Why not convert to MS DV AVI type2 before import? Use Google to find a suitable converter.

Why can't I import my Canon 5D raw files ?

I've tried to do the last RAW format update, but it's not working... Can you help me ???I just went through this and found a solution for you, although I admit it is far from ideal. I had to rip a CD with the wal-mart .wma songs on it and rip that cd using itunes or similar into MP3 format. When I tried to convert using iTunes straight to .mp3 the license agreement stopped me. When I purchased the wal-mart music I think all they offered was the .wma format. Now they only offer .mp3. I emailed them and asked if they would re-issue the music I'd already purchased in the new format they responded they couldn't do that and that I'd have to repurchase and download in the new format. This solution will take longer and you need to re-type the song name, artist and album but it was the only solution to re-acquire my music downloads from wal mart. Because of this I'm now using another music provider.

How can some CD's import Ok and some import and have no sound?
I have been importing songs from CD's - some import correctly and play perfectly. Some CD's import, but they are only a few Kbs and there is no sound when they play back. Does anybody know why this is happening? It's driving me up the wall! Help!

however it sounds as if you've uninstalled the driver for your audio device. in order to fix this, go to the support section of your device's manufacturer and browse for drivers for your hardware model, download the audio drivers available and reinstall them. -
I want to delete photos from camera roll on my iPhone to clear space to install ios7 but after importing photos to iPhoto on my macbook pro only 4 out of 339 photos taken in September landed in events, though all 339 are in Sept photo stream. It seems like on previous uploads all photos "fell" into events according to the day they were taken, as well as into photostream. I want to make sure these photos stick around permanently and do not exist only in photo stream where I imagine they will eventually be bumped from my computer (photostream). Can anyone explain why some of my photos are landing in events and others are appearing only in photo stream?
You have uploaded two different things - pHotos are in one and only one event - if you have the same photo in two different events then you have imported it twice

It sound to me like you have no problem except you imported some photos twice adn you may not understand how the automatic import form PS works - but that is not clear
you can choose to have all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically downloaded. In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, to select Photo Stream > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will be imported into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture.
The event they are imported into is MMMM YYYY PS
If you import via iTunes sync or by connecting your IOS device via USB then they are importeed into the regular event structrue as defined in your iphoto preferences - and if you imoport via two or more different methods you will ahe duplicates

Why I can't import the sidecar.xml anymore?
For more than 1 year I used sidecar.xml generator for write the titles of the articles and the export/import in every different size of each issue of my magazine. To import I chose "import multiple articles" and chose the sidecar.xml folder.
Now with the latest update this seem don't work anymore and it's a HUGE problem for me and I think for many others. I read about this new path-based sidecar.xml files but I don't need it, I want to use the old way to import my xml that worked fine.

I did some work as the metrosur provided on the top:
• Write the titles in the xml files (manually or using sidecar generator)
• Copy the xml file (without folder) in the main folder with all other indesign folders
• Upload all directly to Adobe servers
But there was a new issue happened that can’t order article automatically

Thanks, your comments looked correct but did not solve my problem. You may be interested to know after much testing and research, I was able to ascertain that some of the camera's AVCHD settings iMovie cannot see at all (only some, which made it even harder to figure out!). Plus, if you have recorded movie clips in more than one format to the memory card (MP4 or any one of the AVCHD's), iMovie cannot see any of the AVCHD's.
Bottom line - forgo the benefits of AVCHD on the Sony NEX-5N and just use MP4 until Apple makes it easier. -
Why can't I import CR2(raw) images
I just purchased Adobe PS Elements 8 to replace my 5.0. I was able to import pictures from my Canon Rebel xsi 450, via usb wire, except the CR2(raw) images. Once the import gets to these I get a pop up that states "Elements Organizer cannot obtain files from this device. Please ensure the device is connected properly, or that the battery is charged, and try again." My battery is fully charged and I disconnected and reconnected 2 x's. Why can't I import these photos?
My mistake, I was in a rush when I posted it. I ran some tests, and think I answered my own question:
It's a Canon T2i... Yes, I know I need Camera Raw 5.7. But when I try to install the RC of 5.7, I just get a message that it cannot be installed, please click quit (perhaps it only works with Photoshop cs4, not Elements 8?). So, as a test I loaded 5.6 (for Elements), and then tried to open a 7D cr2 file (which should be supported). It works fine... So, I'm wondering if I need to load a whole new version 5.7 to load the T2i files or if I can just load the 8Bi file from the new version? I'm not sure where that file would be in the install package. I have a feeling I'll just have to wait for the full version of 5.7 to come out...

