Why no download for evaluating POSReady 2009?

Hi
I'm interested in having a hands-on play with POSReady 2009, but it seems I have to order a REAL piece of plastic which will cost me quite a lot to get shipped to the other side of the planet...
Why isn't there an ISO image available for download & evaluation like most other MS products?
At this stage I'm seriously contemplating finding a naughty download on the web just to have a play with - I'd rather not talk to any local distributors/partners and get their hopes up yet until I see if the product has any real benefits for our mixture of hardware & software.

I'm confused by your response.
Presently, I can (and have done so) download an ISO image of:
Windows Server 2008 (time trial evaluation)
Windows Server 2008 R2 Release Candidate
Windows 7 Release Candidate
Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 Release Candidate
All of which I can burn to a DVD myself, giving me a bootable media as you say "for installing directly onto a target device"
I then just request the requisite key from Microsoft using my Live ID, allowing a trial/evaluation of the product.
Why does Microsoft not provide a similar evaluation scheme for POSReady 2009?
There must be a reason or key difference with POSReady 2009 compared to the other MS products listed above - I just don't understand what the reason is...
Yes, I'm aware I can order the eval "kit" online - as I said above it will cost me quite a bit to get the piece of plastic shipped to the other side of the planet.
An ISO image download saves what is really a pointless (arcane) postage of a piece of plastic surely?
I don't have any specific questions at this stage no. I possibly will have specific questions after I've had a hands-on play with it...

I have recently installed Microsoft's Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 or Windows XP on my Dell latitude D510. Anytime I try to log off, shut down, or restart it says logging off with the bar going across but even after 1/2 an hour the thing still says
that. I tried disabling my sound card, reinstalling the driver, and the Microsoft UPH thing but still nothing. Anytime I want to turn off my laptop I have to hold down the power button which I know is bad for it but I have no choice! Any
help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Why no download for CR 7.3?

Why do I have to go through PS CS6? I prefer to download & archive all apps, updates, and patches for future use if needed.
Hope this isn't the start of a permanent trend.

Well, I just don't accept that it "is so common knowledge". It might be to you, because you just happen to be aware of that particular page. I, and I bet a heck of a lot of others, have never seen it before and have never had cause to look for it or been referred to it.
Furthermore, the page you have referenced, at the time of its creation, speaks, specifically and only, about the 7.3 upgrade. What guarantee have we that when the next release of ACR (7.4?) comes out that this page will be updated? I'll answer that: absolutely none. What is the prospect that it will be updated? Who can tell, but I'll venture a guess: very slim!
There is simply no excuse for Adobe not listing the direct download URL along with all the other Adobe download updates.

POSready 2009 Shutdown/Restart command

I am trying to set up automatic restart for a POSReady 2009 device, but so far nothing is working.
I am using this command: C:\Windows\system32\shutdown.exe -r -f
I have set it to run as current user/only when user is logged on. This user isn't Admin it has been set as limited account, is there anything I have missed?

try this:
shutdown.exe /r /f /t 0
The /t 0 (zero) will reboot the system immediately.

She is making in app purchases. Probably not knowing what that means to your monthly credit card bill. Use the Settings app to enable restrictions and turn on restrictions for iTunes, App Store and in app purchases, mabe some others too. The restrictions will be set with a passcode to prevent your daughter from changing them.

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

go to internet tools -> under related products you see Headstart. There you can download the evaluation copy and all documentation.

Check permissions and ownership of the files. Maybe this helps....

I found the Windows version easily. Can't seem to find the Mac or Linux versions. I suggest giving your local NI representative a call and asking them for help.

i tried to re download a purchased audio book after i contacted apple support team for iTunes they said it would be ready for re download or they said id have to re download it from iTunes store i cant remember, so i tried both couldn't re download it from purchased menu and the book id have to re download from iTunes store costs money as if i have never purchased what do i do? I don't have any warranty any more or money to purchase another warranty.

I have bought 1 MacbookPor 17, 1 Macbook air, 1 MacbookPro 15 , 2 ipads, 3 iphones, and this iMac27 and 2 of iMAC24 or 20 not sure   but I do not recall ever doing what you are telling me in your reply.   When you get a extended car warranty, you don't   sign up for it.. it is just there and is included in the sale.   You don't buy this warranty to use it.. You buy it, in case something happens.   Here a perfect iMAC with minimum 100 hour useage has a dead drive. That is not normal and I should not have to even be requesting anything since most MFG offer a 3-5 year warranty on their disc drives and I believe that is probably passed on to Apple regardless if an extended warranty is purchased or not.   Customer service dictates a more flexible approach to make sure the lifetime value of a customer is not lost due to some misunderstanding.
I was in the MacStore that I purchased the unit..and they found and pulled the invoice and confirmed
the purchase of it in front of me. I had paid with credit card and fortunately it was there in their system.   I do not also recall recieving any box or paper although most everything I ever get remains sealed.. I am not in the habit of opening anything since I have never encountered any serious issues before.
   I have used my Macbookpro warranty 1 time and that is all throughout the years I have been investing in Apple equipment.
I just recieved a letter from the store asking me to get the paper to them so they can register it... I don't recall getting any paper actually. But I do have several boxes sealed here.. On this iMAC27, it was a hurry up and get it done thing and I don't remember taking anything extra with it.   Regardless, my request does not seem unreasonable.

The apps are free with iOS 7 if you purchased a new device after September 2013. The apps do not come free just because you are running iOS 7 now. Did you purchase or receive a new iPad recently?
If you did, are you using the same Apple ID to get the apps that you used to activate the iPad? If you are, sign out of your ID, restart your iPad, sign in again and go back to the App Syore and see if the apps show up as free.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad and go back to the settings and sign in again.
