Why no iPod speed option for podcasts?

Question

I convert all of my podcasts to AAC bookmarkable format.
The original goal of this process was to allow me to use the speed option on the iPod to change the playback speed.
However, this option is unavailable for podcasts. I'm not sure what is causing this. Any other MP3 file I convert to AAC bookmarkable can be speeded up on the iPod, regardless of whether it's genre is Podcast.
This is pretty irritating.

Sort of but not.
If I pull up an old spreadsheet in either the new Numbers or in iCloud, the custom formats I created in the previous Numbers are still showing on the spreadsheet and can even be called up under the Cell tab in the inspector. So the use and display of these custom data formats works. What is missing is the ability to create a new custom format under the new Numbers.
I've sent feedback to Apple requesting they re-install this important feature:

My work-around for the time being will have to be creating spreadsheets and new Custom Data Formats using my previous version of Numbers (whch I did not overwrite or nuke, luckily) and opening THAT spreadsheet in the New Numbers.
Not awesome, certainly, but at least it lets me create custom cell formats, something I need to do rather frequently for work.
Apple, please reinstate this very helpful feature ASAP!!
