Why's my page not publishing?

I'm new to i-web, but have successfully created a website and published various changes over the past couple of weeks. However, today, having made more changes, one of the pages won't update on the site. I've saved each page before I re-publish and have even re-created the page and deleted the old one incase that made a difference. But no .... still no joy. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

Good news! I was about to do the local folder thing, when I cleared out the cache and all my history, relaunched Safari and lo and behold, there were my updated pages. Maybe I was just a little to impatient, but thanks for your help and very prompt advice.

  • Why does my Blog not publish with the rest of my new pages and photos????

    Much more work was done on my iWebsite today and I even made a rudimentary beginning of a blog.
    QUESTION:
    Why does my blog not publish?
    Lorna in Southern California

    James, the blog is on Safari now. I am embarrassed to say that I had already forgotten that I needed to make a link to the Site Menu. Since I had done all of that in a tear of activity previously, it's as though the process did not stick in my head. Sort of like forgetting to plug in the computer. 8-(
    I did not even realize what I had done wrong until I made a hyperlink from that site to my site menu and checked to see that the blog became visible. It's disconcerting to think that this kind of thing could happen to me again. 8-(
    I would be very interested in seeing people's blogs and how they use them. I've seen blogs used as news reports, blogs with music videos, blogs with photos. I earlier thought that a blog was like a diary: Words only.

  • Why HTTP 404 Page not Found when trying to Backup Configuration?

    Good day:
    I bought this RV082 VPN Router.  After configuring it, I tried to save its configuration using the System Management's Backup Utility.  When I set everything up and ready to proceed, as I click on the Backup Configuration button, I get this Page Not Found error.
    After several additional retries, and cold startup of my laptop, I still get this.
    Then I wondered, "Why don't I try to upgrade the firmware instead?".
    Guess what: I get the same page not found error.
    Can anyone tell why is this?  Using Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
    Thanks in advance!
    Javier.
    P.S. I have replied to another thread about not getting connected with Quick VPN to the RV082, which is another painful trouble I've got with it.

    Hi Rybak,
    Thanks for your reply.
    Try to clean the Cache for TFS 2013 manually(delete the content of the folder only, not the cache folder itself):
    Clean the Cache folder on Server machine. The folder path is:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 12.0\Application Tier\Web Services\_tfs_data.
    After cleaned, on Server machine, click Start and select
    Run… to open the dialog box, then input iisreset.exe and click OK, wait it run completely.
    If clean Cache cannot resolve this issue, please try to repair your TFS 2013 Update 4 Server, then check the result.
    Additionally, you can run TFS 2013 Power Tools BPA to scan the installation of your TFS Server.

  • Why are JSP pages not being processed on iPlanet Web Server 4.1.

    JSP's have been enabled under the Servlets tab and the Path variables have been set on the Configure JRE/JDK page as recommended. Servlets are running but JSP's are NOT. Any ideas as to why JSP's are not running?

    Stephen,
    You need to install and point iWS to an external JDK as well.
    Try these instructions below and see if this works for you:
    1) Install your JDK. Make sure that all OS patches needed by the JDK are installed.
    2) Verify that the JDK installed correctly by going to /<JDK_INSTALLATION_HOME>/bin/java -version You should see version information if the bits are working properly.
    3) Install the webserver. When prompted to use the included JRE or to use an internal JDK, choose to use the internal JRE. DO NOT specify an external JDK during installation.
    4) Startup the Admin Server instance at /<server root>/https-admserv
    5) Access the Admin Server through the web interface.
    6) Go to Global Settings | Configure JRE/JDK Paths.
    7) Click on the JDK button and enter into JDK Path the path to the top level of your JDK path, ie /usr/jdk12205a. Leave the JDK Runtime Libpath and JDK Runtime Classpath field blank. Click OK, Save and Apply. If you encounter a problem when clicking OK, close out your browser and stop and start the https-admserv instance from the command line.
    8) Stop and start the Admin Server instance.
    9) Startup the webserver instance at /<server root>/https-<instance>
    10) Create a servlet directory under /<server root>/docs
    11) Copy HelloWorldServlet.class from /<server root>/plugins/samples/servlets/servlets/HelloWorld and place them      in your servlet directory.
    12) Copy HelloWorld.jsp from /<server root>/plugins/samples/servlets/jsp.092/HelloWorld and place them in your document root.
    13) Access your webserver as a client and hit the HelloWorld servlet using the URL      http://<myserver>/servlet/HelloWorldServlet
    14) Access your webserver as a client and hit the HelloWorld jsp using the url http://<myserver>/HelloWorld.jsp
    15) Your webserver is now running servlets using the JDK.
    Keep in mind: Do not specify the JDK path during the installation.

  • Too Many Photos? Pages not publishing....

    I have about 120 photos that I imported from iPhoto to iWeb. When I attempted to publish the site it fails. I need all the photos, what can be done?
    Mac Book Pro 15"   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Give a try at publishing to a folder on the desktop to see if all pages will publish. If they do then you know it's an issue with access to the iDisk.
    As a work around (if the publish to folder works) you could copy of contents of the folder you published to to the iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb folder and get them published that way until you can get it organized.
    Another way might be to separate each page into a separate domain.sites file with iWebSites and then link them manually with a text based navagation bar at the top. This way you can edit one page at a time and publish only that page.
    I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
    If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
    This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

  • Why is my asp page not publishing properly?

    Ok so here is a simple problem but it has me beat.
    I made a html page with a flash header here.
    http://www.wvhgc.org/memberslogin.html
    I then added an authenticate user server behaviour to the
    form and chose asp as the extension.
    http://www.wvhgc.org/memberslogin.asp
    So if you look at the above page you will see the error
    message that has me beet.
    So I look at the error line and it's pointing to the flash
    movie which was already in the html page.
    So I remove the movie and the page previews fine see here

    http://www.wvhgc.org/memberslogin2.asp
    But I don't want to do this, what is going wrong????