Why won't FCPX import .mts files?
I love shooting 1920x1080/50p, but FCPX will not recognise the files. Both Panasonic and Sony use this framerate now butto get work into FCPX I have to shoot at 50i. I know I can convert using clipwire and the like, but why should I have to go to that trouble?

used two different formatted SD cards shot 2 clips on 50p and on second formatted card two clips on 50i. FCPX could not import the 50p from the camera, it just would not launch it. It would load the 50i with no problem see screen grab - both are .mts files.
When I downloaded both sets of clips to the hard drive and then pressed import FCPX would not rimport either, se screen shot.
Most new sub £3000 cameras are now being launched with this AVCHD recording setting as it's top setting ie 1920x1080/50P why can't I import it into FCPX I really need this facility or use a different software. -

It's difficult to be sure without doing some network packet sniffing, but if it were another app syncing, it would be an awful coincidence, since it seems to happen only while I'm in Reminders.app -- as soon as I click the home button and go back to the home screen, it stops; when I launch Reminders again, it starts again.
Moreover, it happens when I am not in the house, which rules out iTunes syncing.
Note that it's not the syncing spinner (i.e. two arrows chasing each other in a circle) -- it's the data access spinner (like the wait spinner in many apps and the apple.com search box). -

Why do I have a problem with the FeatureD News Widget not showing all my photos? I have tried redoing it many times over in different formats and all but one photo never shows up in the final export. Please I need help to finish up the website.
If I understand this correctly, you are reporting that you have images in your Featured News' target frames and some of those photos do not show up in the published site.
If so, I would like you to confirm if the widget works fine in Preview within Muse? Are the images missing in all browsers, even after clearing the browser cache? Can you provide a link to a published site? If required I may also request your source Muse file to investigate further.

I have a ton of documents and databases in AppleWorks v 6.0 that I can no longer open on my MacBook Pro. Is there any way to recover this info? Some documents can be opened and resaved with textedit, but not my database with all important addresses.
I tried Peggy's List > Select All > Copy > Paste into an AW spreadsheet suggestion.
In my case, pasting into the spreadsheet lost all text formatting (mostly text set to bold). The results of formulas were pasted, and checkboxes were pasted as "on" or "off". The DB did not contain any pop-up menus or radio buttons, but I expect they would transfer as a number showing the list position of the chosen item.
Pasting the copied List view data into a Numbers table gave a result similar to that with AppleWorks. I selected B2 as the target cell (for top left cell of the pasted data) to avoid any effects of posting into a header row or column. Bold and regular text formatting looked the same as it had in AW's List view.
Based on that, I'd slip the 'paste into an AppleWorks Spreadsheet step, and paste directly into a Numbers Table.

Is there some way to import image files directly into an open document?
Is there some way of importing a series of image files, say jpegs, directly into an open document, rather than having to open all the image files and having to drag and drop each individual one into the open document? Specifically, I'm a dentist and I often get digital xray images emailed to me from other offices. But they come as 16 or 18 individual image files and I have to put them into a virtual "xray mount", so I can view them all at once, rather than having to open all the images and toggle among them. So I open a blank document in PS (CS4), then I navigate to the folder containing all the image files I received, select all of them and open them all. Back in PS, I now have to select each image tab and drag the image into the blank "mount" and close the image. That new image then becomes its own layer in the "mount" document. But I have to repeat this 18 times for each patient! I was thinking if there was a way to open the new "mount" document then select all the image files and somehow "import" all the image files directly into document - essentially "automate" the process - that'd save me BOATLOADS of time and aggravation! Anyone out there have any suggestions? Thanks alot!! Dr. G.
Thanks, Curt! When u say "animate" do u mean File | Automate...? Inside Automate, I can't find "Make Frames from Layers"...if you do mean "Animate" I can't find that menu. Zeno replied with a BRILLIANT clarification:

I tried that and it works like a charm! I select all 20 layers in the new document that "stacking" creates and just drag them all onto the virtual "mount" document. That's it! Then I just move each of these layers around as I would otherwise...it's just 1 click and 1 drag/drop. Unless someone comes up with a way to actually "import" all the images directly into the "mount" document, I think this appears to be the most efficient route to follow.
I really appreciate your guys' assistance! It's so great that you guys monitor the forum and help us out with our Photoshop problems! What an awesome program it is, right?
