Why no MAC on outside Boxes on the new MX products

Hello.
I would really like to know from our Cisco colleagues, why there is no MAC info printed on the outside. MX700 or 800. Interestingly, the SX10 has it.
If you would like to provision on a UCM in advance, this kind of info is very helpful and especially if you ship it directly.
It would save time and errors.
Regards
Danny

Hi Danny,
While it doesn't answer your question as to why it's not written on the box (although I don't have any 700s of 800s to check) - a possible work around for your situation is to retrieve the MAC address for the device from the http://www.cisco.com/go/licence web site using the serial number.  Do a "Get Other Licences", "Tandberg Licences to Resend", pop in the serial number and it'll bring up all the licencing details of the endpoint - one of the things listed is the MAC Address.

Put simply, the minimum system requirements for iTunes have changed. You need a Mac running at least OS X 10.6.8.
It's best you look online to see if your model of Mac can be upgraded to at least 10.6.8 "Snow Leopard". It should still be possible to order a copy of Snow Leopard if so.

For Snow Leopard you require version 2.1.4. However AFAIK you can't buy this from Apple any more: the current version requires Lion 10.7.5 at minimum.
Amazon are offering v.2.1.1 in the UK - this is not compatible with Snow Leopard either but you should be able to apply an upgrade to 2.1.4. -

I can't guarantee this will work. You may be able to get advice in the Aperture forum.
Your only other alternative is to upgrade your Mac to Lion 10.7.5 if it us compatible, and buy the current version.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.

  • Any difference to my current black box and the new...

I've been very curious about this new black BT Vision box on the BT website for a while and I was wondering if there was any difference to my one and a half year old box and the new box? Other than the new software.
Also I was wondering why they were dispatching boxes with the BT Vision writing on the left side or the right side of the box itself. Are they for employees? Are they for trialist? Could they be different models? Im really sorry about the questions, it's just that I am very curious about new things
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The original silver box had the hard disk running constantly.  It was hopeless on power efficiency - I measured mine at 25W operating and 24W on standby.
Eventually BT listened to the criticism and a later version of the software spun down the disk on standby.  It looks as though BT are going backwards on this one.

  • Need help!  I have a plug-ins issue in illustrator CS4 after updating my MAC OS from Mavericks to the new YOSIMITE

    Hi,
My Adobe CS 4 ran perfectly find up until I updated my MAC OS from Mavericks to the new YOSIMITE. When I launch illustrator CS4 I get a window message the reads   "some plug-ins in the additional Plug-ins folder are conflicting with application or user plug-ins. It will skip loading plug-ins from additional plug-ins folder."  there is a OK button that I must click on to close the message window and then illustrator will continue loading process, then a second window will appear reading  "Error loading plug-ins.  PhotoshopImport.aip"  there is a OK button that I must click on to close the message window and then illustrator will continue loading and launch.
The problem is when I open a current file that has a psd link I will get a window message reading  "could not find a plug-in to read the link file _______ choose repair to locate the missing file, replace to select another file, or ignore to leave the link unchange."   When selecting a psd link /file it is greyed out which I cannot select it.  I can not select, choose, import or open any files/links that is a psd.
Would someone please help me resolve this issue please!!!

I have the same issue! Did you get a solution yet?

I'll venture that your problem here is that you're using two very different versions of Mac OS X.  The USB adapter has been useful to me when making big downloads or while using other networks, but it might not be your case.
Here's what I would advise, though it may be less than stellar:  Copy the files you need into folders and move them through a USB flash drive or using that external hard drive of yours. (Could the format be the reason your MBA can't see it?). Some stuff like calendars and contacts can be exported too. At least in Lion, I haven't used Tiger in a while.
    Good luck.

  • 2 boxes with the new software.

I was wondering if there is any change running 2 boxes with the new software, does it still cause problems. I've got a youview box and a black BT vision running at the same time and thats fine. Just wondering if the new software makes the boxes more independant.

It is interesting that your Black Box is still able to access Catch-up services after your migration to YouView.
You will have two problems i trying to use TWO Black boxes on your line:
    1) If you buy a box on eBay, it will probably be running the Classic Software and it will not necessarily update itself to New Look. The Classic Firmware does NOT easily co-exist with anything.
    2) Two Black boxes do not co-exist well on a single line. Anything you try to record on one MAY record on the other or both or neither. The two boxes will try to synchronise their current recording schedules and this will cause conflicts.
I also found out recently that the Black Box ID is "Registered" to your line so BT may clean up their system databases in the future and cause your box(es) to cease working.

  • Do refurbished iPods come in the same box as the new ones?

I was wondering if refurbished iPods come in the same box as the new ones? In other words, if you didn't know it was refurbished, would everything look and feel the same, even down to the packaging of the product?
    Thanks.

