Why only n97 got fireware update but N97 mini dont have

Remember, the Product Code really has something to do with the product. It might be called the same, it might look the same but it could have different hardware build in. My guess, and guess is all we can as Nokia does not disclose this information, that a keyboard layout, version of the transceiver, revision of cpu all have an influence on the firmware version that has been tested on the specific device and hence the product code.
But the two things are particular annoying 1) Nokia not telling why a specific device is exclude from an update 2) Nokia not disclosing if and when an update will be available. Not to mention that they don't inform their own support personell of 1) and 2) so these poor basterds are bound to give misleading and false information.

You may be subject to pirated software. Not a huge deal and can be fixed.

Finally got the update, But

After 10 days, I finally got the update @ 9:30 this morning. Its going take a few days to see what got fixed and what got broken.
After the update I have a bunch of contacts that I can't remove. I looks like they are on the sim card. I could remove them when I got the phone. Its

When you reboot the phone, they should go away.
You can also open the people application, press menu and then view. Uncheck the SIM card contacts. It will actually say that there are zero contacts, but I unchecked it anyway.

For those who haven't got V21 update on N97

Just chill out and relax, there ain't any thing "excellent" which you're missing. I have absolutely NO difference on my phone after updating it to V21.

Syndication only when records are updated, but ONLY for selected fields

again with one of my : it's that even possible at all ?
the case, we have a customer repository where, among other things we add some extra info (classification ABC and similar mainly) to a small percentage of them (around 5 - 10 %)
and we would like to distribute only those changes, changes in few fields
of course we load plenty of fields from R3 and other systems, and also we modify records to assign the customers to different business organization that have to look after, this assignments change also very often (it can affect to 30 to 40 % of the customers). All this data does not need to be distributed.
so in figures (as example to easier understand), weekly base :
_ 250.000 _ aprox records in MDM
_ __ 1.000 _ new records every week from source systems
_ __ 8.000 _ updated records every week from source systems
_ ______________(yes, big number, some marketing attributes and soft stuff they like to see in MDM)
_ ____ 100 _ aprox are "enhanced" with data we need to distribute
_ __ 50.000 _ aprox records are re-assigned or reclassify with data we do NOT need to distribute
_ ______________(mostly done with assignments and so on that keep changing every week)
so, even selecting "suppress unchanged records", MDM keeps distributing like 60.000 records, when we only need those 100.
is any direct way to make this ??
as a work-around, I have think into a workflow that in a way flags a new field (to_be_distributed) always and only when a user change one of this specific fields. And then filter the distribution for only this field = True. And another workflow that set the mention field to False, just after the distribution is done.
Crazy idea ??, anything better ??
(we are in MDM 5.5, if the solution require 7.0, migration plans are in the horizon)

We had the same scenario where in we have to Syndicate only certain Fields to Legacy...As per your scenario add classification data to your Existing Customer repository. Next steps is to create a map for the classifications data...You write your own conditions in FreeForm search of MDM Syndication. Whenever certain conditions are satisfied, MDM system will syndicate.
Next - Option - If you are implementing work flow then create a extra field called Syndicate_Legacy. Syndicate_Legacy should be Flat LookUps .Values should be Syndicate,No Syndicate. Before end of the WF, you should have a assignment step. By using assignment change the value to Syndicate or Not syndicate. For this , along with map you should also write a condition in Free form search in syndicator stating that only if Field(Syndicate_Legacy) = Value(Syndicate). I believe these should solve your issue...If not please let me know...

When you do a sync, you will be asked if you want the items purchased from iTunes Store to be copied to the computer. I forget the exact wording of the message.
For anything that was not purchased from the store, you need to purchase an app. I haven't needed one so I can't recommend any specific one or ones. As I recall, they all sell for around $10. Do a search of the app store.

Quicktime pro updated but video options dont show up

I bought the Pro upgrade, I already had 7.0.3 player, installed the license key in control panel and it appears to have been accepted, since it says Quicktime Pro in the control panel.
When I launch player, In help about "Buy Quicktime Pro" is greyed out, so it appears the upgrade key worked
BUT
there are no choices for making new video recording ?
When I chack for updates it says the Update server is not available?

Video recording is only a feature of the Mac version of QuickTime Pro.
Others have reported issues with the Software Update feature and it occurs on some Mac's as well.
Maybe the next update will fix the "auto-update" feature.

Why i can't get latest firmware update for n97?

I can see there is new update for n97 (21.2.045) but update check from phone and pc says i have the latest version. i don;t have latest version. i have september firmware on.

Next step is to Restore it in iTunes from your backup. If that does not work they try Restoring it as a new phone. If still no go it is a hardware failure and you will need to get it serviced.
And you are not showing the hardware lock icon on the top right of the home screen?

How i got my n97 0585262 to update to v12

i tried again this morning.... it gave me the familiar update not available, i've been looking through the logs trying to work out what wasa going on.
according to the logs the nsu was trying to download the update. the first file it already had from the last time i updated. the second file was refused. and the 3rd....
then it reported no update available. i'm wondering if the people who can't update are the ones that have updated before.
[b]what i did was[/b] rename the folder located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Service Layer\A\nsl_service_module_00001\vpls\www.dsut.online.nokia.com.oti.caresuite\Products (this is on XP, it will be similar but different on vista, can't remember where application data is stored)
called rm-505 to something else (without the nsu running obviously) and it went through fine.
There's no dignity in begging for kudos. Do it for the karma.

I tried the same and it starts to download .. then around 50M it came back with error in device update ,,, but still did it fine.

I've got my scroll blocked for the Mail only. The Mail keeps being updated but i can not touch it, as if the screen wad locked...

Quit the mail app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

but N97 doesnt yet.......

Honestly I think the N97 is a lost case now. Everything points in the direction that it has been abandoned. Actually it has been like that quite a while.
The N97 was build with far too little Nand memory and I think that in particular is making it hard to really do anything sensible with it. The mini has double nand capacity and therefor I believe it was quite a bit easier to make the current update for it.
I got rid of my N97 long time ago. If it does not fit your need now, I think you should get another phone rather than wait for something thats unlikely to happen.
You never know though...
But if it's only for the smileys, check out A-sms from ovi store or google it. Might be some options available, if you can live with 3rd party support.
