Why RAC when there is virtualization?
I struggle with the question why to use RAC when virtualization gives you the same benefits for less money. Or am I totally wrong.
I mean with virtualization you get, resource management, fail over and all that to a lower cost. "Consolidation of servers".
A couple of things that I can think of that RAC supplies such as load balancing, FAN etc are nice features but not vital to our needs.
Hoping for input from other forum member so that I can get this question cleared, or maby there is no such answer.

Yes this is true depending on what HW the host is running on & the type of database. In our case we do not have that big databases, we have many but none of them are high resource consuming.
But that is exactly the input i am looking for.
The reason is that i am trying to consolidate our current platform that consist of many different flavor & types (HW, OS & Cluster) into one single standard platform for our Oracle databases. And our *NIX team are really into the virtualization tech.
For me to propose and stick to a RAC solution I need facts, at the moment i am kind of stuck in the middle.

Well I do not know if Oracle has changed its licensing model while presenting VM, but the last time i checked with Oracle, I have to pay for all 32CPU's and not only for those "4" that i am actually using. "The reason they gave was: There are 32 CPU's that you can use within the machine, and therefor you have to pay for 32."
This is a really awkward way of licensing, but that may have changed now when the VM has been released.

Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:

However, according to Dave Merchant, it has a backend purpose in cleaning up legacy questions apparently:

It's probably going to be a capitalisation error. In other words, one or more tracks on the album has a lower case letter at the beginning of the album name while all the others have a capital letter. They can be difficult to spot.
In iTunes, examine one of your duplicated albums carefully. You should be looking for a slight difference between the album title name. Look at the screenshot below, can you see the error in the album title?

The title track (Left Of The Middle). Look at the capitalisation of the album name.
Once you find you error in your album, re-type it (or copy-and-paste from one track to all the tracks) and then SYnc your iPod to iTunes. Does that cure it? If nto, let us know. -

why does fix capitalization work when there is only one space after the period in pages 09? For example: "Turn on 3rd St. After the traffic light." There is only one space after the period in "St." shouldn't it only auto correct after TWO spaces..?? the word After, should be after..
You may also use a noBreak space after the period at the end of the abbreviation.
If I remember well, in such case the capitalization will not apply.

When I try to export from iMovie '11 I get repeated messages that the project is too big. Why? Is there a workaround? (I have already cut a 40-minute movie into three chunks... the first exported to iDVD ok, but the next one of 15 minutes balked for the same reason -- too long...)

Sadly, this is Windows machine so I dont have a non-iOS version of iMovie. I have 2 ideas left. The first is xfering the project to my iPhone 4 and trying to export it there (if that works, awesome but geez apple the iPad 2 is way more powerful than the iphone 4.. youd think I wouldnt even have to attempt this). The 2nd idea is to start at the end of my movie and delete clips and sounds backwards, trying to export each time to find whatever clip is causing the issue (when the movie was 5 minutes it mixed no probem, so I only need to go that far).

And I have tested with this path "//article/item-info/jid/text()", but it doesnt give me anything. But I noticed that when I remove line 1, it does extract the content "YANBE"...

Somewhere in the DTD it probably 'sneakily' defines a default attribute which in reality is a default-namespace for one of the elements. This means that in your XPath handling, you will have to map a prefix to a namespace-uri (NamespaceContext [1]) and use this newly defined prefix in your XPath expression.

Why does my phone keep popping up messages "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iphone" when there is no cable connected? This has been happening since IOS7 was installed and has become worse with 7.1. I have reset the phone several times with no change.The phone charges properly & I have never used anything but an Apple Lightning cable.
I already cleaned the port with compressed air before submitting the problem. I since cleaned it with a toothpick and dug out some more lint. this seems to have just about fixed the problem since I have only had the error pop up 3 times since then and i was getting the error constantly before.

When receiving an email, why does it say 'More. . .' in the To email address line when there is only one email address? It looks like there is more than one recipient when there is actually just one.
Have you rebooted since the deletions. That will empty a number of caches and may restore the freed up space. Also open the iPhoto Library package with the Finder as shown in this screenshot
locate the iPod Photo Cache folder and delete its contents. Make no other changes to the contents of the iPHoto LIbrary Package.

2) At some stage developers decide it isn't worth the expense of supporting older technology. If I had my way you could still connect iOS7 to OS9, but Apple has decided to make the limit OS 10.6.8 Nor do I like that I can't get spare parts for my 33 year old car...

If you are not going to always be running the newest technology always read software requirements before doing any upgrades. I run a 12 year old computer and yes, I see there are things I can't run (many), but I also then avoid buying any incompatible new technology. The system requirements are printed on the side of the box (albeit in 9 point medium gray font on light gray box ) Do not expect the Apple Store people to check with you about your computer first. I bet half of them were still in grade school when my computer was produced and none of them could possibly imagine anybody would run anything older than 6 years (probably not even that, more like 4).
Why not buy Snow Leopard? Of course you do not say what model computer you are using, but if you can run Snow Leopard on your computer there's no advantage to staying with Leopard. Snow Leopard costs $20 which is minimal compared to you now no longer being able to sync your phone.

Most likely because Essbase is creating an implicit share relationship between the two members, which is causing the association tab to be grayed out.
