Why nokia is not implementing VOIP in Nseries..?

hi,
i think nseries is a very good option for all mob lovers and users.
but stil nokia is doing the old and tricky marketing.
they anounced only a few phones with camera wit above 3 mp.
and they did nt release any Nseries wit VOIP.
Whats your opinion....?
nokia should implement business features into atleast some of the Nseries phns.
like N73, N80 and N95...

There are a number of third-party apps that offer handwriting support. If you are asking why Apple has not implemented handwriting as a standard feature of iOS, no one here will know, though clearly avoiding the need for a stylus is a design decision Apple made a long time ago. You can suggest handwriting support as a standard feature to them here, if you wish:

Ok Why Does Boolean NOT implement Comparable

Ok.. im looking for a logical reason to why Boolean does NOT implement Comparable?
Every other wrapper does. ( Integer, Double ect.. ) Just not Boolean..
anyone got any logical guesses as to Why?
( just for context here is how i came upon this.. )
I have a quicksort algorythm that reads in an arraylist and does some manipulation of it. All that is demands is that the objects in the list be comparable. This algorythm has worked beautifully (and fast) for serveral months.. till someone put a Boolean in the list.. doh!

Using the collections.sort() would mean that each object would have to implement comparable anyways. It also means that these objects would only be sortable by one set of tests. I wish to sort my objects by any of their properties. Hence now my properties must implement comparable. ( given that this app usings mostly int, double and String its not a big deal) What surprised me was the Double did not implement comparable where all other wrappers did.. thats it..
mostly i was just currious as to if there was a larger reason to why it was not implemented other than we just could not decided which should be valued higher :)

Why Nokia is not listening to N97 users?

It is a big shame to Nokia that it even do not reply saying, we are sorry about the inconvineance caused because of N97, we are trying to fix it, wait for so many days.
It will give lot of relief to me because from last so many years i am using only Nokia, and i can't even think of others (may be that is what made Nokia so reluctent).
I had visited Nokia Care Centre 4 times after taking this phone (5 times i have updated my firmware usng PC with two times hard reset) but NCC do not do anything, i had given my charger adapter and headset for faulty replacement do you know the best part is both periphels came as it was, no change. F***** O**

You know i am really not having any problem with my N97 as of now (but unlucky me it started from last night after posting here
I work in garment industry, do you know if my customer not satisfied with my shirts he throws it on my face (remember we do not claim any warranty ) but as a "customer is the king" we do listen to him and replace or discount him if there is any problem.
Doesn't that sound ethical or professional to be loyal to their warranty? Many people complain about paying extra money for softwears (like quickoffice, PDF reader, Joikuspot etc., ) i am not complaining that because it is my fault to purchase such a heafty phone if it doesn't comes with these softwears, fine i agree because that was the deal.
But how can i accept a faulty headphone?

Why Nokia does not test new features beforehand

Nokia mail is renewed. Fine. Everything looks fine at ovi.mail service but I got at night all posts I have ever received again as doubled and as new mail to my mobile phone Nokia N8!
Why don't they test these things before publishing?

I think i understand what you are going through, and nokia really needs to look carefully to every nokia user's need.
But to let you know that the last nokia camera free phone is E51 camera free version released two years ago.
You might missed that, but still 2 years without new camera free phone is too much.

Vector does NOT implement Serializable

Hi :
can anyone think of a reason why Vector does not implement Serializable?
Suppose, I want to send a Vector of TimingResults accross a dataStream,
now TimingResult is a class that I created which does implement Serializable, yet I am getting erroneus results everytime ....

according to the 1.4.1 docs, Vector does implement the

Why hasn't Apple implemented a way to cancel "update all" ?

I have tried all the suggestions. Turning off wifi. Airplane mode. Turning off the device. Reset settings. None of these things help.
I have been reading posts about this issue that go back YEARS. Why has Apple not implemented a "cancel updates" ? Why was any potentially lengthy process ever let out the door without a way to cancel it?

It is a technical support question.
There have been many people posting about this problem for years.
I have seen NO response from an Apple rep. (Thank you for the feedback URL, I will use it)
None of the user-supplied ideas seem to have worked for me or any of the previous victims of this problem.
I did, however, find a way out. Not to cancel, but to get it to finish.

Why latest firmware not available for my region?.....

I have nokia N70 music edition and my firmware version is 5.0705.3.0.1 RM84. This is the latest vesion available for my region. But for europe the firmware version is 5.0737.3.0.1. My google search result, it is possible to instal the 5.0735 version in mobile also, then why nokia is not ready to give the OS for online upgradation......
I found another mobile which is brought from asia region with europe firmware.... Its working great speed.

Skype has not published a native version of its messaging application for Nokia Series 40 devices. Therefore, it is not possible as of this moment.

I am posting my refined query here in continuation to my post Fundamental and crucial drawback with Flex in Flex India Community as my last refined query was left unanswered though I feel there is a definite sense of purpose to it.
Why plugin/addon concept for Runtime Shared Libraries not implemented in Flex?
Here is why I feel it should be implemented in Flex.
Though Runtime Shared Libraries SWF file can be cached in the client browser and just need to be loaded only once when the user access a Flex application for the first time,

Qouting from 'Best Practices for Speeding Up Your Web Site' as described in Tenni Theurer's blog post Browser Cache Usage - Exposed!
While still retaining the cacheability of RSL's for compatibility reasons, flex should give the flexibility and thereby enhance performance by offering RSL's as a plugin/addon.

