Why Rectangle is out of view when resizing its frame container?
Three Rectangles, located by setLocation(x,y)in a row, are drawn inside a JPanel , JPanel is inside a JFrame. When I shink the JFrame, the rightmost Rectangle is out of view. what can I do to make sure all the rectangles will shink and show up when the JFrame shinks.

Generally, choosing a frame from the video itself in the Media panel as your poster is frowned upon in DPS. Personally, I do it all the time without problem but perhaps you have found out why it's better to make your own screengrab and use that as a poster image instead.

Adobe consistently crashes when resizing a frame
I'm helping a company which publish a review every month with InDesign. The entire document is divided into three columns. Only some titles cover the 3 columns. That seems to be these titles which makes Indesign crashing. As soon as I resize a frame just above this kind of title Indesign crash instantly. I thought about paragraph style, links, layers, but all my tests has been uneffective, impossible to find the reason why Indesign crash. Does someone have an idea to help dealing with it ?

BlaiseThe crash report doesn't show me spscifically what's wrong becasue I'm not an expert at reading them, but it does show it's text related.
To check to see if span/split is used, you would select the paragraph that spanns the columns and check the settings. Yes, it's a pain to go back to the old way, but if youare crashing because of spanned columns it doesn't make a lot of sense to continue with them.
Other users have reported problems with the span/split feature. -
Why does Browse All Versions black out TimeMachine view when using Pages '09 in Mavericks?
I have just upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks.
When I click File>Revert>Browse All Versions... for a Pages '09 document in Mavericks, the TimeMachine view just begins to emerge, but then suddenly the screen goes completely black. The only way I can recover (besides restarting) is to click on my second monitor. Then the typical TimeMachine view appears for a fraction of a second as it's exiting back to the current document view. I never get to see the previous versions, let alone work with them.
I can't find anyone in the community with a similar problem.
Also, I definitely do not want to upgrade to the new Pages, which is missing many of the features I use a lot.
How can I get the Browse All Versions view of a Pages '09 document to stay visible in Mavericks?
Note: I just discovered that I could solve this problem by disconnecting my second monitor, or by making it mirror my main monitor. Having multiple monitors seems to be interfering with the "Browse All Versions" function.Yeah, all the more furstrating when you see that osx is less polished than before and Apple take so much time to fix "simple" stuffs... (i.e: particularly no love for dual displays, lot of annoying quircks).
Well, anyhow I posted here because it was the only place google sent me to when looking for this issue. I just answered to the guy since he was alone in his thread and I had the same issue (although not with pages). Just supportin', you see

Why is audio out of synch when I share (export) to mp4, BluRay (FCPX 10.0.9)?
Audio that is carefully synched to the video in the timeline appears off by several frames once I share the files to Bluray or mp4. I believe, but will double check that I exported to DVD without this issue. Any suggestions for fixes would be greatly appreciated. Paul
Sorry it took a few days to reply Russ. I wanted a chance to go over the videos carefully.
It does not drift further out of synch, and the synch issue only affects a few short segments of a 42 minute video, one near the beginning, another near the middle and another nearer the end. The segments that have the issue ones were ones I overdubbed audio from an external recorder (Zoom H6) that I used when the video was shot. However, there are many more segments in the video that were similarly overdubbed using the Zoom recordings where synch is not a problem.
On the weekend I tried making compound clips of the problematic segments in the hope that it might accomplish something but it didn't make a difference at all in the Blueray disk I burned-which I played on my aging Samsung Bluray player.
Here's another interesting fact about this problem: all of the mp4 files, I discovered, play perfectly in synch on my Mac. It is only on a PC that some parts are out of synch. Should I be using Quicktime files for PC instead of MP4?

JAI runs out of heap when resizing big images, Java2D not

I was doing some tests wit PMIW library (which wraps both Java2D and JAI) and it seems Java2D is much faster and doesnt eats as much memory as JAI (I have tested the native version only).
Do you have a clue why?

