Why siri cant look for places in cyprus?

i see the videos all the time on apple and im from cyprus. I am sad for the thought that i cant look for places via siri on iphone 4s. Or traffic, or maps.. cant apple connect the maps and traffic from the google maps or something?

You are writing to fellow users like yourslef here. We are not Apple employees. You would need to contact Apple in order to suggest that they add Siri service in Cyprus in the future.

[SOLVED] makepkg error: Why is it looking for '.part' files?

I've been seeing the following problem with every package I try to build with makepkg. The download works, but then makepkg complains that it can't find the source file:

Why is it looking for the .part file, instead of the .tgz file? When I run makepkg again, without doing anything in between, it finds the .tgz file and goes on its merry way.
I'm using curl, and I haven't tried wget. Judging by my unscientific sample of forum posts it looks like wget is the de facto standard, so this may not be on anyone else's radar.

It looks like this code is the culprit. I don't have time to dig into it right now, but presumably this works with wget. I would have thought any cmdline downloader would manage renaming the .part file itself...?

I told it to look for a drive, yet it is constantly saying that it is "looking for other computers". It doesn't find the external drive ... it just endlessly looks for other computers. Why is it looking for other computers at all, when I told it not to?

Wow, the wording in Migration Assistant is misleading. I've never used it before, so I thought I would try to copy my files from the external drive ... my old iMac died, but I managed to get everything I need off it, using the 'cp' command in single-user mode. So I guess I'll just have to manually copy the files from the external drive to the new machine. I was hoping that Migration Assistant might help somehow, but obviously not.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

HT204350 Why does the"Looking for source..." message go on FOREVER? The macbook doesn't seem to recognize my hard drive!

I'm migrating a new 15" Macbook Pro with retina display - using Time Machine.
I've started Migration Assistant on the new mac and selected to transfer info from Time Machine.
After I click continue, I get a "Looking for source..." message that goes on FOREVER.
My hard drive is connected to my new macbook with a USB cable.
(I'm migrating this way because I don't have a Thunderbolt adapter.)
What am I doing wrong? Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm having the same problem. I checked the hard drive and it shows backups done earlier today but Migration Assistant just shows the spinning gear with "Looking for source . . ."
Anybody have suggestions?

Why does iTunes Looking for iPad fail?

In iTunes when I click on Apps for my iPad listed under DEVICES and then select an app (usually FileMaker Go) and try to drag one of the app's files to the iMac desktop, I will get that iTunes is "Looking fo iPad" and then after a few seconds the iPad will disappear from the iTunes DEVICES list. After several times quit and launching iTunes and trying again, I will be able to get it to work FINALLY. I am accessing the iPad and my iPhone as well via wifi when I do this. I don't do this kind of operation nearly as often with my iPhone, but have had the same problem with it as well. I have connected the devices via usb, clicked on summary for the device, and unchecked and checked "Sync with this iPad (or iPhone depending) over Wi-Fi. That has not solved the problem. I am on Mac OS 10.8, iTunes 10, iOS 5.1.1 on both i-devices.

I just installed iTunes 10.7 and got a new router in case that was the problem. Still these devices just appear and disappear from itunes willy-nilly. Often the disappear when trying to move data to the idevice's app (mainly fm go), I'll get the message "Looking for iPhone" or iPad and then it will disappear from the iTunes DEVICES list. I guess no one else is having the problem as I have had no comments from any one in the community and I should just give up on this discussion.

I can only answer the part 2 of this question right now.
PDF files can be created by print applications or document applications: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, to name a few major ones. Adobe Reader cannot create PDF files. It can only read PDF files and it can only read files that were properly created. It has "codecs" (not really the correct use of this word) to parse most types of PDF files. However the creators of PDF files (the apps that I mentioned) might create a PDF file in a specific type of format that not every application can read. That is why if you visit a print shop they might ask that your PDF file be created in a specific format which is enabled by Adobe Distiller or Acrobat itself in the Publishing options. Have a look at types of PDF files online such as on wikipedia or on adobe's website under Adobe Acrobat Help

The default is "localhost" and "21212". The message says I cant connect to host. Can anyone be kind enough to provide me some ideas about my situation?

Something, most likely some variant of the Nimda worm, is trying to infect your Web Server. There's little you can do to stop this. Fortunately, only Windows machines running Microsoft IIS are vulnerable, so you can safely ignore the resulting error messages.

If I close the last (left) tab to return to my desktop, firefox tries to load google Chrome and reports to me that it can't find the server.
Apparently, I have missed an option in the help area that prevents this. Any ideas?

OK, if you are so confident it would work, why not release a several clones of your Mac to several users to have a totally controlled environment for people to test your software under. Then people can at their leisure try to see if adding any of their commonly used programs to see if they affect What you are about to use.
If you distribute it under an uncontrolled environment, you can never know what actually is going wrong.
I think that just reading the code is the best way to find errors, but it's very long.
Furthermore, it is highly unlikely than more than 1/100th of 1% of the people on this board are programmers. Of those maybe 1/100th of 1% are still running Mac OS 9.

You'd have better luck trying to start a usergroup of people who use 9 by looking at http://www.apple.com/usergroups/ for people interested.
This being a user to user forum of people who are troubleshooting their own problems is not the best of places to find beta testers. People barely have time to troubleshoot their own problems with one program, let alone 130.
I hate to play the devil's advocate here, since I normally am optimistic, but I don't think you are going to get a significant number of testers here with your approach.
