Why options are disabled?

I have installed jdeveloper 9i with the developer suite (clean install)
I even have installed the stand alone jdeveloper 10g
I have noticed that with the developer suite install of jdeveloper when I do a new -> general -> Java Class is disabled and many other options overall are disabled but they are enabled in standalone jdeveloper 10g. I was just interested it know why?

Hi,
certain things will be enabled or disabled depending on what you have selected in the Applications Navigator. If you have the workspace selected you can only create workspace level things. Try clicking on an project within your workspace.

Create users under Administration Server Create user and Refresh users options are disabled

We have installed and configured 11.1.2.2 successfully, Essbase in standalone mode.
When we try to create users under Administration Server Create user and Refresh users options are disabled. Please let me know how to create EAS users?

1.You can create users from EAS console using maxl, if you have not externalized the users .
When we create using Maxl it will create for 'ESSBASE Servers' users but we want to create additional administrator users under 'Administrator Services' --> 'Users'. At the moment default 'Admin' users is created under 'Administrator Services' --> 'Users'.

I should perhaps have mentioned that I have tried all the official channels, including contacting support and sending feedback over the last couple of months. The support people sympathise but can't really help me and I haven't received anything w.r.t. the feedback I have sent, more than once.
I'm now turning to the other users in the hope that someone can get me into contact with a person/people inside Apple that might be able to shed more light on this.
I've already contacted our local distributors and my mobile phone provider and they have told me that it is Apple and only Apple who decide what is available in the store.
W.r.t. licensing etc, I suspect that there may be some legalities involved here, however it's not like we are on a different planet - we get the same DVDs and movies and TV programs here as everywhere else - just not on the iTunes store... So once again everything points back to Apple and not to local laws. As far as I know our laws w.r.t. media are pretty standard and mostly based on UK law, but I am no legal expert.
I would even be happy to get a "we know it's not great, we're working on it", or a "it may take some time, but hang in there" ... but I haven't even been able to get that... which is extremely frustrating.

there is option to add new template but option to delete and Update are disable. (Localized Templates Region)

Hi,
Since 'Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet' is a standard Template, you will not abe able to delete or update it.
If you need to customize it, You need to copy it to another template and upload your custom style sheet.
Then you need to attach this custom template to standard PO using the following navigation:
a) Purchasing SuperUser -> Setup -> Pruchasing -> Document Types ->(It will open a new OAF window)
b) Click 'Update' Icon on 'Purchase Order Standard''
c) Change 'Document Type Layout' and select your Custom template.

Workflow options are disabled in the sidekick for non-administrators

We have a custom workflow for content approval. The first step in the workflow assigns the task to the workflow initiator.
While testing the workflow, the initiation is successful and also the first task is assigned to the initiator. But when the initiator open the task and the content attached to the workflow opens in the content finder the workflow options are not available in the sidekick. It just says "
This page is subject to workflow:
TxDOT Content Approval Workflow
Under Workflow Package it says - "Unable to add to a package because of a running workflow."
Any idea why the workflow options to complete, step back, and delegate are not available? These options are available to the author by right-clicking on the task in the Inbox. Just not available in the sidekick.

This is the strange part of the issue. The content is attached to the workflow and the task is also assigned to the user. I have verified this from the worklfow instances. Yet, these options are not available in the sidekick. However, these options are available in the right-click menu in Inbox.

Browser Type Options are disabled on OpenScript Version: 9.3.1.0 Production

I have installed OATS complete suite 9.3.1 on Windows 7 (32 Bit OS).
On OpenScript tool, both Browser Types radio buttons are disabled and Firefox radio button is selected.
I am unable to change the Browser Type in OpenScript preferences.
When I try to record/run a script no browser is launched and unable to run or record scripts.
I have checked my enabled Toolbars on IE 8, I can see Oracle.OATS.OpenScript.IEToolBar.OpenScriptToolBar is selected and enabled.
Version: 9.3.1.0 Production
Build ID: 2.6.1.0036
Can anyone please throw some light on this issue.

Hi Satya,
Restart 'Oracle ATS Helper' service. Then try to record.
If browser not launching after service restart, then go to OATS installed folder (default it is C:\OracleATS). Then open openscript. Then open UninstallBrowserHelpers.bat. Your browser addons will be uninstalled. Then open InstallBrowserHelpers.bat
Open HelperService, then bin( ie, OracleATS\openScript\HelperService\bin). Open UninstallHelperService.bat, after that InstallHelperService.bat, then RunHelperService.bat. Go to services and make sure that 'Oracle ATS Helper' service is running.
Then try your recording!!!
Please let me know the result.

New Portal User options are disabled when trying to create a new User

I just want to know if you are able to modify the attributes of an existing user. If not then you have been assigned the User Admin role (read only). Please check that. If yes then revert.

10.1.3 - Edit Table dialog - all options are disabled?

How come in 10.1.3 when selecting edit on an existing table under a database connection, that all the components of the table are not-editable? For instance you can't delete a column?
Is this because the editor doesn't have the ability to generate ALTER scripts? Or a bug?

You should have the ability to delete columns unless the column in used in a constraint, in which case you are forced to alter the constraint first before being allowed to delete the column.

I cannot export my project from Final Cut. All the options are disabled. Can anybody help me?

I have the latest version of FCPX and the final version of Compressor. I have my project ready but I cannot export because everything (Compressor, DVD, MasterFile etc.) is disabled. I need to export this project ASAP.
P.S. This is the first export that I am trying to do on a new iMac, with OS X Yosemite.

The left-click options in the web browser are disabled in the latest version

In all the previous versions of firefox I've had no issues in the drop down menu when left-clicking to either open a link in a new tab or save highlighted text or even saving an image to my drive. However now with the latest update (20.0.1) I have come across something which disturbs me by the full length of the drop down menu (too long, too much stuff on it) and half the options are disabled, which makes it harder for me to surf the web as I am used to doing. This is a problem related to having an outdated version of Firebug, most likely you've disabled automatic update of addons.
The easiest way to fix this is to go to Tools -> Addons, and then clicking the wheel button up near the search field. From there you choose "Check for Updates" and unless you need specific versions of an addon, choose the "Update addons automatically" while you are there.
You will most likely have to update Firebug twice, as it updates to an outdated version, and from there to the newest one.
This is the solution I stumbled upon as I had the same exact problem, where I tried creating a new profile and the likes.

OK, I think what you are curious about is this:
Open a Finder window and put the window into List view. Now go to View->Show View Options, and you get a little window with various choices, including this list of the kinds of columns you can have in the original window:
I had never paid much attention to the list, but AFAIK the "Last Opened" option is ONLY available when you have a Search window open:
And lots of the other options are then unavailable.

When creating a DVD face in Photoshop 13 my save options are limited to .PSE and .PDF. Why can I not save as a jpeg or other file format? This was never an issues in Elements 10 (my previous version).

I just recently purchased Elements 13. I am in the process of creating a DVD face for a video. The design is complete and I would like to be able to save it as a JPEG so I can use it in another program that prints my DVD's. The problem is that it only allows me to save the file as at PSE or a PDF. No other options are available. Why is this? I upgraded from Elements 10. In Elements 10 I have never had a problem saving this type of project as a JPEG. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

ANSWER FOUND!
Once I finished composing my question I went back and spent some time to figure out the problem. Rather than choosing the "save as" option, which doesn't work, or attempting to choose "export" (grayed out), the correct option is to choose "export creation", which is near the very bottom of the initial drop down options. That works! I still think it would make sense to have it as an option in the "save as" area.
