Why No Mini Bridge in AI CS6?

Am I the only one that thinks this feature would be really a time saver in AI.
I mean since you can drag and drop from the finder images and files into AI and the mini bridge brings the finder to your work space I think it would be helpful to not have to refocus to the finder or us explorer on windows to locate your assets.
I am wondering why I never hear about the lack of this feature when it is popular in Photoshop and Premiere and other Adobe applications.
Just wondering, also wondering why Adobe just doesn't do this for all the apps?

I am not certain you understand what I see as a time saving feature this is not about information as such but about access to files the information is fine but asset management is a more important issue and first things first as far as making the feature request both the Bridge and the Mini Bridge are feature requests I made long before there was such features.
I was curious about why it was not implimented in all the programs as it shouldd have been done by now?
Phtoshop has it, InDesign has the Mini Bridge and Premiere Pro and Audition have media browsers so I don't really see the reason not to include such a feature.
As far as more information that might be a good feature request.
I just need access to files right now.

Mini Bridge inside of CS6 cannot browse to other locations

You are unable to navigate (browse) to a new location using the MINI BRIDGE inside of CS6, You are prompted with message "Waiting for CS6..." and norhing happens.

What have you done so far to troubleshoot this?
Some things to suggest:
Make sure Bridge is launched and started
Restart Photohsop
Restart the computer
If any of these steps don't fix it, please provide your system info located in Photoshop's Help > System info dialog box.

I can't open Bridge and Mini Bridge from Photoshop CS6 (64bit)

I can't open Bridge CS6 64(Bit) and Mini Bridge from Photoshop CS6 (64bit), I get an error message (APPCRASH ). I can open only Bridge (32bit) as a stand alone program.
Operating system Windows 7 (64bit).

Why No Mini Bridge In AI CS 5?

The mini bridge is rapidly becoming my favorite features but it is not available in Illustrator, Illustrator supports drag and drop from the find as does Photoshop CS 5, I am glad that Photoshop now supports drag and drop from the finder but wonder why they did not bother to bring the mini bridge to illustrator which would make it simpler to find items to drag and drop with the the need to exit the document foocus.
Doesn't quit make sense to not support this feature in Illustrator which would benefit greatly for it.

But InDesign has it as well and I think this is like the craziest omission I can think of and they have made some serious ones in the past.
Hopefully the next version all the apps will have it and that in case there are any problems it will be done in the way so that it will not cause any unforeseen difficulties.

Mini Bridge not sorting (CS6/Lion)

Hey, what's going on? Is this user error, or is it a bug?

I would recommend by starting with the Adobe Support Advisor - http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/. It will automatically review your installation logs and attempt to locate solutions.
Alternately you can view the installation logs yourself by following the directions listed in Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

Mini Bridge CS6 nav pod needs sorting

How can I resort the folders shown in the Navigation Pod of Mini Bridge in InDesign CS6? They seem to be in a completely random order, and I would at least like to see them in conventional alphanumeric order. I have no problem re-sorting the content in the main viewing panel.

Item appears twice in Mini Bridge InDesign CS6

One of our guys here keeps seeing duplicate items in Mini Bridge in InDesign CS6. When looking at the folder in Bridge, Finder or Windows Explorer, we can see just one of each image in there, but looking at the folder via Mini Bridge shows one or two of the images in duplicate.
It seems it doesn't matter which of the duplicates he drags on the page, either of them works fine. But it is cluttering up his Mini Bridge panel and he's worried that he might accidentally delete items by trying to get rid of the duplicates.
It only affects this one user. I've suggested deleting his InDesign preference files it's not fixing the problem.
Any suggestions? I have to say that Mini Bridge in InDesign CS6 has been surprisingly problematic compared with CS5. I wish Adobe had left it alone.

I suspect the problem is in Bridge, not ID.
Try clearing the Bridge caches or, if that doesn't work, resetting the Bridge prefs. On my Windows system you can do either of those by holding down Ctrl + Alt + Shift as Bridge starts up. On Mac I presume Cmd + Control + Opt + Shift would work the same.

Bridge & Mini Bridge

I am running Windows 7 home premium and I noticed when I launch Bridge from the file menu and then close out of Bridge it knocks Mini Bridge off line and it needs to reconnect. This happens if I click the "X" or if I go through the file menu to exit Bridge. What is up with that? Currently I have Mini Bridge launching from its last folder location with the start up of CS6. Why should Mini Bridge close and need reconnecting if i am closing Bridge?

