Only Apple management can answer that and they don't give out that type of information.

  • Does anyone know how often camera raw is updated for new cameras I have a nikon D750

HI, I was wondering how often camera raw is updated for new cameras as I have just got a Nikon D750 and at present cannot adjust raw files

Thanks for the image sample, bsailus. I am also unable to open the file.
    A couple of questions.
How did you import the image (Nikon transfer, Adobe Photo Downloader, etc.)?
What was the in-camera quality setting for the image (NEF (RAW), Lossless compressed, 12-bit, 14-bit, etc.)?
    Thanks!

I'm interested in seeing who gets the D7100 support first? Apple or Adobe!! I will go with the one that gets it out first.
    FWIW,
Adobe keeps a quarterly release schedule for RAW updates. The current Lightroom 4.4 RC expires on 5/31/2013 which typically is an indication that the official release will be close to that date. According to the current list of new supported cameras, the Nikon D7100 is not slated to be supported (but that could change on release).

The most likely time frame for Adobe support of the D7100 will be sometime in August or September 2013 (although there will probably be a Lightroom 4.5 RC available prior to that for testing purposes).

  • Creative Cloud is always empty and I cannot update LR and PS and cannot open RAW files from my new camera!

My Creative Cloud is always empty.  I've had this trouble for over a year.  I cannot update Lightroom because of it and Photoshop does not update properly.  I cannot open the RAW files from my new camera, a Nikon D750.  Each time I want to update, I have to talk to you and delete things and reinstall things but it doesn't fix it properly!
I have contacted Adobe before and always have to go through a tedious delete stuff and reinstall, then next time it happens all over again.
I'm really fed up with it and want to know how to fix it properly.  I am in the UK, if that makes any difference.

  • Photoshop CS4 does not recognize raw photos taken with newer cameras. Anyone else have this problem?

Photoshop CS4 will not recognize RAW2 photos taken with my new Panasonic Lumix FZ100 camera. This camera is listed in Adobe's 6.2 Camera Raw update for Photoshop CS5 but cannot be loaded in CS4. I paid a lot of money for CS4 and don't want to buy CS5 just because I bought a new camera, but it appears that Adobe no longer updates Camera Raw for CS4 or with newer cameras. When I called the Help Desk to find out if there was some kind of patch I could get to make CS4 compatible with my new camera a gentleman in New Delhi informed me that he couldn't even answer my question until I paid $40 since answering questions about CS4 was a "paid service." I hung up in a rage. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution?

This camera is listed in Adobe's 6.2 Camera Raw  update for Photoshop CS5 but cannot be loaded in CS4.
Adobe does indeed not update obsolete versions of Camera Raw for new camera types.
And guess what: It’s the camera producers who seem to like to change their raws – so how about spreading some of your indignation their way?
I paid a lot of  money for CS4 and don't want to buy CS5 just because I bought a new  camera
The upgrade is cheaper than buying the full version.
Anyway, you could try the free DNG Converter which should be able to handle everything the most recent version of Camera Raw can handle.

  • Photoshop won't open Raw images with my new Camera Canon 6D help! I use Photoshop CS5 extended version.

    Hello,
I got a new camera and Photoshop and Lightroom won't open Raw images with my new Camera Canon 6D help! I use Photoshop CS5 extended version. and Lightroom 3

    Good news and bad news:
The bad news is that you need CS6 or higher to open 6D RAWs. (The 6D didn't get support until Camera Raw 7.3; 7.0 premiered in CS6.) You can choose to upgrade (I'd recommend skipping CS6 and go straight for CC 2014 for $10/month) *OR*...
...the good news is that the DNG Converter can help you convert your RAWs into DNGs for use in CS5 and Lightroom 3.

  • Updates for new camera (Nikon D610 )?

I am likely going to purchase the new Nikon D610 sometime this week but have read on several forums and blogs that Adobe has not released an update for CS6 yet to read the RAW files for this camera.  I typically shoot in RAW.  If I make this expensive purchase how long will I have to wait before Adobe puts out an update that will allow these files to be converted to .DNG so I can download them?  I am concerned about not being able to use the images right away and how long I would have to wait.  TIA

Anyone who knows the internal workings of Adobe is legally bound by a non-disclosure agreement, not to say anything very specific, so no one can tell you when, with any precision.  Adobe is a publically traded company with more than a billion-dollar market cap so if someone gave an official expectation and that expectation was unfulfilled then many people might sell Adobe stock and the market capitalization would plummet.
However, last week, Eric Chan, a lead scientist on the Adobe Camera Raw team said “Soon” in reference to requests for D610 support.
I interpret that to mean that the LR 5.3 Release Candidate (public beta) is due out any day or few weeks, now, and it’ll have some sort of D610 support in it.  I’d expect the final release of LR 5.3 to be out a week or two from the end of the year.
Keep your eye on http://labs.adobe.com/ because there is where the LR 5.3 RC will be available.
Yesterday, I did see a response to a bug report about the crop-ratio not holding (at least when it was 1:1), that the team was investigating this behavior.  If someone decides that they want to fix this, also, in the RC, then it might be delayed, somewhat.  If they don’t put the fix in the RC then it’ll be out sooner, depending on what other important cameras might have just been released and need profiled.

