Why QT Server error (stopping) after quiting CS5?

Everytime I stop CS5...I get a "QT Server error" where it stops "unexpectantly". Anyone know why? I just upgraded from CS4 to CS5 64 bit and WINDOWS 7 64 bit.

QT is an odd beast. I am not sure what the underlying issue is, but Apple loves to update QT and make it incompatible with Adobe programs. This has gone on for a very long time. Apple will issue a good version, and then a couple that just will not work with anything Adobe. The most recent version (7.6.6 I think), seems to be a bit of a mixed bag. It works for many but not for all. Versions 7.6.3 and 7.6.4 seemed to be death to anything Adobe. For me, the "last known good" version is 7.5.5, but that will not provide full MOV support in CS5. Before that, 7.3.5 was the last known good, and all 7.4.x versions seemed to not work at all with Adobe products. I keep older versions around, never update iTunes AND QT, and will ONLY do a manual download and install, choosing Custom in ALL cases.

Gmail retrieval stopped after quitting MobileMe

I have been using Apple Mail for 7 years; I'm fairly familiar, but not expert, with the application. For the past 2 years or so, I've been forwarding all work, personal, etc. mail accounts to Gmail, then retrieving them with Apple Mail. It's worked well thus far.
Yesterday, I canceled a trial MobileMe account I had set up a couple months ago. I had also set up a MobileMe account in my Apple Mail, though I only used it to send mail, not receive. After quitting the MobileMe account, my Gmail account stopped retrieving mail. I figured out how to get it to send (I had been using MobileMe for outgoing mail), but it will not retrieve... the spinning wheel just keeps on spinning. My iPhone still retrieves mail from Gmail, but not Apple Mail on my Mac.
Connection Doctor says the connection is good. Any ideas on how I can resolve this problem? I have experimented at length, without success.

Yes, I am running 10.5.4. I need to update my profile on these message boards. My stats below are the most current. Anyway, I am using port 25, and the SMTP address is smtp.me.com. I did not set this part up manually; when I added my MobileMe account, I chose the "Add Account" button from the Preferences->Accounts window, typed in my name, e-mail address, and password, and Mail did the rest for me. Is it possible that the Mail app used the wrong SMTP information? Perhaps someone here who is using MobileMe with Mail app can confirm that the server should be "smtp.me.com" on port 25 with SSL enabled.
EDIT: As I am going into the Activity Window, the outgoing MobileMe just started working! E-mails are sending! Hooray!
Now on to the bigger problem...why, when I click Get Mail, does nothing happen?! Why isn't Mail app checking for mail every five minutes, as I have set up? And why does Mail app freeze when I try to quit?! Again, thanks for the help!

Help Error (193) After Effects CS5

Hi dear friendsI just installed After effects cs5 and sends me this error and I opened, I was looking for a long time and can not find the solution, but it says the message I give here more info on my pc, and hopefully I can help solve this I do not understand.

I am not surprised by that. You need more memory on your computer! You went from a computer with only 3 GB RAM to one with just 2 GB RAM.

After Effects uses a lot of memory. You are in desperate need of more memory. Until you get more, you will be unsuccessful when you use it.

POP3 server emails stopped after new update of 503

Last week messge appeared on screen that new update version (14.0.4) available for your mobile Asha 503. I select yes to upgrade my phone from older version to new. after upgrade procedur my office POP3 server email stopped & not working from that time. i contact to my office network administrator to check any possibility to enable my email but he asked me there is no any chance to receive my email because he tried lot of time to re configure but it vain. please help

The easiest way to track this is: Capture the network traffic! This can be done via a:
A) Wi-Fi access point which allows capturing. Alternatively, you go for a
B) Ethernet Switch behind the Wi-Fi access-point which allows port mirroring. A third alternative is to
C) install Connectify on a computer and use that as capturing Wi-Fi access-point
for your Nokia Asha 503.
In all cases, you use tools like Wireshark to analyze the data traffic. However, because you are in contact with your administrator already: Does he see any data packet from your Nokia Asha 503 at all? If not, the Internet configuration could have been damaged while updating. Nokia Xpress browser is using a slightly different configuration, therefore it might not be affected.