How to turn off the brush transparency view when resizing the brush on CC?
So, when Adobe introduced the "brush preview" when using the Control+Option drag to change the brush size/hardness (not sure if it's called this way), I was ecstatic! It made my workflow much faster without having to go to the menu to change the brush size or to the bracket keys. Now on CS6 they added a feature that basically broke that for me. Now it not only shows the size/hardness, but it also shows the transparency. It sounds like a great idea, and it is when you work with bigger opacities, but I work a lot with opacities below 10% and it basically becomes invisible, so it's hard to know if I'm using a hard/soft brush when adjusting the brush size. Is there a way to turn just the transparency preview off?

So other than changing the HUD setting in General Preferences, there does not appear to be a really nice solution. Noel points out that it should be doable, and I agree that it would be nice. It is kind of ironic that we have reached a state where even keyboard shortcuts are too clunky to use, but the mouse option is such a nice feature, it would be great to extend its functionality. -
Why is sound out of sync when I burn a DVD?
I finished a movie in iMovie 4 as I always have and opened iDVD from iMovie. After creating the opening title and burning the disk, I discovered that the sound was slightly out of sync with the image. It was fine in iMovie. Any ideas what went wrong?

There can be sync problems if the original video was
captured in Long Play mode or the camcorder's audio
quality is on the lower setting. You can search the
forum for other solutions, but one option to try is
Extracting the audio in iMovie. This will make a
copy of the original audio and put it on one of your
audio tracks (and mute the original audio). The
copied audio often will behave better.

Your suggestion about extracting all the audio worked. My latest DVD burn was in snyc.
I am still confused as to why such a workaround is even neccessary. I have never had this problem of out of sync audio with any other projects. Why it suddenly happened is a mystery to me. I'm very happy your suggestion worked but it is rather labor intensive if it has to be done on every project from now on.
Any ideas out there?

InDesign freezes when resizing text frames
I've placed a Word document with lots of tables and other graphics, and when I try to resize a text frame, InDesign frequently freezes. I have to shut it down in Task Manager and restart, often losing a lot of work. This happened once before with a similar project from the same client. I thought maybe it was some odd corruption in that file, so I muscled through it, but here it is happening again. Anybody have this issue before and know how to resolve or prevent it?
I'm working with CS6 in Windows 8.

~ValerieFirst of all, ID CS6 has a auto-recovery feature, so when closing it in the task manager you should not loose a lot of work, but the one since the last auto-save.
However, software is not prefect, so the one way to prevent it would be to place a PDF version of your Word file, making it uneditable. -
Why I do not see words when receive an Email containing graphics?
This happens only when open Emails with Firefox 7.0.
No problem with Internet Explorer.
When open Email with Firefox, I can only see the graphic part, but can not see the words that follow the graphic.Not sure I understand your question but here goes, Go to Settings, then Accounts, then click the Add New Account Icon on the bottom, then Email, then on the bottom of the screen click on the Advanced idon (looks like 2 plugs), from there you can choose the type of email account which for SBC is probably POP and fillin all the specific fields. If you get all the settings correct you should be in business.

Viewer Auto Resizes Columns – when too many columns
Hi Guys,
I’ve created a report in Desktop and am viewing it through Viewer (4.1). The report itself is a simple ‘table’ report with quite a lot of columns. (that’s where my problem comes in). I’m trying to tidy it up (mostly column X), therefore have wrapped a few columns in Discoverer Desktop all should look good….right?… well not quite ;-(
When viewing the Report in Viewer, Viewer has automatically resized or shrunk the columns. I have 24 columns in the report and even after Viewer has done it’s own resize to my columns, I still need to use the scroll bar to view columns to the right. So what was the point of Viewer doing that in the first place? Anyways, column X was originally word wrapped and expanded to include a lengthy description, however after being “Viewered” it is now the width of the heading text itself. Data within this columns is still wrapped, but by the size of the column heading.
I’ve noticed that if I start taking columns out one by one, Viewer will resize and increase the column size by a tiny amount. So to be able to display column X as required in Viewer, I’d have to take out 18 columns to be left with 6, which would then show Column X as the right size.
Please tell me if there is any workaround or settings that can be amended in the Pref.txt file?

There is nothing you can do in 4i to control this behavior, one very good reason to upgrade.
Discoverer Viewer will resize its columns in an attempt to fit them on a single page. It does this very well when the number of columns allows this. When you have more columns than can fit into a single page you will get multiple pages. If you reduce the headings for some of the columns are you able to get it to compress into a single page? If not, I fear you cannot do more.

Firstly, I really like the new reminders in iOS 7. However, I noticed that apple reminders do not disappear from "all" and "missed" view when dismissed from "today" view of notification center by marking the circle by the reminder. it requires me to take an extra step and click on "all" and then click the "x" to make it completely disappear and clear from notification center.

the behavior I would expect would be that when i click the circle on the "today" view. it would clear it out from the missed and all view so i would not have to clear in 2 areas.

Why isn't there any view options when playing music from devices in itunes?
I prefer to play all my music directly from my Ipod, but the truth is, itunes is useless on manually managing the content of large external devices, and the only major reason for this, as I see it, is the list-view only option.
I don't get why they've left out the grid view option. It would be so much qicker to pace through the ipod library to find what you're looking for, and it would look much cleaner. Considering how the ipod classic lacks any editing features, it would be nice to atleast have a more organized view when it's docked!
For the record I have started using Winamp again, as it feature much more options, but on the downside, it's much trickier to manage ipod playlists in winamp. So I rather wish apple would just open up the grid function, and hopefully the coverflow feature, for devices as well. I Can't believe why so few complain about this. It *****!!If there are music tracks in the Music app but your can't hear them, then make sure that you haven't set the volume limit for the app at the minimum : Settings > Music > Volume Limit

Why is Spry Tabs dropping below content out of view and back during page load.
Hello everyone, I'm having some
Spry Trouble. This is happening only in IE 7.
When the page loads, you'll notice that the tabs will
collapse before coming back to it's designated position.
This ruins the visual appeal. Again I don't know why this
happens but the tabs at the bottom of the content will quickly drop
below out of view and then jump back under the content.

I don't see the collapse issue on my end. About the only
visual thing going on is that the background image of the tabs
appears later than the text, but not sure that's an issue that's
particular to the Spry code on the page.
Perhaps it's related, or perhaps not, but in my IE7, I get an
error on the page. It states:

I only see HTML code at line 48 both in the source code, and
even if I pull the generated content view source from Firefox. I
checked line 48 of both of your attached JS files and neither
seemed to be an obvious issue. I even saved a local copy of the
page, and didn't get an error at all. The line of code in the HTML
does seem to be the end of the div that contains your music player,
maybe it's causing an issue in IE, not sure.

How can I stay in the timeline view and not switch to instrument view when i press the record button in garageband 1.2 on ipad 2 ? I know it's possible because i did it by accident,but now i cannot figure out how to do it again. It's driving me insane......please help!!!
After having experienced similar problems and having it back to work, I have a few suggestions:
- Try to find out if the syncing stops at a particular track or song. That might - out of the blue - have gotten corrupted in one way or another. Since that song will not be on the iPod, iTunes will try over and over to put it on and crash in one way or another;
- reformat the iPod as described in the iTunes 9 crash-thread. It takes time (at first it seems to do nothing, but that is because the green bar is moving with very small steps);

Can't figure out why colors don't totally change when you select type with curser? It looks like it has by looking at it, but when you highlight the area after the old color is still there. It happens with objects to. Driving me NUTZ. Help!
Select the text, and open the Appearance palette (Come on guys, text highlight is irrelevant, it happens to objects too says the OP), and see what's listed there. For a simple text object, there should only be a line item "Type", followed by "Characters", and when double-clicked the Characters line item expands to tell you the stroke and fill color. For a basic object, there should be a fill and/or stroke.
What happens sometimes, is that you end up adding extra strokes/fills to objects or text, and the appearance palette is where that will be noted. Especially when you are dealing with groups, and/or picking up a color with the eyedropper, you may inadvertently be adding a fill or stroke on top of something. You can drag those unwanted thingies from the Appearance palette into its own little trash can.
