WHY ONLY a 2-FOOT CORD APPLE???

+I posted this on feedback, but I would really love to know if anyone has a logical answer or feels the same way I do:+
Okay, I've just wasted over 2 hours looking online and calling your sales force to find a real APPLE charging cord that is longer then the ridiculously short 2-foot one that comes standard with products listed above. I bought an off-brand one a while back and it was ok for charging but did not work to sync.
I was just informed by your salesperson help that this does not exist and that I will need to purchase a Griffin or other brand of USB extender cable and end up having yet another piece to tote around.
I cannot fathom that a company as brilliant and forward thinking as Apple thinks that 24 inches of length is adequate for all users of iphone 3Gs, 4 and ipad to work with! I am even willing to pay 3 times what other brands charge to have a real Apple cord I know will work. Do you think that we are supposed to squat down near a wall outlet and lean over to continue using these tools when the charge is running low without buying yet another extension USB to add on, or have an extension AC cord at desk height????? What about when I'm traveling & am at a hotel, etc?
I am an *extremely loyal* Apple user, love my iphone, mac mini, macbook pro, and your extremely great tech help. HOWEVER I just can't believe you wouldn't think ahead to provide something so elementally necessary. WHAT GIVES??? I am tired of bending over to be near enough a plug and can't believe I have to buy an extra extender from someone else and that you don't offer a REAL APPLE longer charging cord yourselves. I just hope I am wrong and that it is my mistake that I'm not looking in the right place to find one to buy. Because if I'm not, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??????? I am mad I just wasted so much of my own time.
I will still love all my Apple everything, but this is unbelievable to me. Am I alone in this? Anyone?

No one from Apple here, just us users but wow... all that because you think the cable is too short? I think it's a bit short too but not something worth writing a treatise about. As was suggested, just buy a USB extender for a few bucks and move on... life is too short (pun intended ) to get worked up over meaningless things such as this.

Two reasons:
The movie companies control what Apple can sell/rent - sometimes they simply change it to purchase only or rental only.
Secondly, if your Settings for Itunes store are set to HD sometimes you won't see an option to purchase or even teh movie at all if it's only available in SD.
There are also sometimes discrepancies between iTunes on computer and AppleTV implying the stores work slightly differently or have different connections. Check if it's available in iTunes.

Why do I have 2 different Apple ID's? And can I combine them to 1?

Why, when MobileMe was shuttered, does Apple NOT support calendar subscriptions for iCal (Calendar)? I upgraded to Mountain Lion and cannot migrate my Dutch, U.K., Islamic, or Catholic holiday subscriptions.

I had a heck of a time getting my Detroit Tigers Baseball team schedules migrated (but Major League Baseball supported the subscriptions, so it occurred). As I work internationally, having these calendar subscriptions on the new Calendar would be very useful.
If one goes to the Apple site, and seeks calendars [http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/calendars/index1.html], they are shunted to MobileMe [https://www.icloud.com/mobileme/not_found/], with the note "MobileMe is closed. Go to iCloud." But, I do not see how to get subscriptions from iCloud.

The problem is that many of these calendars were hosted on MobileMe. I actually tried about 20 at random, and only two worked! Not all of the failures were ex-MobileMe, some were on other servers but produced 'File Not Found'.
Strangely, this one worked despite its URL:
http://ical.mac.com/ical/UK32Holidays.ics
Until the people who publish these calendars (it's not Apple, they are third-party) wake up and find alternative servers these calendars are not available.
There may be other sources which work - try Googling.

Why only 5gb space if owning more than one device?

I own 3 iphones and 2 ipads. Why only 5gb icloud space? I feel a bit ripped off here!
Each of these products should come with its own 5gb space.

Sure you can get 5gb space for each product if you create account for each product and then having to pay for apps for each product. Its a total ripoff:(

Forcing me to in some way pay 50 bucks extra a year for security backup space is not fair in any way. I would actually pay for extra space for pictures etc. If i did not feel that apple were trying to take even more money from my wallet:/

-Use a separated Apple ID for each iPhone for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime.
-Use the current one for iTunes and App Stores. (This way you will pay ones for each app).
-Export your Camera Roll to a Computer just like you do with a Digital Camera Card. (This way you will save space from iCloud and from devices.
-Use one of these 3 account to sync your iPads with the account you want or make a 4th or 5th account if you don't want to sync iCloud data with one of you iPhones.
Remind that you can add more than one iCloud account (secondary account) if you want to sync some data from iCloud. (For example you can sync your iPhone Contacts in your iPad even if you are using another iCloud account (primary) in this iPad).
Also you can share a calendar between devices that using a different iCloud account.

MacBook Pro with retina price in US is USD1299 and same product price in Germany is 1299 Euro. Why???

Obviously all the answers up here are true.. but I think that was not the real meaning behind the question.
Every country has different currencies that not only convert differently to others but have a different and relative value for the inhabitants. For example although Forex says 1,3$ = 1€ for the average European and American 1$=1€.. that means that roughly inside your country what you buy inUS for 1$ you get in Europe for 1€ (ex: McDonalds hamburger).
Also each country has it's own taxes, different renting prices (for apple store), different VAT, etc...
But the real question is. Is Apple NEUTRAL to market conditions?
This means... does Apple adapt their margin on products to local conditions or not?
To make it simple... Let's say Apple ... everything considered... gets 100$ for an iPhone sold in US... Will Apple fix their price in other countries so that, after paying local taxes, local costs, etc... still.. for each iPhone they earn 100$ ??
Or they have different market strategies such as rising the prices in countries where people are richer and more likely to buy iPhones even if "overcharged"? Or on the other side.. do they lower prices in poor countries (obviously not under production cost) to help locals buy in Iphone?
I think that Apple is doing their best to stay neutral to the market.. that is... We want 100$ at the end of the day.. whatever...
So we have paradoxes because in some countries iPhone costs more while in these countries people earn less (and I think this is not random.. but happens because.. usually.. countries with more regulations and taxes are also countries with lower wages... but that's politics!)
Here is a small comparison of iPhone 6 (16 Gb version) prices:

As you can see Apple seems not to care about living conditions in the country or about average wages etc.. they just have their price adjusted to local regulations and taxes. Europe has 2years warranty service for items sold in Apple Stores (and 1 for items sold in other stores where Apple is responsible only for the first year). We also have some other taxes... For example, here in Italy, we have a tax on hard drives (goes by the Gbyte) that affects any multimedia product. Tax is meant to finance artists whom you are supposedly "stealing" by having unauthorised copies on your portable device... (I know.. is ridiculous). Etc...

I don't know why when i used a new apple ID and new icloud ID all my information is done. My contracts are all gone. This only happen on on phone. When i was changing the other phones it works fine. Nothing is lost. So i dont understand when i was changing the apple ID and icloud Id the information is lost. You know when you go to setting and you click iCloud and i saw that the contracts book was light on. Does that matter? Does that cause i lost my contracts?

I don't think the iPhone is really designed for people to be switching from one Apple ID to another so when you do so you may experience problems. You have two options on the iPhone for where you can be accessing contacts, from iCloud and the iPhone itself. You can also pull contacts off of a SIM card but they are then stored on the iPhone and not accessed from the SIM card.
You could try this;
1. Go to Settings > iCloud
2. Sign in to the Apple ID that you want the Contacts from,
3. Turn "On" the Contacts slider and let it download all of your contacts
4. When it's done downloading, turn the slider back to "Off" and you should get a message like this..."What would you like to do with the previously synced iCloud contacts on your iPhone?"
5. Then select "Keep on My iPhone"
Then after that you can then sign out of that Apple ID and into your other Apple ID and the contacts shouls still be there.

Thanks for the reply. I went back to check if there was a history in windows (Event Viewer) but could not locate it in Win7. The only updates that were in the Apple Updater window were the Quicktime and ITunes. Had I let the Realplayer continue on its own, it would have installed the Google Chrome and other apps. I let it finish installing and then removed the entire program. I do not remember checking or seeing anything saying that realplayer was being downloaded until after a reboot was requested from the ITunes Update Installer.
I just thought it was strange since I do not use Realplayer and have not downloaded any software for it.
I am on a corporate PC with a pretty thick firewall, but something may have slipped through.

Indeed how long does Apple take to carry out its part of the process.
It seems to me that Orange are just trying to stall me despite the fact that I am out of contract with them now. I originally paid to have the phone unlocked back last November. This was never done.
I have phoned them numerous times over the last two months but still they haven't done it. Can anyone advise me and has anyone had similar problems with them.

I certainly understand that only Orange can unlock my phone. My annoyance is that they blame Apple so I am keen to know what exactly is Apple's involvement.
I presume that Orange have to tell Apple that the phone has been authorised for unlocking by Orange and that Apple then notes that in some way on iTunes so that the user can then complete the process on iTunes.
What I would like to know is how much time Apples part in this process takes.
I would also like to make contact with others who have had similar problems.

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

I am pretty certain that Apple put something into iOS 6.1.4 to REJECT all 3rd-party power cords. Ever since I updated to iOS 6.1.4, my most trusted cord (4 months old) has been saying, "You cannot charge the device with this cord". BZZZT Apple strikes again !!
Either that, or the new "Kill your battery as quickly as possible" software in iOS 6.1.4 has been draining power so rapidly, that my 3rd-party cord cannot keep up with the massive power-draw from iOS 6.1.4 !! Don't upgrade !!
