  • Siri doesn't work on my iPhone 5 anymore and it is on and I have done a reset.

Siri doesn't work and I have done a restore of software and it is turned on.

Do you have any accessibility options enabled?
A long press of the home button should bring up Siri, a quick double click of the home button brings up the app switcher. If you have any of the accessibility options under physical and motor enabled (Settings > General > Accessibility), these may be interfering with the home button responding normally.
And do you have a case or screen protector installed? These can interfere with the home button's operation.

  • After installing i0s 7 siri doesn't talk

Installed i0S7 on iphone 5.  When I hold down the home key and talk to Siri, (I put it on the male voice) it doesn't respond anymore.  It just opens and shows a list of "some things you can ask me." SO I've even tried to ask Siri some of the things I can ask, and it no longer responds.
Is there a setting somewhere to actually activate the VOICE for Siri? It worked fine before the new install.
    Thanks
    PJ

Well, I'm so hoping eventually this will be resolved.  I've gone through troubleshooting Siri here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4079.
I'd like to list a few settings that I have and some things I checked to see if there isn't some little thing that is not quite right.  Kind of frustrating because Siri worked fine BEFORE I installed OS7.  And my son and son-in-law both have updated and their Siri works.  So none of us can figure out why mine doesn't.
Under settings > Privacy > Microphone > Applications that have requested access to the microphone will appear here.  I have none that have accessed the microphone.
I can make calls.  People hear me; I can hear them.  My music plays.
Does Siri use a DIFFERENT speaker???
Under Privacy > Locations Services, Siri has a gray arrow: A gray location servicds icon will appear next to an item that has used your location within the last 24 hours.  Apparently Siri is using my location because there IS a gray arrow, but Siri still doesn't respond.
The line, wave sound, whatever that is called when you talk to Siri is "flat." When family talks to Siri, and when I used to talk to Siri, the line was wavy when I spoke.  My Siri has flatlined! It just shows me things I CAN ask Siri.  Even if I choose to ask those specific questions, Siri does not respond.
Under Settings > Privacy > location services are on, and under that is Contacts, calendars, reminders, photos, bluetooth sharing, microphone.  Says in "location services" settings, turn on BOTH "location servies," and "reminders."  Mine does not show "reminders." However, under Settings > Notification Services > I DO have "reminders" turned ON.
THen I found this: Verify that both the mic in the receiver opening and the mic near the rear camera are not blocked.  How do I verify this?? Nothing has changed since the OS7 install.  My camera works, front and back.
Other than that, I cannot think of anything else to do in order to get Siri working AGAIN.
I hope that with the added information I gave you, MAYBE, just MAYBE you may find something that is amiss.  I miss my Siri! Wah!
And if the mic was no good, then I couldn't speak into the phone and have someone else hear me, right? Or does Siri have her own mic???
Just to reiterate, in order to keep this in mind: Siri was working before the OS7 install.  I changed nothing.  Just installed the new OS update.
Could there be some conflict with my iphone 5 and OS7??? It's not a new iphone 5s or whatever they are; it's just iphone 5.
Also, I RESTORED my phone too thinking that would spark something.  Didn't.
Thanks for ANY possible suggestions to continue the SEARCH for Siri on my iphone.

  • Why my photos doesn't move from my iphone to my macbook?

    ?

Your signature says you have 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). Is this correct? (If it isn't, please amend it to prevent confusion.)
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.2 (Mountain Lion preferred).

  • Why my contacts doesn't appear in my iPhone after synchronizing with iTunes?

Hello, I have a problem with the syncronitzation of my contacts.
I will explain all and it will be so great if there is somebody who knows how to solve the problem...
I have different devices of apple with different Software:
    Two Iphones:
    a 3G (16GB) with iOS 4.2.1
and an Iphone 4 (16GB) with iOS 5.0
    Two computers:
    an iMac OS X with 10.4.11 (Tiger) (Details: 2GHz Intel Core Duo + 2GB 667 MHz DDR2)
an Macbook Pro OS X with 10.7.2 (Lion) (Details: 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo + 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3)
    A Time capusle
I also have a mobilme account and I just transfer all the information to iCloud.
Until here all is ok. So where is my problem?
I have just install Lion to my Macbook pro and iOS5  to my Iphone 4, and until here all is working, but my problem is now with the rest of the devices.
As I cannot install iOS5 on the iPhone 3 it does not synchronize with iCloud. The same happens with the iMac - as I cannot install Lion I can not synch with iCloud.
To make it work I tried to restore the iPhone 3 and reimport the back-up that I had on the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 3. It worked but it did NOT copy the contacts and the calendar.
Thus, it all goes down to one question - can I somehow configure all the devices to be able to synch automatically through the net? And if the answer is really no - what other options do I have to synch all of them?