SERVER ERROR STOPS PURCHASE OF UPGRADE

For 3 days I have been trying to purchase LR5 UPGRADE from Adobe website.
I am a UK user, logged in as usual, with a previous LR purchase showing in my profile.
When I click the BUY (Upgrade) button there is always a server error. Cart is not updated and remains empty.
If I ring support they put me on hold F O R E V E R r rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
If I long in a USA region, I get the cart filled ok, buy check asks me ro re login as UK Region.
I do not want to buy the Cloud version, although that BUY button does work.

I've just tried it here (Southampton) and it's working ok. You're trying from http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop-lightroom.html I assume? Have you tried a different browser? There might an oddity cached. Alternatively Amazon have the upgrade for a couple of pounds less.

Why does iTunes DJ stop after my display has powered down?

When my display has gone into idle power-down, iTunes finishes what it was doing and quits until I do something to my computer that wakes the display.
Details:
I'm listening to music on iTunes DJ (some AirPlay devices running).
Everything's fine if I'm using the computer iTunes is on.
When I walk away, I notice after a few minutes that no track started after the last one stopped. At some point during the last track, my display powered down (5 minutes).
I jiggle my mouse or tap ctrl or shift or whatever else you do to get a display to wake up.
As the monitor wakes up, play resumes.
BONUS: when iTunes is in this state of non-playing, Apple TV can't engage my library to play media either.

Why won't rebuild stop after working all night?

I have a macbook pro 15/i7 4gb osx 10.6.7 and iphoto '11 with a 118gb 27,000+ photo file....it was crashing and running slow...so I rebuilt it with all toggles ticked...it ran for a whole night and the 'spinner' never stopped...it suggested in the mini dialogue that 27,000+ had been rebuilt...but never ever stopped...and would not quit...went to 'force quit' and it was not showing as 'not responding'....so left it longer...and finally had to hit force quit....now it will only load the new default start up iphoto library...clicking on the actual library gets the same result....HELP me find a solution this apple kludge that has gone downhill after iphoto '9....I love and hate this application now...it is so unreliable...but I am married to it now and don't want a divorce...HELP...please. Are you trying to disable notifications coming from your MyVerizon account or just from the Verizon Wireless Community?
For the community, you need to click on your profile name link to view it. On the right side of the screen on your profile, there is an option to edit preferences. In there you can change how items in your Communications tab are sent to you. If you individually subscribed to a discussion thread then there are links on the side of each discussion where you can track in communications or get emails notifications. You might have unsubscribe from those individually depending on which option you chose.

ICal "server error" and unexpected quit

Whenever I try and open iCal i get the following message 2 times
"*The server responded with an error*.
The server did not recognize your user name or password for account “[email protected]” Make sure you enter them correctly."
I press OK, get the same message again, and press OK again.
Then iCal quits unexpectedly.
I'm assuming this message means that there is a problem with the gmail calendar I am syncing (which I don't need and can be deleted) however iCal won't stay open for long enough in order for me to do anything about it.

Welcome to Apple Discussions,
First make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.

Why does my mac stop after watching videos for about 20 minutes.I turn it off and then back on and everything is good for about another20 minutes

when I watch videos (**** or youtube) after about 20 minutes my mac stops and i'll get an error message or disconnected from internet message.I'll shut my mac off end then back on and it is good for about another 20 minutes. help

Why does the sound stop after about 10 minutes? I like to listen to lectures, etc. and find it very annoying to have to press the on/off button to restart it every 10 minutes. Couldn't find a way to extend playing time in settings.

I can imagine that is frustrating as heck. My daughter has one of these and I know for a fact hers does not turn off after 10 minutes because I have to turn it off for her every night after she has fallen asleep. Below is what Apple has to say about it from a troubleshooting standpoint.
"If music stops when the iPod nano screen turns off m Make sure the earphone port is free of debris. m Make sure the earphone or headphone connector is pushed in all the way. To see an illustration, go to support.apple.com/kb/ts3700."
Are you using aftermarket ear buds or speakers when you listen to these lectures??? If so maybe it has something to due with a compatibility issue.

This indicates a network problem.
Power cycle the ATV and router.
Update the firmware on the router.

iTunes is not fully functional when operating in Safe Mode, so its possible that the component that supports Audible content is not running. If iTunes will only run in Safe Mode then there's an issue with your installation - see Turingtest2's tutorial Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates, in particular the section on removing all components of iTunes before installing the latest version.
I have Audible .aa files on a 2nd gen iPod Nano so there shouldn't be an issue with age ...

Why itunes 10.7 stopped after 76.6MB downloaded and only left 0.2MB to go? It happened every tries I made.

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
