Why on earth? Because Verizon (and soon AT&T as well) are very good at capitalizing on peoples' ignorance. That's NOT to say people are STUPID, but they don't have a feel for exactly what they are buying with these data caps. I can't count how many times I have walked into a VZ store, heard a rep tell someone $30 for 2 Gig or whatever, and the customer just looks starry-eyed back at him and asks: "But how much IS that though?" This is a serious vulnerability to price gouging in this digital age of 5-10 Gig DVDs and 1 Terabyte hard drives. Not to mention video streaming at 1.25 Gig per 2 hour movie.
Bulk discounts are one thing (that's how economy of scale works) but inconsistent data pricing that's all over the map is quite another thing altogether. $50 for 1 Gig..$30 for 2 Gig...$60 for 2 Gig...$30 for 4 Gig..$50 for 4 Gig....$70 for 4 Gig...$40 for 300 Meg (!!!!). Yes, ALL of these prices currently exist as part of Verizon's pricing models on one plan or another.
Verizon's CFO has himself said to his own investors, that these sharing plans were intended to be "profit-generating engines." Indeed they certainly are. But not at MY expense, thank you very much.

I reinstalled my mac os x, and anytime i try to update my software its asking me for an administrators name and password, i enter it and it comes back wrong, and that is the only one i have, i have been to keychain but it does not make any sense to me,

a black screen with white type appears, when it's finished, dbackspace any extra ssss you have made and then type
ls /Users
(that's Larry, Sam, space, slash, Users)
and press return, a list of user names on the machine appears
type exit and reboot and use the 10.6 disk to reset your password

Try booting to the Recovery drive, running Disk Utility and Repair disk and Repair Permissions.
1. Reboot and immediately hold down command and R (two keys).
2. When you see the screen shown on this page, select Disk Utility and continue.
3. When DU is running, select the hard drove on the left, First Aid and Repair Disk.
4. After Repair Disk, click Repair Permissions.
Quit DU and restart.

Thanks. Your suggestion is good but it does not allow me to scan multiple page documents and get a unique pdf file (I get as many files as there are pages in the document). With the HP scan software it was possible to do it but this software does not work any longer with Maveriks. I do hope that this problem will be solved as soon as possible.

I get a lot of activity show in mail activity that does not appear in my inbox. The most recent was 9 outgoing messages when I sent one email and then right after 71 incoming mail messages and none show up in my inbox. Consistency is not there. I check my junk folder as well and the messages do not go there. I used to have a couple of macs on my network with the same email address, but I've since removed those accounts off the other computers. It is setup as IMAP account as well.

I am trying to backup the movies and TV show that I purchase from Itunes onto a cd or DVD, and nothing seems to work. I tried using CD-R, CD+R, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW and they all failed. Is it possible to back up to an external hard drive instead of a CD?

I know this isn't a complete answer because I am not sure why or if your backups to CD/DVD are not working, but one thing I do know is yes you indeed can backup any of your iTunes Media (music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, etc.) to an external hard drive. In fact, it's recommended that you do this anyway (in case of a hard drive crash, computer being stolen, etc.)
You can manually back up your movies by finding them in your iTunes Media folder, or since you have a Mac you can just use Time Machine, which will automatically back up either your entire computer (or only certain folders and items if you want). It's pretty handy. I use a 1TB external and Time Machine to keep everything backed up including my iTunes

Compare data and output data that does not exist

i wrote a procedure to insert the data into a 3rd table where i compare the data between two tables, if it matches it shouls insert into the test_a table. if the does not exist either one of the tables i.e. test_code and test_type it should output that data where it doesn't exist. my code works for only one table i.e. test_code. its not dbms outputing a row that is not in test_type table. could any tell my why?suppose if test_code a row that is not in test_type it should output saying this row mismatches with test_type and vice versa.

You need to use a FULL OUTER JOIN instead an OUTER JOIN for that.
Just curious, why do you need to use dbms_output instead of running the SQL query with additional conditions (the if part of your procedure)?. You can use it twice, one to insert the ones that match, and one for selecting the others that do not match.

I'm still looking for a solution for contrast for the back arrow and the "x" that does not light up unless I roll my cursor across it.

I have asked this question a couple of weeks ago and have not received any suggestions on how to change it. My back arrow is the same color as the box it resides in, they are both black. The "x" in the tab section does not show until I roll my cursor over it. I would like to know how to change the colors in those areas

HT5127 I had one day left on my trial version of final cut pro x so decided to purchase the full version. Now I have both versions and the full version does not have any of the events or projects in it. What can I do?

Patricl, please answer Russ's question; and fear not, deleting or installing a version of FCP X does not delete or move any of your media or projects.
If the trial was from an older version (10.0.x), there is a necessary update procedure. 10.1.x uses libraries to organize your content, and the older stuff must be converted to the new organizational scheme, but it is well worth it.

Recently whenever I start a youtube vid , the IDM 'download this' bar always shows 2 MB file size . I think the videos are streaming in 2 MB partitions - which explains why vids start buffering every now and then . This does not happen on ubuntu . Help!