  • Siri doesn't work on the iOS 6 on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2

Siri doesn't work on the iPhone 4 and iPad 2 when I upgraded to the iOS 6

Correct. It is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and the new iPad (3) only.

  • Why doesn't siri know how to change the time of a reminder? When asked, "Do you want to confirm or cancel your reminder?" Reply, "Can I change the time to a half hour later?" Siri doesn't know how to respond.

    Hi
    In iMovie'11 (version 9.0.x)
    on top menu row - Apple/iMovie/File/Edit/Cut (Can vary dep. on language - in Swedish Apple/iMovie/Arkiv/Redigera/Klipp . . . )
down Cut menu - Slow playback/Raspid Playback/Re-play in Slow Motion and onvards
Here one can select the Pre-Set speeds
Are you familiar with getting 'inspector' to run?
No - but I guess that Double Click on clip/sequense or ctrl-Click on it might open it.

  • "why siri" doesn't seem to work unless we are charging the phone

"why Siri" doesn't work unless we are charging our phones, why?

I get that it's a safety issue and battery drain both, to not allow it unless plugged in but does that mean Google ("Ok Google") doesn't care about our safety?
It's poor implementation I think. Battery drain isn't at all horrible on Android when it's always listening and I'm not starting that argument because i like iPhone and Apple just as well but it seems like there could have been other battery saving things to disable other than one that's very handy regardless of having to be plugged in.

  • Why Siri doesn't turn on flashlight!???

When I ask Siri to turn on flashlight, it simply says "I'm afraid I can't do that"! I wonder Siri on my 4s afraid to turn it on while I've seen Siri easily does that on an iPhone 5! Why is it so?

Yeah but I've seen Siri to turn on flashlight, that's why I thought to post here in discussions to know whether it's a problem with just my iPhone 4S.
Now that you're saying it's not working with your 5s as well, don't know why is it so but I thnk it's kinda country-limited feature of Siri, like working in the United States and not other countries. What do you thnk?

  • TS4079 Siri doesn't understand me

I am a Londoner and Siri doesn't understand me! Why is that.. I talk full English but he don't type what I ask... What am I doin wrong?

It appears that Siri is an Internet-server-based service.  I personally was not aware of that until now.  Voice-to-text in Mail started failing, and then I tried plain old Siri, and it said that it couldn't connect to the network.
Sounds like Apple needs to add a few more servers!
Anyway, it knows your name by looking at your address-book entry.  I noticed that it would occasionally say things like, "sorry me, I can't do that."  I had created a nickname for myself, many years ago, of "me" so that I could quickly add myself to the CC list of an Email message.  When I removed that nickname it started using my real name instead.

  • TS3581 why does siri use the INTERNAL speaker of my iphone 5 and ipad 3 while connected to my car stereo, instead of my car's speakers like all other audio functions? Isn't that the whole point of Siri? I can't hear her at all. useless.

this is so frustrating.  I can't hear the responses over the road noise so instead, I must look at the screen and read her responses (Safety first, right).   Why just siri? all the other functions output audio through my car's speakers, but someone decided to make siri even MORE difficult to use??? Please apple, if this is a glitch, can you add it to the list and get siri working and fix this safety issue before someone dies?

I think apple doesn't support using siri while driving.
Cause it can distract you from driving.

  • Siri doesn't recognize my daughter's nickname... Never spells it right.

My daughter's name is Alison, and I have a contact for her and have told Siri she's my daughter. Her nickname, is Ali and is entered into the nickname field in Contacts. Siri doesn't recognize it. If I say, "Send a text to Ali," she says "To whom should I send it?" If I use the name "Ali" in a document, email, or text, I get "Allie" or "Alley" but never "Ali." There is no phonetic nickname field. I've tried phonetic first name, but it doesn't work. Short of listing her first name as "Ali" (getting rid of "Alison" altogether) and using the phonetic first name field (which some users have suggested doing but with only mixed results), is there any way to teach Siri to spell Ali's name correctly and to recognize her nickname when being asked to perform actions? This is a minor but persistent nuisance. Thanks for any help you all may have!

You may find SIRI to be a slow learner. Who, BTW, is akin to Skynet of Terminator fame. The phone's main involvement is digitizing your mumblings and handing all over to some processing center God-knows-where, for military-grade technology to try and come up with something to utter back. If it can't contact the mother ship, it will time out and spew the generic "can't help you now, try later" blurb. All this courtesy of the Stanford Research Institute who developed this for the US/DOD a few years back. Hence the moniker. Back to our regularly scheduled programming after this history flash.
Have patience and Silly Siri may eventually get it.  It's supposed to learn.
If you want a bit of Siri Comic Relief, try and catch the Big Bang Theory episode where Raj falls in love with Siri, who's the only female he can talk to without being half drunk....
