Windows 8?
Mine is not. It used to work some time ago, but even then the driver was instable. Now, since a few weeks, it seems not to work at all anymore. Reinstalling the driver does not help.
This may ba a hardware or a software issue, that's why it is important for me to know if yours is working.

As I wrote, I have tried to reinstall the driver without success.
It should be a hardware problem if you are able to run the camera perfectly. Are you using a 64- or 32-bit OS?

Getting input from mouse-wheel: does not work under windows/IE

I have built an applet that extends JApplet. To it I have added a class that extends JPanel implements MouseListener, MouseWheelListener, MouseMotionListener.
I collect input using the method
public void mouseWheelMoved(MouseWheelEvent e){
do stuff...
I have build this on a mac and tested it in firefox and it works fine. But on xp/vista internet explorer, the applet does not respond to mousewheel input. On mac osx /safari it does not work either.
Is there any solution to this problem?

32-bit Oracle ODBC Driver does not work under Windows 64-bit

We have both Oracle Server 64-bit (10.2.0.3) and Oracle Client 32-bit (10.2.0.1) installed on the same Windows 2003 64-bit server.
We can create and test 64-bit Oracle ODBC System DSN using 64-bit ODBC Administrator.
We can also create a 32-bit Oracle ODBC System DSN using 32-bit ODBC Administrator.
However, the "test connection" does not work:
Unable to connect
SQLState=IM003
Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 998 (Oracle in OraClient10g_home32)
We need the 32-bit driver due to 32-bit applications acessing the local 64-bit Oracle server.
How should we accomplish this?

I applied 10.2.0.3 path to Oracle Client 32-bit and now the error is different.
This error message appears 3 times before configuring, creating or testing a System DNS:
"An unsupported operation was attempted."
I just click OK 3 times and then can configure, create or test the DSN.
However the 32-bit application still cannot access Oracle...

NB250-10G - left touchpad button does not work

I have a NB250 10G that until a couple of days ago had worked perfectly.
However, I then found that I could not operate the netbook with the touchpad.
However, all works fine with my USB plug-in mouse.
Everything seemed to be going haywire with the touch pad, but I now know what is wrong.
The right-hand touch-pad button works fine, but the left-hand button is producing the same result as the right-hand one. In other words, I have no working left-hand button - I can't click to open any icons, I can't close down - all that happens is that I get a mini-menu appearing just as with the right-hand button.
An online note to Toshiba has so far not been answered.

Thanks for your suggestion. Have been into the control panel and changed the touchpad keys from right-hander use to left-hander, applied change - No result. Then back to right-hander set up again - still both keys give the same results, ie a normal right-hand key result. But thanks for the help. You also suggest re-installing the mouse driver. Connection to external display does not work under windows bootcamp, with a thunderbolt to vga adapter.

Hello guys, after searching a lot in the forum for an answer to this, I could not find a solution so this is the reason for this post.
I have a Macbook Pro (early 2011 I think) running MacOSX Lion and I have installed Windows 7 64-bit through bootcamp (version 4.0).
Everything works fine except that I cannot connect my external display through my thunderbolt-vga adapter.
The external monitor shows only the boot screen of windows (the one with the windows logo) and then, when I get into the login page it goes blank.
After reading the forum, I have done several things in order to fix this problem such as:
Restarting the macbook with the thunderbolt device connected to it.
Updated to the latest ATI drivers through bootcamp.
Removed the graphics driver and re-install it again.
I have tried to identify the external monitor through windows 'screen resolution' tool (attached photo).
but still no luck.
Does anyone have any idea on what else I could do in order to fix this? By the way, I find it very frustrating that Apple does not have a stable solution to the problem with devices that are connected to the thunderbolt port.

Addin does not work under Windows 2003

I have a few Excel addins with forms and other objects that work fine on my desktop (Windows XP), where I have OO4O installed. Recently a user needed to start using these addins and I installed OO4O on a server using Windows 2003. The user (Windows XP also) connects to the server using Remote Desktop Connection. However when he uses the addins they do not work. The connection to the database is fine, I know that because otherwise some forms would not appear. The problem is when the user presses the first combobox of each form no data appears. If I enter just some text on that combobox, which enables a second combobox, then this second combobox works fine, I can see the database data. When the form allows me to press a button that runs a query I receive the message “Not all variables bound”.
If anybody can help I would very much appreciated.

My mouse can not click to anything left, right or the middle mouse button does not work

I am using a 24 inch imac and the problem is suddenly my mouse can not click to anything left, right or the middle mouse button does not work i can see cursor moving and i can use the features of the keyboard but my mouse dies. I tried to plug in another mouse magic trackpad and my tablet but each has the same problem. I can not click to anything but cursor is moving and computer is not frozen. I have to shut it off from the power button when this happens. Do you have any idea what can cause this and how can i fix this?

Upper left button does not work (Nokia E51)

I have Nokia E51 and only the upper left button of it has not been working since this afternoon, which unlocks the keys (other keys give response.) The phone has not prone to any physical damage or excessive heat so far and I have not made connection with either any computer or another phone. In addition, my father has same phone and he has been experiencing the same problem for a few hours too.
However, the lights on the left side buttons is not working for a long time but I don't know the reason of that also.
I cannot unlock the keys by plugging off the battery. Have you ever experienced same kind of problem and is there anyone who knows the reason or could offer some temporary or permanent solution?

What is wrong with THE iPad Home button. Only a couple of months old. Moderate use at most and the Home button does not work at all. Is this easily sorted out or should the iPad be replaced?

Bring it to a Store. Hardware problems are best sorted out there. Until then use multi-touch-gestures. HOpe this helps.

Windows 8.1 - Upgrade from 8, Start Button Does Not Work

I cannot find a fix for my 8.1 start button.
It works when I move the task bar to the top, right or left but not at the bottom. I ran all windows updates and there are no missing/unknown drivers in device manager. No errors in the event log. I've restarted multiple times and created a new local profile.
I've also tried:
Copy WinX folder under C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows into C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows.
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Any ideas? I would prefer not to do a clean install. Thanks in advance.

Yes, when the taskbar is at the bottom of the screen, I cannot left click on the start button. The machine is also a touch-screen, which does work when I touch the start button. If I move the task bar to the left, right or top; the start button does work.
And what is the kind of the account, Domain? Local? Or both?
This is local machine.

Win + "X" works fine; displays options.

Left-click via the mouse does not work. Touch works fine.
Can you try to copy the WinX folder from a working PC to your PC for a test?
I do not have another Windows 8.1 machine available to me.

The BUY button does not work in iTunes

iTunes will not allow me to buy music. The BUY button does not work. I can drag a song to my Purchased folder and then the BUY button comes up in my Library! And then I can buy the song. However I want to purchase whole albums, not single songs.

It really makes it tough to troubleshoot when there is no error message. So what I'm saying is - I am sort of at a loss. Anyway, try this - close all apps on your iPad, reboot the iPad and then try again.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
