Why not put a color picker in photoshop benchmarks?

why not put a color picker in photoshop benchmarks?

Your message says "Photoshop" in the subject, but what does a color picker have to do with benchmarks?  Could you explain more clearly what you're hoping to see accomplished?
Are you wanting to see a color picker operated 10,000 times to see how many seconds it takes to do that?
Is there an underlying problem, such as slowness in the operation of your color picker, that you're trying to expose here?

  • Photoshop color field not working in color picker

My color field is not working properly in my color picker. How do you fix this?
WRONG (what my color picking is doing) :
CORRECT (how it should work) :

The catchall first step in correction is to reset the tool which, in this case, is the Eyedropper.
With the Eyedropper chosen, right click here:
If that doesn't solve the problem, a logical next step would be to reset your Preferences.
    To reset Preferences:
If Photoshop is already open on your screen, close it (Quit). Then hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and start Photoshop.
A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to delete the existing Preferences file (the "Settings"). Click Yes in the dialog box. The existing Preferences file will be scrapped and a new one will be created.

  • Eye dropper tool not working! (color picker)

Okay, I am fairly new to photoshop, so maybe I am doing something wrong.  My eye dropper tool is not working at all.
Say I want to select the color of someone's face.  I click my eye dropper, then click somewhere on the subject's face.  My foreground and background colors both become white (when one was previously black).  I click on a green shirt... both are still white.  I click something black... both are still white.  Am I going about color picking wrong?  I have tried the sample size as point sample, 3X3 and 5X5.  No luck.
    How do you color pick?

Make sure you are selecting the right tool. It's in the Draw section of tools. Please donot confuse it with Red eye removal tool.
Try resetting the Editor's preferences. To do it, close Editor. Open Welcome Screen. Before clicking to launch Editor, press Ctrl+ Alt+Shift and then launch Editor. It will open a dialog box. Click Yes. See if this helps.

  • Photshop CS5 paint bucket colors do not match selected color picker colors

I recently installed CS5 on my laptop after first removing it from my previous machine.
All licences were validated so no problems there.
Now when using paint bucket in photoshop, the colors that I select in the color picker are not the colors that result when I use the paint bucket.
If I create a new black canvas then the colors selected in color picker work with paint bucket.
But if I attempt to recolor the background in an existing image that I import into photoshop, I get the mismatch with colors when I use paint bucket. My method for selecting colors is the same in each case, I select 'set foreground color' and set the color using html values entry at the bottom of the panel.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Try changing Image > Mode to RGB – does the Tool work as expected then?
    To quote from the Help:
    Indexed Color mode
Indexed Color mode produces 8-bit image files with up to 256 colors. When converting to indexed color, Photoshop builds a color lookup table (CLUT), which stores and indexes the colors in the image. If a color in the original image does not appear in the table, the program chooses the closest one or uses dithering to simulate the color using available colors.
Although its palette of colors is limited, indexed color can reduce file size yet maintain the visual quality needed for multimedia presentations, web pages, and the like. Limited editing is available in this mode. For extensive editing, you should convert temporarily to RGB mode. Indexed color files can be saved in Photoshop, BMP, DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine), GIF, Photoshop EPS, Large Document Format (PSB), PCX, Photoshop PDF, Photoshop Raw, Photoshop 2.0, PICT, PNG, Targa®, or TIFF formats.

  • Can I pop out the color picker in Photoshop CS6?

    Hey everyone,
I am doing digital painting in Photoshop CS6, and would love it if I could keep my color picker open in a separate window. Does anyone know how to do this? I've seen an artist named Feng Zu do this in a painting tutorial video, but he doesn't explain how.
    Thanks!

You can also get to a HUD (Heads Up Display) version of the Color Picker by holding down the Control+Option+Command keys on a Mac (Alt+Shift+Right Click on a PC, I believe)
But I personally find the HUD color picker unintuitive and problematic.
If you find a way to keep a floating Color Picker window, post back. That could be convenient.

  • Color Picker Freezing Photoshop

So, I've been having this issue for a while now where the color picker will completely freeze up Photoshop CS5 which usually means I have to force quit. It usually happens when I am trying to change the color of the text using the character window. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the age of my computer, but I would like to be sure before I contemplate upgrading anything.
    Here are my system specs:
    Model Identifier: MacPro1,1
    OSX 10.5.8
    Processor: 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Xeon
    Memory: 16 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
If you need any more info to help me fix this, just let me know. Thanks!

If you are working with text it may be a bad font.  Try same procedure with a different font and see what happens.

  • My color picker in Photoshop CS3

.....picks up really random colors outside the open window ( works okay within it). Originally after upgrade it wouldn't pick up colors at all, I tried to find a solution, which included changing teh prefs to set back to only one screen as suggested in one forum, this improved it somewhat, it now picks up a color but it is incorrect ( totally random) Any ideas?
    Thanks

That was the solution exactly! You don't need to know how to design the space shuttle to make an impact on the world. Your solution makes the creation of a website to help preserve the culture of the indigenous Inuit people of Baffin Island so much easier

  • Why not put all VMs and replicas in the same default folder?

By default, VMs are stored in \hyper-v\vm and replicas are stored in \hyper-v\replica\.  So, when you failover, your new mission-critical VM is located in the replica folder.  This is confusing and
its a pain to move the replica back to the default hyper-v\vm folder.
    Comments and suggestions welcomed.

It's your system. Do whatever you want to do.
But Replica is meant for DR. Most people wouldn't consider running out of the DR facility to be a permanent situation. I suspect they'd rather know at a glance whether or not they're dealing with an original or a replica.

  • Fill color not same as color picker

Hey there, thanx for any help i can get... here is my problem... i am working in cmyk - U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2... i need to get a specific red and so i am going to print some tests...
    c 0
    m 100
    y 90
    k 0
i entered these values into my color box and then made a selection on a new layer... when i fill the selection with the color the new layer reads:
    c 0
    m 100
    y 89
    k 0
Every time... dont know what my problem can be... could it be a screen calibration issue... however i recalibrate every month.
    thanx again for any suggestions.!

Some kind of rounding error looks like. CMYK always uses percentage when in fact its using a scale of 0 to 255, in each channel.
Behaves the same way for me too. I remember slight discrepancies like this in my CMYK days.  The color can be CORRECTED to 0.100.90.0, but like you say choosing this as a foreground and filling, results in an incorrect yellow value by one point. CMYK profile is irrelevant.
Take a curve and pull the yellow 100 input to 99. Honestly in the real wolrld printing is so inaccurate that single percentage values make no difference.

  • Why would i get 'The Connection Is Untrusted' when i attempt to go to the Mozilla support page? Why not put something in the error log specifically for this?

Because i'm connecting to a Mozilla site with firefox 'Untrusted' seems unnecessary.
If i were a Mozilla browser i'd trust that site.
I reinstalled Mozilla and it fixed the problem.
    Seemed an odd error though.

This is this support article: [["This Connection is Untrusted" error message appears - What to do]]...
I am surprised that reinstalling Firefox fixed this. Perhaps a file got corrupted during the previous upgrade?
There are many reasons that an SSL certificate might not be considered trustworthy, but at this point, I don't think we'll be able to investigate the exact reason you had that problem since it won't be possible to re-create it.

  • Photoshop Color Picker not popping up?

Whenever I click on the color picker in Photoshop CS5, it is defaulting to opening up the eyedropper tool instead of the color chooser option. The eyedropper tool is not working correctly either. Does anybody know what setting might be causing the issue?

You can right click on the tool to open the flyout which contains the other tools.
    Try a tool reset:
