Why should you keep your mp3 player away from magne

in the owners manual it says "keep the micro away from magnets"...... Why?
Does anyone here rap their headphones around their mp3 player (with a hard disk dri've) and have you ever had any problems with it's

For a hard disk based player well... because it has a hard disk inside it which uses magnetic storage.]
Edit: The magnetism from headphones is unlikely to cause a problem (I've never had any issues with this). Be careful of wrapping the headphone cord around the player though, this can stress the headphone socket.Message Edited by SSR on 04-28-2005 06:34 AM

  • Keep your mp3 away from a televis

it might sound strange, but it has been proved my a professor in Norway. If you keep your mp3 close to you tv, electricity might be transfered to mp3, giving you a significend electricshock. a girl lost her hearing on one ear becouse the player suddely stared playing realy high(above 80 db, as high as jetplane-motor if you have the earphones on). so be carefull.

    Weird.
I doubt this is as true as it says mind you.
That voluime thing must have been more a malfunction than an electric shock caused by TV static.
You can build static electricity up from anywhere, and it won't do harm to the player itself, or you for that matter. Even putting it into and out of your pocket will build up static.
Though its not very good for instance to place an MP3 player that uses a hard dri've near something magnetic. Thats just common sense.
I doubt also 80db would be possible at full volume on any player, and even on any headphone without blowing them.
That definietly wasn't caused by putting the player too close to a TV anyway.Message Edited by flame on 02-08-2006 08:40 PM

  • It appears you have no support. Why should I purchase your products

No support why should i purchase your products ?

These are user to user forums, no one here is selling you any products.  As far as support goes, if you look around you will see that plenty of support is offered for people who post their issues here, and fairly quickly at that.  There are also support channels for directly contacting Adobe that are clearly advertised in their web site.  Where are you looking that you conclude there is no support?

  • How do you keep your purchased apps if you are forced to change your Apple ID?

How do you keep your purchased apps if you are forced to change your Apple ID? A good example is if you are forced to change your email, which you use as your Apple ID.  what if it is a security app and you lose a lot of data if you lose the app? Why are the apps tied to the Apple ID rather than the user? Why is it impossible to globally change the Apple I D?

All content is tied to the account, but you can change the primary email address on an account e.g. you can log into your account via the Store > View Account on your computer's iTunes and there should be an Edit button to the right of your account id on your account's page, or similarly on your iPad try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and view your account. Or you can update it by logging into it via this page http://appleid.apple.com . You shouldn't lose any content on the account if you update it.
After updating the account you may need to log out of your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in with the updated version for it to be 'refreshed' on it

  • What Mac do you keep your iTunes stuff on?

Would love to hear from the community on here of people that have multiple macs like me; on which machine(s) do you keep and buy your music and videos on?
I have an iMac G5, that has a 250GB hard drive, so I currently use that as my base computer that has all my music and videos on it. Connected to it is my iPod dock, so that I can easily sync my iPod to have all my media that is on the iMac on it. I can use my intel mac mini to stream the content on my iMac to play and watch through the mini which is connected to my 32" LCD TV.
But my PowerBook, soon to be replaced with a MacBook, has nothing on it. I can stream content from the iMac to play on it, but when I am away from home, I only have my media on my iPod. Unlike a laptop or iPod, if either of those got stolen, I won't be losing my music, video, and photo collections becasue they are stored back home on my iMac. Plus, I like to keep my iPod as untethered as possible, so that it remains portable and not tied to printers, iPod docks, scanners, etc.
I don't really listen to music constantly in the background when I am on any computer, but it would be nice to have my music and photo collection with me on the road on my laptop. I have used, with limited success lately, Crispsofties's iPod.iTunes to transfer or sync music from my iPod to my PowerBook, but since the iPod video, it hasn't worked well.
Finally, with three computers to choose from, I find myself hesitant to surf iTunes Music Store seriously on anything other than my iMac, because I still don't see an easy way to transfer music I bought on one computer to my other computers. It seems that if I am signed into my iTunes account, and all 3 computers are authorized, I should be able to easily move and/or sync my iTunes library between all my macs.
So, with all that said, what do most of you do as a solution to where you keep your media when working with multiple macs?

    Jim--
Here's what I do. I have a PowerBook that has my main iTunes library on it. It's the one my iPod is paired with. I also have an ancient iMac that has all the same songs on it. I use the iMac to stream music to my stereo.
I keep the libraries in sync between the PowerBook and iMac with file sharing via the local network or using FireWire drives. When I first transferred the PowerBook's library to the iMac, I copied the library to a FireWire drive and just re-imported the songs into iTunes on the iMac.
Ordinarily, when I have songs I want to transfer from one computer to the other, I use file sharing, since it'll only take a few minutes to transfer via ethernet. I just log in to the iMac and copy the files to its hard drive, then import them into iTunes.
This doesn't copy across play counts and playlists and such from one machine to the other, but I don't really worry about those features anyway. I pretty much stick to one smart playlist with iTunes that plays songs that haven't been played for a set amount of time.

  • How can you keep your iPhone 4 (using it as my car's iPod) staying on the Audible app?  When I leave the car and return to continue hearing a book, it has switched to iTunes.

How can you keep your iPhone 4 (using it as my car's iPod) staying on the Audible app?  When I leave the car and return to continue hearing a book, it has switched to iTunes.

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone.

  • How do you keep your VPN clients up to date?

Hi, how do you keep your Cisco VPN clients up to date? Our users connect to a Cisco 3015 Concentrator. It needs to be as automatic as possible.
    Thanks

    Check this link,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/vpn_client/cisco_vpn_client/vpn_cli
    ent46/administration/guide/vcAch3.html
    Example:
Steps to perform an automatic update for VPN client :
    ===================================================
    1. Download update-4.8.00.0440-major-K9 file on your PC from the link below and unzip it.
    http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/vpnclient-3des
It will have the following files::
    - binary_config.ini
    - sig.dat
    - vpnclient-win-is-8.00.0440-k9.exe
    - vpnclient-win-msi-8.00.0440-k9.exe
    2. Create a webserver with a folder and move all the above files to this folder on webserver.
    3. Now on your vpn client create a new profile. This profile file will appear in the profiles folder of the vpn client. Copy this file to your desktop and zip it. Name the
zipped file as profiles.zip. Delete the profile from the client.
    4. Make a copy of your binary_config.ini on your desktop. Rename it to new_update_config.ini. This is just to make sure its not saved as a txt file.
Open the above file and write the following on it:
    [Autoupdate]
    Required=1
    5. Now move the new_update_config.ini and profiles.zip to the webserver. Once we browse to the webserver it should look like --
    http://webserver/~razshah/vpn_profile_update462/
    Index of /~razshah/vpn_profile_update462
    Name Last modified Size Description
    Parent Directory 09-Mar-2005 13:24 -
    binary_config.ini 09-Mar-2005 13:26 1k
    new_update_config.ini 11-Mar-2005 11:35 1k
    profiles.zip 09-Mar-2005 13:26 1k
    sig.dat 09-Mar-2005 13:26 2k
    vpnclient-win-is-4.6..> 09-Mar-2005 13:26 7.6M
    vpnclient-win-msi-4...> 09-Mar-2005 13:26 10.3M
    6. The concentrator is configured as follows:
    Client Type is Windows
    URL http://webserver/~razshah/vpn_profile_update462
    Revisions 4.6
    7. On your PC go to the VPN Client > updates folder. Delete the update_config file if its already there. This folder should have only autoinstall (this file will be added if update works) autoupdate header files.
The update does take about 5 mins. To see the new file we have to close and reopen the client. Once connected make sure you are able to browse to the webserver and see all the files.
1- Auto update runs only on Windows 2000 and Windows XP, all other client types update manually. Windows NT users get notified and can get an update manually from the update server.
2- Remote users must have the VPN Client for Windows 4.6 or greater installed on their PCs to use the automatic update feature.

updates are stupid. The letest apple itunes update will not let you keep your old password.
Probably pertains to those of us who have kept same password for apple id since inception. New rules make you do all sorts of stupid characters instead of keeping it simple.

sam it sounds like ur password has a low level of security and new update wants to to make it stronger
when it askes to to make ur password just put ur old one back in but replace some letters with caps and numbers
i got them same thing when i updated mine to the new version