So we the users are going to play the reconnection game. I have mini bridge open to my working folder when I close CS6. When I relaunch CS6 it automatically opens mini bridge and loads its last folder location, which would be my working folder. That is great because it saves me time to have it automatically open this location for me. Because it automatically launches mini bridge "bridge" is launched and the "BR" icon shows up in my task bar area. So far so good. Now I need to find a new image to work on. Mini bridge is not the ideal way to search, so I open "Big Bridge" and with its much improved speed I happily find my next project. I load it to CS6 and begin work with the intention of saving this to my working file that is displayed in mini bridge. I'm now done with "Big Bridge", so I close it and now I have to "reconnect" mini bridge. Not a big deal I just hit the button right? I get to hit the reconnect button every single time I close "Big Bridge" because it affects both. So, what is the point of having the ability to view two different file locations if I truly can not use them independently of each other, because if I close "Big Bridge" I have to go back and reconnect mini bridge every time. That would be kind of like having an Ipod that I'm playing music on and I leave the music area to use my kindle app but the music stops playing because I left that area to go read. Am I the only only who opens multiple folders when searching or working with images? Even though much faster could bridge once again be the ho hum feature of CS6 because it is not user friendly?

Cannot view folders in mini bridge

Hello,
when trying to use mini bridge in ID CS6, I cannot view folders. I can look at drives, and places such as desk top, but it will only find individual image files, and cannot find any folders. As most of my assest are in folders, this is exceedingly frustrating. I remember CS5 not having this issue. Is there a preference or setting I am missing, or is this how Adobe always "improves" their products when they update.

I have done that, but it still does not find folders. Specifically, let's say folders within folders. I mentioned that I can find places, such as desktop, but it won't find 'folders' on my desktop. Just indivdual files. Here is a screen shot of what I mean. On my desk top, I happen to have a folder of assets, but it is not finding it when I have 'desk top' highlighted in the navigation. This is a problem that there seems to be now answer for.

Photoshop CS6: Mini Bridge's Reveal in Bridge clears Bridge Filter list

I have Bridge CS6's Filter List set to reveal jpegs,PSDs,PNGs,and Tiff files,because those are the common file types I open in Photoshop. I even turn on "Keep Filter when browsing",so I do not have to repeat in each folder.
Then later I will be in Photoshop using the handy mini-bridge. I move to a folder and decide to use the Reveal in Bridge button for a certain image. Clicking on that image does indeed reveal it in Bridge,but it also turns off all my filter selections and I have to set them again.
Any fix for this?

Adobe needs to realize that if "as designed" results in users thinking it's a bug or otherwise not useful — then it's a bad design choice and should be revised. They need to leave options in place for people that don't agree with some of their "new" aka bad ideas.
Assuming users don't want to use Mini Bridge vertically is just ridiculous — especially since you can't dock it to the bottom in InDesign like you can in Photoshop.
And not showing folders in the thumbnail view is most unintuative thing to do here. If it's a Mini Bridge, why doesn't it behave like bridge and at least have a check box for filtering out folders or something.
Mini Bridge is kind of useless now.

CS6 Mini Bridge - Thumbnail size and preview

I've just upgraded to CS6 (design & web premium) and was setting up my workspace in InDesign, and after adding (docking) Mini Bridge there seems to be no preview or anyway to change the size of the thumbnails I can view.
I use Mini Bridge a lot as we have folders that include 100+ assets in, and it's good to see a small thumbnail to quick scan, then to click on it to see more detail. Now all I can see is a maximum of 6 thumbnails, which means I will need to scroll a lot to find anything.
I've read the following topic from the PS CS6 Beta forum (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4286375#4286375#4286375), and was wondering if this "as designed" thinking has been rolled over to InDesign, meaning that in order to change the thumbnail size (with no preview), I have to have Mini Bridge undocked and if I want to see more detail, I have to enlarge the thumbnail, then reduce again to carry on searching?
If so, it seems like a massive oversight, as InDesign is a layout tool and having easy access to multiple documents to include (and to see what they are) is vital, which isn't helped by the seemingly arcane way to access folders.
Hopefully this is me just being a bit dim and missing something obvious, otherwise it's going to cause a lot of hassle in my day to day work.
If anyone has a definitive answer, that would be great.

Unable to launch mini bridge in CS6

With PS and Bridge open, I'm unable to open mini bridge. Get a display saying 'Waiting for Bridge CS6'... Running on Mac OSX 10.7.4 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, RAM 4GB.
Anyone got any idea what's wrong?

From Mac 10.7 onwards the library folder under Users was hidden, please find the instruction to navigate there.

I am trying to use the Mini Bridge in Adobe Photoshop CS6 (desktop) and all I get is "Waiting for Bridge CS6 ..." in the panel at the bottom of the screen.

I am running on a Core i7 iMac with 20GB or RAM and have already done the two applicable steps in the main Adobe help area relating to Switchboard (Error: Waiting for Bridge | Mini Bridge panel) to no avail. Any ideas?

Have you tried to start the bridge CS6 then open Photoshop CS6 try to use the mini bridge.
I have a problem on windows too. Sometimes when I open CS6 version 13.1.2 and try to use the mini bridge Its panels has a message Bridge must be running and there is a launch bridge button. When I use that button Bridge gets launched but may hangs before displaying its application window or anything in the mini bridge panel. I can terminate the bridge when this happens with windows task manager and start the bridge. After doing that the mini bridge launch button became a reconnect button using it mini bridge then work.
I can also start Bridge CS6 before Photoshop CS6 and mini bridge works as soon as Photoshop is up and running.
