Why can't I send photos via email any more?

Not enough information to know, but you might try rebooting your iPad. Press and hold both the home and power buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds (hold past the swipe to shut down bar if it appears) until the Apple logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. Try emailing a picture and let us know if this worked for you.

It sounds like you can get emails without issue, but cannot send them. I found this article for you to help troubleshoot the connection between the iPad and your email provider named:

Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage (try any webpage). If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you are unable to load a webpage, follow these troubleshooting steps.Try to use an alternate Internet connection if available:

If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.

Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.

Exchange 2013 will not send out email using MX records, but will via smart host.

When I use a smart host my email goes out fine, but when I use MX look-up it does not.
Inbound mail works when I use Telnet to test it.
Could this be because I'm testing the server from our office that the FQDN on the Exchange Server will not resolve back to the IP address I'm testing from?

Yes almost certainly.
If when the server does the MX lookup for the destination address it resolves to your external IP address then it's quite likely that it won't be able to send. A lot of firewalls can't handle having a connection made from the internal network for an external
IP address that it controls, and won't simply pass the connection back to the internal network. When using the smart host though, the destination is external so the message can reach it and then when the smart host tries to deliver the message to your external
IP it's coming from an external source so it works.
Tricky one to explain but I hope that makes sense.

Video not sending via email

Since upgrading to iOS 6, every time I try to send a video via email nothing happens. I go through the whole process of editing the video to size, sending it from my email account (I've tried sending it to and from multiple accounts), but after hitting the 'email' button - nada. The email never even makes it to my outbox.
This happens whether or not I'm on the Verizon network or on WiFi in my home.
Is anyone else having this issue? Is it a problem with the operating system?

Well, Toast has a few other things included which may come in handy and I've just gotten used to using it, but there is no need for it, especially for basic burning. So, yes, you can use iMovie or iDVD.
+As an alternative, can I go to iDVD>File>OneStep DVD From Movie (which I would have dragged to the desktop from the email)and do it that way?+
One-Step DVD is to transfer video directly from a camcorder to burn to a DVD (check iDVD help). I've never used that feature because I tend to do a lot of "snazzing" including customizing the themes, creating intros with several layers of video and live fonts, etc. But there is another possibility: Magic iDVD: "lets you create professional quality DVD with minimal effort" - again, check iDVD help; there are step by step instructions. I haven't used that feature either.
You might want to consider checking out the appropriate forums for both iMovie and iDVD for tips and/or questions - some very knowledgeable people hang out there. You'll find that with a little effort, you can create some really cool movies. And remember that both iMovie and iDVD only accept certain formats, so if you get an error or it won't let you drag it, run it through MPEG Streamclip first.
Edit: As an afterthought, I'm wondering if you will actually be able to get that movie via email - most ISP's impose limits on file size.

Pages document will not share via email

After completing a document in Pages and then want to email it, I click Share via email and then Word. Nothing happens. Not even an error message.
Any ideas about why?

When you attempt to send an IOS Pages v1.7+ (older Pages ’09 format) document via gmail, it arrives with the file extension .pages, and if Pages v5 is installed, the attached document acquires the new icon style.
Within Apple Mail, you can hover over the horizontal line and with selection of the paperclip icon, you can open the .pages attachment with Quick Look. Again, if you have Pages v5 installed, the Open with Pages button in Quick Look will use that as a default version with the following cautionary dialog. If you press and hold on that Quick Look Open button, it will appear as the Finder's open with menu and you can choose to open in Pages v4.3.
When you originate the .pages document from IOS Pages v2+ (new format compatible with Pages v5 on OS X), and choose to send it via Gmail (or iCloud), it will arrive as filename.pages.zip. This is a compressed file format that Pages v5 cannot access without first uncompressing it.
If you revisit the original second paragraph above, Quick Look will show you a large compressed icon dialog. However, there is an uncompress button in the upper right that will open a new Finder window with the original .pages and .zip files within it. You can then select the .pages document and click Open with Pages. By default, this document will open in Pages v5 if installed, or fail in Pages v4.3 with the following warning dialog because of a document format mismatch. Anything Pages v5 opens is poisoned for subsequent Pages ’09 v4.3 access, unless first exported as Pages ’09 from within Pages v5.
And intuitively, it is pointless to send a .pages document via email to anyone without the proper version of Pages installed.

no settings changes, but ipad air will not open photos att. to email. mac emails open, ipad 2 opens same photos just fine.
This is an overnight change- what caused it?
Air also seems to crash far more often than ipad 2.
Any solution faster than restoring factory settings and reloading? Most important, how to prevent this irritation from recurring?

Seems to have something to do with size. The photos I was sending were all over 1mb. When I send a photo that is only a few hundred kilobytes it works fine.
Some setting prehaps with the iPhone?
Larger photos are fine with the iPad I tried.

My web based email suddenly will not send the emails. Is there a setting issue perhaps?

I purchased a new laptop abot a month ago an am running windows 7. I use a web based lotus notes to for my work email. Initiall I had no problems but about a week or so ago when I try to send an email, it will run through the spell check and then the email just sits there. It does not send. However, if I log to internet explorer I am able to send emails.

Edit the contact and verify that the phone number is in a field named Mobile or iPhone. Sometime work or home is for email, not for phone numbers.

Droid Charge hotspot will not send an email with an attachment.

I have a Droid Charge phone. When I use it as a hotspot and send an email from my computer with an attachment the connections times out. It will send an email okay as long as there aren't any attachments associated with it. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this problem? By the way, it downloads emails with attachments just fine! Great phone otherwise.

