I use itunes and i bought Texas Hold'em game. Nice, I said: let's go for a backup. What?? I CAN ONLY MAKE BACKUPS ON DVD AND NOT ON HDD-FILE?? Ok, don't worry, let's use a DVD... What?? Itunes don't recognise my DVD Writer??
It' doesn't matter... Then a virus: i had to format PC. Don't worry, someone says it's simple: let's go to istore again, login, buy again the same game and then itunes would download it again for you recognising you've already bought that game 2months ago. NOT TRUE.
Plese tell me_: why should i continue to use a software that is not able to make a simple backup in a folder or on a dvd? Why have i to buy games for ipod?

Thanks to all. In fact I used Manually backup for all songs and cover, BUT IT DOESN?T WORK WITH DOWNLOADED GAMES. When I formatted i chenged from an ipod 3rd gen to an ipod 4th gen. I've tried to restore my hand-made music backup and it works. I've tried to restore my hand-made game backup and it lacks. So i tried to download again from istore because i bought Texas Hold'em weeks before. Istore confirms it's already bought and simply doesn't allow to dawload the game again.
I'm gonna try with the last release of iTunes.

If it were for Mozilla alone Brendan didn't have to leave - we would like nothing better than to rehire Brendan. In fact, we didn't want him to leave in the first place. However it was his personal decision to resign among all this ongoing frenzy, threats and mischaracterization of him as a person and the Mozilla community coming from third-parties, in order for the constant bombardment to end and to avert any further damage to Mozilla and its mission that he helped build for many years in such an essential role.
So in this sad process we have lost a co-founder and brilliant technical mind and now the "other side" of the political spectrum also comes along, again very quick rushing to judgement, bashing our community and some voicing calls for boycotts against our products.
 In my opinion Mozilla has not deserved to be in the middle of all of this and getting entangled in the politics of the day certainly isn't the right place for us to be in. Our community exists to advance the state of the Web by promoting openness, innovation and opportunity, which should be the one goal we can all unite around, no matter which views we might have otherwise.

Why do I continue to receive an iTunes has Stopped Working error after finally updating to 11.1.4?

Like many here it seems, in updating iTunes to 11.1.4 I received the Error 7 (windows error 126) error, as well as the MSVCR80.DLL is missing error. With help from this site, I managed to fully uninstall iTunes and then reinstall 11.1.4. The iTunes program will now open, but within 1-2 seconds it will crash with the error message "iTunes has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." This error happens every time the program is opened. I am using a 64-bit version of Windows 7. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can resolve it? I sure would love to be able to use my iTunes library again!

Why do you continue to use a G4?

This may seem like an odd question as I assume that the obvious answer is economics for some, the need to still use OS9 for others and the fact that older G4's are cheap and highly upgradeable/hackable.
I bring this up because, I-like many on here, are looking (or already have) to spend hundreds of dollars upgrading our G4's but it dawned on me that instead of spending $600 or $700 to upgrade my machine I could use that money (coupled with what I get from selling my MDD) and purchase a faster G5.
The G4 line is testament to the sound design of the Apple PowerMac, but at some point technology will surpass it-future versions of OSX and other software may only work on-a bare minimum- the G5.

I use the G4 because I do simple computing such as surfing the I-net, playing archaic 1980's-1990 based games, and some games of today though not as much. I also use the computer for everyday tasks such as: burning DVDs+CDs, making music cds, etc. I use it for word processing and microsoft office applications.
Although, I do make good money working for the US Gov't, I still don't have the funds to further upgrade to a newer machine, esp since personally I have a hatred towards the intel architecture and its technology - hense why I won't go with a Mac Pro b/c of that + the price is way too high.
If anything I will continue to use the G4 MDD as it serves my needs and probably will for the many years to come. I plan to run Slackware linux on my computer when I feel mac os x won't run on my machine. I do plan to get Leopard, thats if it is supported on the G4 MDD machine. Although, my blue prints for the future state that I probably will return to the PC architecture under the powerful processing power of AMD which is a cool processor for almost anything.
Although, I have A+ certification and network certs in PC networking, I have given up the technology, and so my knowledge goes back to P3 and earlier intel based machines.
A few interesting dates as to when I started on the Mac.
Circa 2000-2001 = Worked at Comp-USA as a corporate account manager/retail hardware sales representative and decided to buy the then 350mhz sawtooth or AGP Graphics power mac G4.
Because of financial difficulties I wound up selling my mac and restoring all power back to my Pentium III 866mhz machine with the full 768mb of pc133 memory. This was from late 2001-2005.
Late 2005 - Having been macsick over the fact that I sold my mac back in 2001 I came across the sawtooth mac again, but this time at 500mhz using the 7410 power4 processor. I purchased this one off of ebay.
End of 2005 - decided to search ebay for a better board and processor and this led me to the rise of the digital audio power mac g4 - THE MAC AT THIS STAGE IN MY LIFE WAS SET IN STONE. PowerPC all the way, until....
2006-present = Still have G4 Digital Audio and passing this onto my son. The processor is a 733mhz processor w/1MB cache. Then on craigslist I just acquired the Mirror Drive Doors G4 with Dual processors running at 1.25GHZ w/4 MB total L3 cache(2MB/Processor). I am loving this machine very much, but with Apple finally going with the PC technology and abandoning the power architecture, I am contemplating either later on looking into the G5(pending comfortable price level) - or reviving the PC and going with an AMD OPTERON system, however using Linux or BSD instead of windows vista.
All in all, this Mac is a very very powerful machine and I enjoy using it. I am sorry to those out there that think the G4 and possibly G5 can't provide basic/intermediary computing, but for the price of the new mac intel pc's, I can say that its better to consider a native PC than dual booting mac/pc. This is my own opinion of course. I am sorry if I have seriously offended people and Apple on here, but I am entitled to my own opinion. Mac OS X is based off of BSD and similar to FreeBSD which I used to run on my P3 system. I just don't see the cost for paying overpriced dollars for a machine that has more power than I could ever need.
For what I do and most on here will agree with me: 3ghz is something that I really don't need at the present, possibly not at all.

Why should my clients who use contribute 3 suffer because I upgrade from cs3 to cs4?

I developed a template that can be used by a number of chapters of a charitable organization. The chapters who subscribe to my template all purchased contribute cs3 and it works well for them. I may have made the mistake of buying the CS4 upgrade, as any new keys that I send using Dreamweaver cs4 to new users can not be used by users with contribute cs3. Most of these chapter already using contribute 3, do not have the funds to upgrade to contribute 4.
The code of my template has not changed, only the tool that I use to administer it has, why should they have to upgrade because I have?
This also makes it so that older users of my template will not be able to beneifit from the new version of the template. Do I have to reinstall CS3 and keep using CS3 to administer their network or do I have to force them to purchase the upgrade because I chose to upgrade to Dreamweaver CS4? There had to be a way I can send a contribute 3 user a new key because the user has changed names without forcing them to upgrade. Otherwise I have to develop my template so that changes can be made by users using other wisiwig programs.

Yes I had the notion I may have been duped into buying a counterfeit CS3. I got it from Amazon and though Adobe seem to think that the serial number is OK they could not trace it on their system. However, if ths is a fake copy, what can Adobe do to help? How did they help you? I can't see them giving me a free CS3 in exchange - so I'm stuck!

I had exactly the same problem and I am sorry to say that you may have a counterfeit version of CS3. Contact Adobe they helped me to sort out the problem.

I loaded Spotify last night to try it out properly for good, to see whether all the hype by an old music buddy of mine was worth the money and time invested in sharing with other members of the Spotify community, creating playlists of music that I like and finding like-minded people online and creating a personalized radio station akin to the one I had going at one time when I still had a day job - listening to PANDORA. I created a custom playlist using songs selected from Nirvana, Eels, The Metroschifter, Jimi Hendrix, The Fugees, Johnny Cash, Kanye West, Led Zeppelin, Tower Of Power, Eve 6, M.I.A., Paul Simon, The Smashing Pumpkins, Elliot Smith, Death Cab for Cutie, Sandrine and Radiohead. I then started a new radio station based upon the selected playlist I had created. I did this through two modules of code from the right click on the list itself and the search suggestion of the custom list itself - thinking maybe there was some janky glitch in the software which was playing the suggested music improperly as the player didn't seem to work well when I first loaded it, freezing at times and doing nothing - both modes connected me to the same custom radio playlist selections. By signing up for Spotify Premium and committing myself to what would become a yearly habit of spending ~$120 a year on music or the equivalent of 120 singles on iTunes and their accompanying Genius playlist creation, I ended up with the following as suggestions for music to listen to based upon the aforementioned artists. Thin Lizzy, Ted Nugent, Iron Maiden, Ram Jam, The Doors, Van Halen, ZZ Top, Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest (That one took about 15 suggested likes and dislikes and 40 skips of user feedback from me to get it to pop up), AC/DC - OVER AND OVER AND OVER, skipping song after song after song and getting the same garbage. Yes, I like some of the songs from artists listed as playback and indicated as such with a positive and negative feedback accordingly, but hardly a custom radio station does this make. Is the algorithm so good that it can improve my life by getting me to round out my musical tastes by getting me to listen to more 80’s rock? No.
Either Spotify has a major flaw in their algorithm for music selection, they take forever to process user feedback, they just can't get it right, they should be paying me and not the opposite to help them develop their software or they just plain SUCK! USING IPOD, ITUNES AND AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE-URGENT

Greetings. All my songs are save in my extereal portable hard drive (Under the music folder). I DO NOT like saving song in the hard drive of my ibook because it eats up too much space. When I connect the external hard drive to my mac and open itunes, the songs do not come out in itunes. The songs only come out when i connect my ipod. My seeting for my ipod is manual. What I would like to do is- whenever i transfer songs to itunes, the song in my ipod are also automatically updated. the songs in the external hard drive should also be updated. In short, the songs that i should have in the ipod should be the songs in itunes and in the external drive. how do i do this? what settings should i do? I am afraid to click on automatically update songs because it might erase my whole ipod library. Please advise. thanks.

First I would use Finder and go verify that your songs are actually on your external hard drive. If they are, then make sure you specified iTunes directory is pointing to the correct directory on that external hard drive.
If both look ok, then go ahead and switch it on over to automatic. Otherwise, if the songs still arent showing up just re-add them all to your library.

You might want to check the details you have linked to your account by visiting the website (appleid.apple.com) > Manage your Apple ID > Then sign in.

Because charging the battery cause the battery to get warms/hot. A case insulates the iPod so it dissipates heat slower so the iPod/battery will get hotter during charging. A higher temperature permanently degrades the battery faster.
