What does an apple Tv do? why should i get one? are they any good? how do you use them?

Any good? Im a grumpy "doesn't like anything person" AppleTV is far and above worth the $100 cost of same.
Tons of free content. You can wifi beam your screen to your TV via the AppleTV, beam movies, youtube content on the screen.
AppleTV doesnt even have a bottom, plug it into the wall, plug HDMI cable from IT to your Tv set.....
3 mins to set it up with remote and then its all cruising from there.
If you get one, youll only be upset that you didnt buy one earlier.

WHY should I get an iPhone NOW?

I've been a Verizon customer forever and I've been DYING for an iPhone. So all my waiting has paid off, right? Why hasn't Verizon sent me any REAL info on the iPhone that's going to be available to me. I'm kind of disappointed. It's been a huge push to sell me an iPhone, but I get no details. I have plenty of questions that Verizon has not seemed to answer for me.
Everything I've been reading tells me that the iPhone that will be available for me (iPhone 4) will NOT be compatible on the Verizon 4G network. Is this true?
I'm also hearing that Apple will be rolling out an iPhone (iPhone 5?) in June or July that WILL work on the 4G network. If this is true, then WHY in the world would I spend $200 or $300 NOW on a phone that will be obsolete in 4 to 5 months?
Believe me, I REALLY want an iPhone. I've been waiting patiently for YEARS for this to happen. But I want to spend my money wisely and not end up with an obsolete phone soon after I get it.
Can someone tell me if this info is accurate and tell me why I should get an iPhone now instead of waiting a few more months and get a better phone that will work on a better network?

Why do I get an apple on my Ipad after it locks up and then comes back to life?

My wifi 32 gb Retina Ipad seems to crash . Seems like it started after IOS 6 upgrade... Looking at web pages it might just close application... Not too bad ,, then on occasion it will lock up and I hold the side button and then push the home button and it will go dark and then show a white apple in the middle and then after a while repair itself..... Any Ideas? Anyone know what the apple symbol means? Thanks Joe

If the reset and restore doesn't work, try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode (data will be lost)
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

Why should i get 3G?

I am debating on purchasing an IPAD2 or a macbook pro. Yes, they are completely different. I'm leaning towards the ipad2 right now, but am confused on the 3G. It already has wifi, why do I need the 3G?

The built in map program also uses the gps, if itis available. The other option, not mentioned in the discussion, is a wifi only pad. If you have an iphone or droid that can tether the 3g signal, you get the 3 g protability with the 130 buck up front cost. You are going to pay for the data either way, check with your carrier. But if you will only need the 3 g as a back up, the wifi only is a good option. If your daily routine is on the road, you probably want the 3 g for the pure convenience.

I have an apple ID since 2005 and I use it everywhere (app store, iTunes, mail....) I'm trying to activate Message on my iPad, but it doesn't recognize my I'D or password... What to do?

I think the feature has been disabled by the Enterprise Software installed on the devices (I use both devices for my work). I will reconfirm it though.

Ave been using an ipad for si have been uongs, and app purchases, using my wifes apple id. now i have a new apple lap top, i am wondering why would i get my own id as opposed to keeping "ours"

i have been using an ipad for songs, apps, etc, i now am migrating to a mac book, my question is, i have been using my wifes apple id for all of our purchases, sharing, etc. now that i have a laptop, i am wondering, why should i get my own user id or why would i not just continue on using our common id?
she worries about us taking up too much space in the cloud, which i am not using yet but will learn

i dont know why you would make a separate account either if you have been getting on fine before, unless you need to talk to your wife with iMessage or something
if you do run out of cloud storage it's probably cheaper to just upgrade it than make your own apple id and have to buy everything again

1- how is battery life? i usually need a lot of it.
2- how is internet browsing? is it good? i have heard that its not good looking cause of that aspect ratio.
3- how to transfer files to and from Air 2 WITHOUT iTUNES? i dont like iTunes, cause it runs in the background in my PC and really just dont need it. i simply hate it.
4- can i download torrents to this Air2?
5- also can i use data from the 4G Air 2 and make or receive calls and messages from 4G variant?
and over all, is it any better than Tab S? how is UI, do people really get bored from plain UI? can i do any modifications if i like? i do a lot of mods in my android phones and tabs!

1. The iPad Air 2 has a new Battery that promises longer battery life. But of course that will depend on what you do with it. Battery intensive activities like games, and video playback will use more battery than regular activities like browsing or email answering.
2. Not sure what Aspect ratio would do to internet browsing.   As long as the website is built correctly it will adapt to the screen.
3. The iPad does not have a user accessible file system. You can use cloud services, like iCloud Drive, or Google Drive, Dropbox etc... to get files to and from the iPad through Apps that can access these services. Alternatively other Apps exist that will let you upload files directly to the App through a browser on your computer.   But for most transfers iTunes is required.
4. No. Torrents and torrent Apps are not allowed in the store outside of BitTorrent's Sync for Image shack
5. You can only make and receive cell calls and text messages on the iPad if you own an iPhone in conjunction with the iPad. Otherwise no.   4G is strictly for Internet access, not Phone service.
I like the UI, to me its not boring, its perfect for what you need to do with it, but YMMV. To each their own. The iPad is not really customize-able directly. It requires a certain degree of hacking, and that is not supported by Apple and as such cannot be discussed here.
If you really want an iPad, I suggest you forget what you do on Android, and take it on its own, because the experience is completely different. Trying to get it to do things you the way you do them on Android will just be an exercise in frustration. Its more of adapt to the way things are done on iOS and you'll see there are many many things you can do with it.

i won't have any meaning here so use i.index_name
if u want to know the count then better use a variable say

I have a question...how would you convince someone that they need the new iphone 4? I'm looking to buy a new phone but why should i get the new iphone?

I am not sure how many people are going to be interested in "pleading the case". No offence, but I'm not about to have sleepless nights on whether you decide to buy an iPhone.
Surely the lovers of all the phones are going to tell you how wonderful they all are. You'd be better off looking at some reputable sites which carry reviews of phones - to see how well they actually work and which ones offer the features you want.

Should I get texting?

Assuming texting is optional in the service plan, why should I get it? I don't understand why people do texting. Why not just talk? I haven't had a cell phone before.

I think it's just popular with them because they would rather chat...than actually talk...and they can do it without anyone listening in on their conversation. They also love to exchange pictures. I am also finding that a lot of adults would rather text than talk. I personally would rather talk, but I do use texting now more than I ever use to. It is a quick way of communicating a short message and sometimes if you forget to say something in a phone call...you can just text it, rather than call back. Or if you want to hit the spouse up with a few items to get from the grocery store...just text it and they'd be less likely to forget. It's also a way to send the same message to more than one person. I definitely use it to communicate with my kids too. They shoot me a text saying they're home from school...or to pick them up at a certain time, because I can not always answer the phone at work.

This is either a Phone issue or an Electrical issue in your home.! when charging Do you always use the same electrical outlet? or did you try others..
You will know or should know if there are any issues with your other Electronics.. that you Plug into it..
If it is the s5 which it sounds like it could be then the Local Verizon store at there Discretion will determined if replacement is needed you have a 1 year Manufactures Warranty that covers for things like what your Describing I would take it too your local store see if they'll get you a Replacement or you may have to go through Samsung..

While I am no fan of Best Buy and would not buy a lightbulb from them I doubt you issues have anything to do with your iMac and more to do with your lack of experience and simply getting bad advice. Judging by you post I suspect you have loaded your computer down with a lot of crapware and that has caused it's problems. For example running antivirus apps on a Mac not only is a waste of time, it's a waste of money, system resources and will eventually create more problems that it solves. Please begin educating yourself on the subject by reading Thomas Reeds articles on the subject, Thomas is a frequent and knowledgeable contributor to these forums. The good news is here are absolutely no, zero, zippo viruses for OS X. There are other types of malware available (for example trojans) however they differ greatly from viruses in that the use has to download and install them, whereas viruses do not work that way. OS X is not like MS Windows and is extremely secure.
My suggestion at this point would be to clean your computer of the crapware (including antivirus apps) however before doing so please download and install EtreCheck and post its report. Then we can see how your computer has been configured and begin to give you some advice on the next steps.