    Hello,
    It's the IE Conditional nested <object> tag that IIS
    ASP chokes on. (I used
    **** to mark it here)
    <object
    classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,24"
    width="891" height="500">
    <param name="movie" value="flash/header_v8.swf?button=0"
    />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="menu" value="false" />
    <!--[if !IE]> <-->
    *******************<object
    data="flash/header_v8.swf?button=0"
    width="891" height="500"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="menu" value="false" />
    <param name="pluginurl"
    value="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    />
    FAIL (the browser should render some flash content, not
    this).
    </object>*********************
    <!--> <![endif]-->
    </object>
    Since the flash is client side, you could do this:
    <<%Response.write ("object")%>
    classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,24"
    width="891" height="500">
    <param name="movie" value="flash/header_v8.swf?button=0"
    />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="menu" value="false" />
    <!--[if !IE]> <-->
    <object data="flash/header_v8.swf?button=0"
    width="891" height="500"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="menu" value="false" />
    <param name="pluginurl"
    value="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    />
    FAIL (the browser should render some flash content, not
    this).
    </object>
    <!--> <![endif]-->
    </object>
    OR, here's another workaround for this issue:
    http://seanys.com/2007/09/10/asp-flash-nested-objects/
    Take care,

  • Why is my Portfolio page not publishing?

    I have had a site up for some time. Today, I decided to change the background theme and when I republished the portfolio page only shows the headline but not the pictures and category pages. I didn't change the content, only the theme. What happened?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It appears that your Scripts folder in the site folder did not get uploaded or at least some files from that folder. Try uploading just the Scripts folder again to your site folder.
    You can see which files are missing by bringing up in Safari the Activity window (CommandOptionA) for you page.

  • Why is my page not centered in browser view?

    I am working on my home page.  I set the container dimension to 700px and max width 960.   I have tried other sizes.  every time in Windows browser view my site shifts to the left with a large margin on the right.  I can't get it to center.  I have an error message saying :
    Unsupported property: max-width
    Affects: Internet Explorer 6.0; Internet Explorer for Macintosh 5.2
    In Live View, it looks fine. Also, in browser view, my spry menu bar is not showing up (it does in Live View).
    Anyone have any suggestions??
    Thanks!  M.

    It would be soooooo much simpler and quicker for everyone if you would upload your page to your remote web space and post a link for us to see it in our browsers.
    My guess is that your code has validation errors that need fixing.

    FYI: Browser compatibility checking is a total waste of time.  You can skip that feature b/c it doesn't tell you anything useful.

  • Why "Open in pages" not showing in Mail app ?

    Hey!
    I just bought Pages and Keynote apps, and i'm trying to open PDF files from Mail app.
    The problem is that in "Open in..." , Pages and Keynotes are not in the list of applications!
    Someone know why?

    You can annotate pdf files with Good Reader - using the paid version anyway. I didn't know there was a free version.
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/goodreader-for-ipad/id363448914?mt=8
    There are other apps that will let you annotate pdf files as well. iAnnotate is another.
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iannotate-pdf/id363998953?mt=8
    BTW - you can import Word Documents into Pages as well as Pages documents. But you are looking for a solution for pdf files. Check out the apps above and you can search for othes.

  • Album Page not publishing correctly

    I've been using iWeb09 for about a year now for a small gallery. I've never had any problems until I recently tried to create an album page. Setting up the page was easy but I can't get it to publish correctly. Only 2 of the 8 albums appear on my website. I've tried re-building the page from scratch, I tried downsizing the file size of the images, I tried uploading the images through fetch instead directly uploading through iWeb's FTP, nothing has worked. You can find the offending page here:
    http://www.homeskooledgallery.com/HomeskooledGallery/Photo_Albums/PhotoAlbums.html
    Since the page doesn't work I have been Publishing the site without this page on the navigation bar so the only way to find it is by copying and pasting the address directly. I appreciate any and all help!
    Thanks!

    your pictures file names contain space , iweb albums/photos page use picture file names to create sub folder (inside Media folder), here is your media folder:
    http://www.homeskooledgallery.com/HomeskooledGallery/Photo_Albums/Pages/Clean-Up_Your_Own_Messfiles/Media/
    most if not all servers do not allow special characters in directory/file path, so no directories were created. hence missing thumbnails, ie:
    http://www.homeskooledgallery.com/HomeskooledGallery/Photo_Albums/Pages/Clean-Up_Your_Own_Messfiles/Media/Clean-Up%20Your%20Own%20Mess%204/mip.jpg
    notice the %20 in the url? they are spaces, you need to remove spaces and special characters from your pictures file names and re-do all your albums/photos pages.

    Also why are the DOCTYPE html and html tags different? The HTML published by CC is missing all that jazz about W3C....??

  • Why does deregister page not send me a text

    I go to the deregister page and put my  number in for it to send me a text.  The text never comes.  Thanks a lot apple!!!

    Hi there kelamb10,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    The article linked below provides information about the process of deregistering iMessage and it also provides tips that explain why you may not have received a text message after deregistering.
    Deregister iMessage: Frequently Asked Questions - Apple Support
    I entered my phone number but never got a code. Why?
    Double check to be sure you entered your number correctly.
    The phone you're using might not show a notification when you get a text message. Open the text messaging app on your phone and look for the message.
    If you still can't find the text with the code, ask your wireless phone carrier if they allow people to send SMS texts to your phone number using short codes. Also, if you transferred your phone number very recently, you might not be able to get SMS messages yet while your carrier updates their system with your new information.
    Take care,
    -Jason