I am not sure in your country. In Hong Kong, the service centre will only pack the refurbished iPod with a plastic bag. They would not give us an extra box.
The refurbished iPods look 100% new to me (I have got three refurbished in the past few years)

  • Why quality sytem disk space  should be the same as Production disk space

    Hi All,
Why quality sytem disk space should be the same as Production system disk space. Please give few points and also the impact if the disk spaces are not same. Its URGENT.

    Karunakar,
It all depends on what you do with your QA system. I personally don't think QA and Prod should be of the same size.
QA is your testing environment, the one where you perform the final tests and validations before going to Prod.
In my personal experience and practice, for QA:
    - Daily loads of Master Data - Master Data is good to keep it updated, for obvious reasons
    - No daily transactions loads - You can load your transaction data on demand, depending on the specific area you need to test. You can initialize and load sample periods or sets of data. Once you're done, that's it.
    - No copy from BW Prod to QA - You really don't need to. As far as they do "refresh" from R/3 Prod to R/3 QA, you'll have data in QA good enough to test. Also, copying Prod to QA in BW can mess your transports sequence and put the systems out of sync or make you re-transport requests that were already in QA but not in Prod. Also, by doing those copies, it's like having two Production systems to maintain... Your landscape and maintenance costs will grow much faster
In my opinion, Development and QA have a controlled growing, following those guidelines. Only Prod will keep growing during time, which makes sense.
    My 2 cents...
    Regards,
    Luis

  • Why is it that we are shown the new Lion OS only on a MacBookAir and not on an iMac which does not have a swipe facility?

Why is it that we are shown the new Lion OS only on a MacBookAir and not on an iMac which does not have a swipe facility?

I think Apple are so proud of the new gesturing system that they overemphasized it.  I also think that they are emphasizing the swiping to attract phone and iPad users, who use swipes exclusively.

I recently purchased an old iMac G3 Macintosh. I was wondering, is there a way where I can update it without using an external disc? I've seen the newer Apple products with the dock, if I update my iMac G3, will it have that, and if so, how can I do that?

I was wondering, is there a way where I can update it without using an external disc?
If you mean the iMac does not have an internal optical drive capable of reading DVDs, the only option requires another Mac with a DVD-capable drive and FireWire ports. Your iMac G3 will also require FireWire ports. Not all G3 iMacs have Firewire. FW started with the Summer 2000 models with 400mHz and faster processors.
With FireWire, you can use FireWire Target Disk mode to install from a retail OS install DVD in another Mac. If you supplemental info info tells us if you have another Mac with a DVD reader and the FW ports, we can walk you through the process.
If the iMac has a tray-loading drive, I'd forget it. They are very limited not only in the OS max (10.3.9) but also in RAM capability. Starting with the slot-loading iMac G3s, the max RAM increased to 1 GB (2 X 512MB modlules). Tiger likes 1GB RAM.
Understand that pre-Intel Macs are getting harder to use. Even with 10.4.11, your choice of browsers is limited (TenFourFox is the most viable option) and the G3s  rudimentary video hardware means web browsing will be choppy at best.
If you are in the USA, you can try calling the Apple Store (1-800-MY-APPLE) for an OS disk. As recently as Jan 20, someone posted here that they were able to buy Tiger by calling. It was not clear whether the disks were replacement system install/restore disks or full retail install, but it's a free call.
When you do "About this Mac" to check teh OS verion, also look at the processor speed and tell us what that says. That can help with recommendations for an upgrade path.

  • Why is it that search box in the centre of the homepage does not work, though it works fine on a secondary user page on the same computer?

Recently updated to latest version of Firefox. On my home page of Mozilla, there is the Firefox "ball" icon and underneath, two long boxes. The first has the word "search" next to it and the second is emty. I can type into the upper box, but when I click search, nothing happens.
My wife is a secondary user and has her own logon. Her mozilla homepage is slightly different in that the lower of the two boxes on the homepage conatins "Thank you for choosing Firefox..." and when a question is typed into the search box, clicking on search works fine.

Thanks the-edmeister that put me on the right track. I was having the same problem and in the console was an error: -
    Error: gSearchEngine is null
    Source File: chrome://browser/content/aboutHome.js
This lead me to a thread that discusses this: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=637639
The solution proposed, to go to the about:home page and enter the following into the URL bar, worked for me.
    javascript:{localStorage["search-engine"]="{\"name\":\"Google\",\"searchUrl\":\"http://www.google.com/search?q=_searchTerms_&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a\"}";void(0);}
I also had DOM storage enabled during upgrade and indeed all of the time (unless something is messing about with it in the background).
A VERY irritating bug because while you can easily set your home page elsewhere you still feel like there is something broken in the background and actually there is as there is no explanation as to why the problem occurred with DOM stored on.