  • RAW support for new camera in Bridge CS3

    Hi all
I have PS Elements 6 on a Mac and have updated to ACR 5.2 which allows Elements to open the RAW files from my new Panasonic G1 camera. However, I have to do this direct from Elements as I get the message in Bridge that 'this version of Bridge does not support this file'.
Am I correct, therefore, in thinking I need the CS4 version of Bridge. If so, is there any way of getting this without buying the full version of Photoshop?
    Thanks
    John

Here are the instructions from the downloads page:
To install with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6: NOTE: You must follow all of the new instructions in order to successfully install the Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop Elements.
    1. Exit Photoshop Elements and Adobe Bridge.
    2. Open the download file and double-click CameraProfiles.dmg and follow the onscreen instructions.
    3. Navigate to the root of the local disk (not the user's home folder).
    4. Navigate to:
    (Please read directory carefully)
    Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS3/File Formats
    5. Move the existing plug-in to another location (for example, a new folder on your desktop). Ensure you keep this version in case you need to revert back.
    6. Copy the Camera Raw plug-in,
Camera Raw, from the download into the same folder as in Step 4.
    7. Launch Photoshop Elements or Adobe Bridge.

Our app has been thoughraly QA'd and developed according to the Apple standards and recommmendations. Thank you.

When i uploaded my application it took around 12 working days, If there is any problem in the app, apple team will send you the error to the mail.

  • Why won't the raw files from my new Nikon D810 open in ACR?

I just shot a newborn session on my brand new Nikon D810 and my RAW files will not open in ACR or CC or PSE. Everything is up to date. This is my first time using the new camera and the photos are for a paying client. Am I screwed until the new ACR updates are released? Or is there some magic fix until then? I'm panicking!

Every new camera comes with its own specific Raw file format and Adobe must add support to Camera Raw for each individual camera released on the market. There's often a time lag between the camera shipping and Raw support being added to Camera Raw.
Lots of D810s are now in circulation (dozens of D810 Raw support requests have popped up in these forums recently) and Raw support from Adobe is imminent but not yet final.
D810 support has just been added to the yet-to-be-released Camera Raw 8.6.
Adobe has made the Release Candidate version (a kind of post-beta, pre release) available for further testing prior to final release.
Download Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw 8.6 Beta - Adobe Labs
Install manually but use at your own risk until final release.

  • 8.3 Is Not Just for New Camera Support

I read all through the gumph when DPReview announced that ACR8.3 was available, and decided not to bother because it only seemed to support some new camera models.  But just seen a post in John Nack's blog that suggests there's a bit more to it.  So in case I was not the only person missing out...
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2013/11/camera-8-3-rc-for-photoshop-cc-cs6-available-on-adobe -labs.html
    or
Camera 8.3 RC for Photoshop CC & CS6 available on Adobe Labs
Camera Raw 8.3 is now available as a release candidate on Adobe Labs for Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC on Adobe Labs. For both versions it includes the new camera support mentioned below, and for Photoshop CC includes the following new features:
Whites and Blacks now support Auto Levels-like functionality via shift-double-click on the sliders.
Separate Auto Temperature and Auto Tint feature. Shift-double-click to invoke “auto temperature” and “auto tint” separately.
Ability to option-click shortcut in Synchronize, New Preset, Save Settings, and Copy/Paste (Bridge) dialog boxes. Option-click a checkbox to check that box exclusively. Option-click again to toggle previous checkbox state.
Set the background color of the work area. Context-click outside the image in the work area to select a background color from a popup menu.

I thought I started this thread in the Photoshop forum, but I guess it might have been moved.  Just my mind set, because I never browse this forum.  The thing is I had people like JJ in mind who I am not sure if he will continute with the CC trial, and may just use CS6, but I hadn't thought about the extra features being for CC only.

  • DNG Converter support for New Camera

What is the approximate usual time from the release date of a new camera
(specifically the Sony DSC RX100) and support for the camera by ACR or
    DNG Converter ?

ACR and the Adobe DNG Converter are updated in an orderly fashion from three to four times a year.  So you'll see a new version every three to four months.
The release of any new camera model has no bearing on this.

  • I have updated my PSE9 and still can not open the RAW files from my new camera, I get an error?

I bought a new camera (Canon T5i) and took photos in RAW, tried to open them in PSE9 and they wouldn't open. I got the following error...
Canon RAW Codec found a new CR2 file that is not supported by the installed version.
You can download the Canon RAW Codec update program from the link below.
    (Canon Server)
I have been to the link & downloaded what update it had. I have also done the available updates on my PSE9 and I am still getting this error messge. When I called Canon regarding this they said I needed to contact Adobe.
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong or not doing so I can open these files???

The T5 is supported by Camera RAW 8.4 which needs PSE12. You can use the Canon software to convert RAW to TIF or the Adobe DNG Converter. The converter will convert the CR2 files to Adobes RAW DNG format that will open in PSE9's RAW processor. http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html#downloads.

  • Need for new Camera?

I currently have a Sony Digital Handycam (DCR-TRV140) that i like, and has worked well for what i've wanted (home movies, etc). However, the camera is 6 years old and i'm wondering how outdated the technology is and if i should get a new camera? We're expecting more video opportunities and wonder if we should upgrade our camera?
any help or recommendations is appreciated.

I vote for waiting (unless you have a pressing need).
Sooner or later, HD will take hold. Right now you have HDV whose future may be in question because of AVCHD. Now AVCHD on paper is superior, but HDV has had time to mature and tends to be easier to work with right now than AVCHD. This will change probably sooner rather than later. And, as time goes, the price of flash media that AVCHD records to will continue to fall; or rather the price remains the same but capacity increases! And another reason for holding off for now is that AVCHD requires a LOT of horsepower to play around with.

  • Why can I not use LR4 with my new camera raw format?

My new camera raw format is unrecognizable with LR4. Anyway around this?

Yes use the Adobe DNG converter to convert the proprietary raw files to DNG raw files. Then LR4 will be able to read them.
    The Adobe converter is free.