I tried .pdf, jpeg, bmp, docx, doc, bmp.... nothing will send.
I tried it with my laptop loaded with XP and I tried it with a laptop loaded with Windows 7. Same results - it timed out!
I took my phone to the local Verizon store and they tried MY hotspot with THEIR computer - same problem, would not send! I took it to a Verizon sales booth in Sam's club and they could not send an attachment using their computer and my hotspot either!
I later went back to the Verizon store and the salesman there had an I-phone and she set up a hotspot on her phone. I then sent an attachment using my computer and HER hotspot - no problem, went thru just fine! I sent about 10 more attachments that ranged from 500 KB to 2.6 MB and all went thru without a hitch! I tried my hotspot again and it would not send!
Verizon sent me a replacement phone - same problem. They sent me ANOTHER replacement phone - same problem!
A friend of mine has a HTC phone and an account with Sprint - I tried his hotspot. At the exact same location I tried a pdf file of 2.6 MB with my computer using my Charge hotspot and it would NOT send it. I then used his hotspot and sent the exact same file and it went thru without any problems.
So now what?
Oh, I had Verizon make me a new SIM card but that didn't help. By the way, I think I've talked to about every Verizon tech at their 800 number and I don't think taking the battery out and resetting the phone is going to work - I've done it about 50 times now! (I'm not exaggerating!)
This is a business phone so I'm going to turn the problem over to our person that handles our account with Verizon. I had an AT&T phone before and it didn't have any problems. I don't have the time for this type of headache so I think I'll go back to AT&T since we have an account with them too!
I'm not saying that Verizon is a bad company.... I just don't have time to deal with this! This has been going on for over a month.

IPhone will not send comcast email

My iPhone suddenly stopped sending Comcast emails--still receives. The iPhone will send and recieve gmail and my work email from the iPhone. My iPad sends and recieves all three accounts including Comcast. I compared the email settings and the iPhone and iPad are identical.

Make sure the SMTP primary server is set to smtp.comcast.net, and that your SMTP server settings are the same as your iPad too (mine are SSL = Off and Server Port = 587). If they are, try deleting the account and recreating it again.

Email will not send to email address with a full stop within the name as it drops the last name ie jim.smith@.... changes to jim@....

I am trying to reply or send a email to a email address that has a full stop in the username ie [email protected] When the email sends it drops the surname ie [email protected] I have checked the address from the reply and it is correct even if I type it in it still has the same issue. Mail will not send via Dreamhost Email Server Thro...

I have a Nokia E72 and I'm using the built in Messaging service (http://email.nokia.com) to retrieve email via IMAP from a Dreamhost-hosted email account. Receiving works perfectly, and I'm very happy with the service.
Whenever I try to send email, the mail is 'sent' on my phone, but I get a delivery status notification (failure) email.
It contains the following error:
500: Failure - sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
Now, I know that Dreamhost has some funky SSL issues with their ingoing and outgoing mail servers. I'm not sure why incoming mail works fine, but outgoing is having these certificate issues.
When I go to my messaging settings (https://email.nokia.com/account/changeAdvancedIspSettingsUI.action), any changes I make to the outgoing settings result in an error message, and being unable to save the changes.
Can anyone help me out with either changing my settings, or getting Nokia Messaging working with Dreamhost?

Hmm, strange. Although I tried this before, the website now does accept my smtp:
server: mail.yourdomain.com
port: 25
NO SSL.
By using NO SSL and port 25, you bypass the invalid certificate I guess. Dreamhost has an certivicate in place identifying with *.mail.dreamhost.com. I asume this is causing some issues over at Nokia.
People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.

Photoshop Elements 11 will not send via Live Mail

I want to send an image by email using Organiser. However consistently I have found that to import contacts from Live Mail, Organiser does not give as an option and defaults to Outlook. I have gone to Edit, Preferences and made the default program Live Mail but when I go back to sharing, consistently it only gives Outlook as the option. Have gone as far as uninstalling Outlook but even that has not worked. I have rebooted the PC, but nothing works ! See from googling that this is a problem that many previous versions have had, so would have thought that by Version 11 Adobe would have sorted. Help please !

Unfortunately Microsoft makes constant changes to Windows Live essentials. I’ve found it usually works best with web mail via Adobe after obtaining verification. I know some email services block bulk email completely and I’ve only tested it with Gmail which works fine. Should also work with other web mail e.g. Yahoo and Hotmail. Before you start it will help to check your internet security settings. If they are set to High, reduce the settings to Medium temporarily. Then follow these instructions.
1. Log in to your mail provider on the web and add the following email to your address/contacts book.

2. Open Organizer and on the menu click:
Edit >> Preferences >> Sharing
3. Choose Adobe Email Service from the client dropdown menu.
4. Add your name and email address to the fields provided and click OK
5. Test the system (first use only) by selecting a photo in organizer and choosing Share >> Photo Mail then click Next (Mac users should use attachments)
6. Choose a contact then click Next
7. Click Next Step, then click Next - the sender verification dialog will open.
8. Check you have spelt your email address correctly and hit the Resend E-Mail button.
9. Go to your inbox (also check spam) and when the Adobe mailer message is received copy (Ctrl+C) the long verification code.
10. Return to the verification dialog and paste it (Ctrl+V) into the Sender verification field and click OK. Wait for validation confirmation then click OK to continue

Photo orientation when sending via email

When I email photos they are displayed in landscape orientation when viewed on the computer but are properly displayed when viewed on the iPhone. Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

If you read the entire thread you will find that it is not an Apple issue, it is simply the fact that Apple finally joined the rest of the 'good' camera makers (Canon, Nikon) in using the EXIF orientation flag. Use of this flag allows faster picture-to-picture times because the Camera/CPU doesn't have to rotate the image, all it has to do is write a flag in the EXIF data.
I really doubt if Apple will 'fix' something that isn't broken so it is up to the third party image support software to come into modern times and support the EXIF orientation flag.