I finally skimmed through the links you posted. The terms plugin and addon
are not in either of the articles so I'm unclear what you are suggesting.
The topic seems to be about application performance. The Flash Player
supports a cross-domain cache of actionscript libraries separate from the
browser cache. Each official release of Flex contains a set of these
libraries. As new Flash Player versions or new Flex versions are released,
and users visit sites utilizing those new versions, the browser picks up the
latest Flash Player and the Flash Player picks up the latest Flex libraries.
These days, it only takes a few months for a new Flash Player to achieve
major saturation in browsers although it still takes a bit longer for Flex
libraries to achieve saturation.
Adobe will soon be hosting these libraries so if you build your application
to leverage these libraries, you will find that the total download from your
server will be minimized, limited to only your application code and assets,
although you might want to serve the libraries in case they are not already
in the cache if you see high latency to the Adobe servers on a cache miss.
The SWF or SWFs you do serve off your servers should be optimized through
normal good application development practices. Flex provides features such
as deferred instantiation in its ViewStack and Accordion containers to defer
the creation of objects until viewed. Flex has a ModuleManager to allow you
to not download parts of your application until they are needed. A
model-view or MVC architecture will make it easier to create modular
boundaries within your application and leverage these features.

Having read the FAQ on the Nokia Homepage (I'm assuming this is what you meant...) this is what is mentioned.
"Nokia Belle is specifically tailored to each phone model, including the Nokia 500. Due to technical specifications, Nokia Belle for Nokia 500 differs to other Nokia Belle phones in the following aspects:
Nokia 500 with Nokia Belle only supports 4 homescreens.
Nokia 500 does not support NFC.
FM transmitter and widget are not supported in Nokia 500.
Nokia 500 includes Nokia Maps 3.06 instead of 3.08.
Additionally, Nokia 500 will get Angry Birds with the Nokia Belle update"
Basically, due to technical limitations, you will get
1) 4 homescreens
2) There is no NFC or FM transmitter therefore you do not get THOSE widgets.
You SHOULD get all the other widgets (the only reason you will not get the FM and NFC widgets is because you don't have that hardware. That's how I read it anyway.

Semaphores: sem_getvalue not implemented: why? when? workaround?

It seems sem_getvalue is not implemented on Darwin.

I need to share a value between two or more processes and I need to be able to atomically increase it. Using MACH semaphores does not help (no getvalue there either). One option I could see would be to use shared memory, but then I'd also have to use a named semaphore to atomically increase the value in there, but this all is starting to get quite convoluted for what is a basic functionality of named semaphores. So I'm open to any suggestion, surely someone else must have run into this problem before (like in porting Unix code to Darwin for example).

semctl is for System V semaphores, you can't use it with a pthread semaphore. I would have to re-write everything using System V semaphores rather than named pthread semaphores, which is what I am trying to avoid in the first place.
I actually find it a bit strange that System V and pthread semaphore calls are making "see also" reference to each other in the man pages while they are obviously completely different implementations (of the same semaphore concept)...

Native Webservices - ERROR 501: Not Implemented ... why?

I'm running Oracle xe 11G.
Recently I've tried to setup Native Web Services. I set up the database and user accordingly, defined a testfunction and accessed the database with following URL:
http://localhost:8080/orawsv/GUT/TESTWS?wsdl
This worked.
I did another test at another database, where I set up a defined user for webservices and granted this user execution privileges on the same testfunction. Accessing this function via SQL works OK. But when I issue a similar URL (http://localhost:8080/wwwsss/WSBRAN/TESTWS?wsdl) I get:
"ERROR 501: Not Implemented."
I did not find an error in my setup yet - so maybe somebody can hint me on the deeper meaning of this error! Where can I look to fix this?

FUNCTION NOT IMPLEMENTED error when calling C# method from SAP, why?

I've build a server stub in order to get SAP calling my own methods that exist in the C# world, for that I developed several methods in a class that extends SAPServer and then implemented them...
I added the special custom properties needed (Abap Name, length, etc) to the function and to its parameters, I've made the ABAP code required to call it...
I've checked, every parameters that I place in ABAP (importing, exporting and tables) are also defined in C# (its 53 parameters) with the same name (in C# they are in capital letters and in a diferent order but I tried this before and it didn't matter)...
The name of the function is the same...
How can I get the 'FUNCTION NOT IMPLEMENT' error in SAP?
What's going wrong when I get this error?
Can anyone tell me?
Is there any place in this site that has a error description and possible reasons?
When I get a parameter wrong I get a different error (I tried to make smaller functions and they work fine).

I'll explain what I'm doing:
- we have a set of services made in a C and VB that are available using an API in C#, these services must be available to SAP. So I have a program that will see what parameters the API service requires and makes a proxy so that SAP can call these services.
To do this I must map SAP types with C#, build the function signature and then implement it. So I cannot use the wizard to do this
Now, back to the question, what kind of customer attributes I got wrong to get that exception? The most logic is the AbapName of the function but they are equal (the one called in SAP and the one in the customer attributes of the function)...

I can do this in photoshop but one should be able to do it in lightroom.
I always have huge pictures form the d800 which the client is only requesting 2048 pixel sizes images. i would like to crop to see what I can crop out before I output to the desired sizes.
Shame it is not implemented yet. Paid upgrade to 5 will have it right as a new feature?

The Lightroom designers made some choices. You don't have to agree with them, but I disagree with you.

You crop the photo the way you want it, to the desired aspect ratio, leaving out whatever you choose, and then change the size to the desired number of pixels on export. This works perfectly well in your situation. You are losing nothing in this example by not having the full capability of photoshop

Congrats to the LR designers for leaving this out. You can always suggest new features, but I don't think this one will make it.
