Why No "Delete" Button on a Song's "Info" Pane
If I highlight a song in iTunes and click "Command-I" it opens an information pane about the song. If I click the "Summary" tab I get useful info about such things as the type of sound file and the bit rate. I can move sequentially from one song to another by clicking the "Previous" or "Next" buttons, which allows me to compare the quality and location of duplicate songs I may have in my library.
I don't understand why Apple has not included a "Delete" button here so I can remove duplicates quickly because, for example, they may have too low a bit rate for my listening pleasure.
Anyone know if there's a script to add this function?

A script could not add such a function to the Info pages. That would have to be done in the coding of iTunes. You can suggest that to Apple here, if you wish:

But are you aware that you can show the Kind and Bit Rate as columns in the main iTunes library listing or in any playlist? Just control-click on any of the column headers and you can select what columns you want to show. You can then sort by the kind or bit rate, or by the song title, and much more easily see what duplicates you have and their specifications. To me that's a lot easier way to deal with duplicate tracks.
There are also scripts on Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes to help manage duplicate tracks. Just search for "duplicate" and you should find them.

Songs can be removed from your iPhone by tapping 'Songs,' then swiping the song, then tapping Delete.
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

Delete Button not appearing in cFolders
Hi All,
The user is allowed to upload the document in the cFolders. In the screen where the list of files uploaded is displayed, there are buttons like 'Create', 'Copy' etc. But here there is no option to delete the uploaded file.
Can any one suggest why the 'Delete' Button is not appearing.....

Are you using custom roles?
Authorization to delete is missing.
Two ways you could get that :
1) authorization object CFX_OBJ should have activity 'delete' (06) in your profile
or else authorization object ACO_SUPER with activity 'Admin' ( not recommended)
2) Enable delete authorization via BBP_CFOLDER_BADI method col_authority_change

Delete Button Disabled in Outlook 2010 with Exchange 2013
I recently switched from a 3rd party mail software to Microsoft Exchange. I have had some users ask me why the Delete button is disabled. I didn't enable any special policy to cause this, and the Delete key on the keyboard will delete messages.
The disabled Delete button I am referring to is in the Home ribbon and the right-click menu for selected e-mail(s). Is this standard behavior for Exchange, and can it be changed?It so happens that I have an XP VM with Outlook 2007. That having been said, as previously mentioned, before testing, I (thought I) could confirm the same consistent behavior in the following configurations:
WinXP + Outlook 2003
Win7 + Outlook 2010
Each of these systems was using a different user account, and I have tried folderview repairs in EMC to no avail.
Strangely, WinXP + Outlook 2007 does not appear to exhibit the behavior. In this test case, the profile and OST were just created, but switching to folderview or moving the reading pane to the bottom did not affect the behavior.
Given that information, I proceeded to re-verify, and I hadn't checked winXP + Outlook 2003 because the computer in question had been upgraded to Outlook 2010. However, I verified the issue does still exist there. Next, I proceeded to check another
computer that I thought would be WinXP + Outlook 2003, but it had also been upgraded to Outlook 2010. This computer did not have the issue, and this leads me to a new theory about the cause (but no closer to resolution). For the record, of the
three computers (two exhibiting the issue, one not), only one has the Adobe plugin mentioned in my last post in response to Diane Poremsky, so the issue doesn't appear to be related to that.
That said, my theory follows: This is somehow related to IMAP in Outlook 2010. The computers that exhibit the issue were all previously running IMAP in Outlook 2010, and the IMAP PST filse were imported using the MailboxImportRequest feature.
I suspect this is related because of other issues that happen for these accounts. For instance, all new e-mail was only visible in OWA and not Outlook on all folders on these accounts, and I have had to have the users reset filters in the view settings
for each folder individually. I don't remember exactly which filter was somehow imported, but it definitely had to do with IMAP. This may be another red herring, but the behavior is consistent with it. I should also note that this behavior
did NOT exist when they were connected via IMAP to the old (non MS) server. I should also note that the filter behavior is somehow stored on the server (and therefore I imagine the delete button behavior could be as well), because creating a new Windows
Profile (and as such, a new Outlook profile and OST file) on a new computer did not make the IMAP filters go away. -
About a month ago a song randomly appeared in my songs list and when I tried swiping to the left to delete the song it wouldn't slide over to show the delete button. The delete slide appears with all of my other songs except that one. The ICloud songs are turned off and it wasn't iTunes Radio. 2 more songs like this have appeared and I can't delete them from both my iPhone or my computer (they don't even show up on my computer). If somebody knows how to fix this that would be amazing! Thank You.

I am trying to free up some room on my touch and am unable to delete any songs or books from the listing. With iTumes open and my touch listed I open the touch. I then select the items I want to delete from the touch and press the delete button. Nothing happens. I have also tried to right click on the item, but a delete option is not listed. What do I need to do to get rid of some books?

It is possible that the files are read only or you do not have permission to delete for the music folder in Windows.
If you go into Get Info for a track, will it let you edit? If not it is probably one of the above. -

If the songs are downloaded into your iTunes library (i.e. they don't have the cloud icon against them) then you should be able to delete them by selecting them and pressing the delete button on your keyboard.
If they do have the cloud icon then they are in the cloud - you can turn off the showing of all icloud music via the 'Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases' on the Store tab in iTunes > Preferences (command-comma), or you can hide individual tracks and/or albums so that they don't show in the cloud : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases. -
HT204022 why delete button is faded on photo stream
Why cant i delete my old photos on my new ipad. The delete button doesn't light up for the function even after ticking my unwanted photos.
Just recently upgraded to IOS 7.
Clicked photo app
went to photo stream album (there is an <Album button on top left then top right you can choose Select Bottom has a Photo's icon and and album icon) no trash icon
Hit select - pick the photos I want deleted.
Only available courses of action now are to cancel top right
or send by message, mail, twitter etc bottom left
or Add to bottom right
In selecting add to there is no trash available only other albums or a new album. -
Why does edit button says 'delete' or 'apply'
In iCal when I create a new event and begin to edit it, the btton on the lower right of the event window seems to sometimes say 'delete' and at other times 'apply'. Can anybody explain why this is or if there are any rules which govern this behaviour? On more then one occassion I've entered the details of a new event (or edited an older one) and then unwittingly hit the 'delete' button and lost the lot. Driving me nuts!

Same problem. Very annoying. I have made a personnalized title using Motion. And everytime I use it in FCPX, it crashes. The worst of all : I am unable to open the current project. I have found that if I removed the preset made with Motion, the FCPX would open, but a missing title alert. S the only way is to place the title again. And after a few atempts, FCPX crashes again. And so on…
So sorry, no real solutions, but at least I don't feel alone. -
I'm editing a band by deleting songs I do not like on iTunes on my PC. When I believe I'm deleting a song it ends up deleting ALL of the songs by that band (this is after I've deleted many individual songs sucessfully)! This has happened twice since the new version of iTunes. The first time I tried to restore the songs from my recycle bin but they just vanished when I tried to restore them. The second time (today) the songs were not even in the recycle bin. Has this happened to anyone else out there? I have to now relocate all of those cd's and then reinstall them and go through them and put songs back onto various playlists (I have a lot of them). Hassle!!!

Why is there no delete button on pictures which I synced from my computer
The photos which I synced to my iPad from my computer do not have delete buttons; those which were Camera Roll do have the trashcan icon. How can I delete a photo from a synced album?
If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.
