Why Soo Ma

Question

why is creative releasing soo many mp3 players?
on the flash side we got the muvo, muvo micro, muvo tx fm in 28, 256, 52, and gig capacities
Why not just make the muvo micro n200 in those capacities and make that the end of it's I mean that player is the best flash player out there, line-in, great sound, smaller than a pack of gum, weighs les than an ounce, data storage, plays WMA, what more can you ask?
then there are the "zen micros" which I gotta say are a waste, why spend 200 bucks for only 5 gigs when you can put 30 bucks more and get a 20 gig zen touch? kinda like a waste of money.
then there are the Zen, Zen NX, Zen Xtra, Zen jukebox, Zen Touch, and now they're comin out with a "Zen Sleek" so the only thing goin thru my head is WTF? Just make the zen sleek, and call it a day!

I agree. from the beggining of the zen line to the zeeon and Sleek. its all the same with nothing much new.
Just imagine the hours upon hours spent designing each one of those players. from the technical, to the form, production, to the marketing. etc. thats alot of money and man hours.
This is just my opinion. i'm no expert. but what i think creative needs to do is create Solid State player. give it a color screen. maybe a FM. and alot of accessories. then.. instead of just starting over and creating something else like there doing now. just create a newer version of it. sorta like what apple and iri'ver do. its a great way to get customers. and keep customers. all the accessories will work with all the versions. firmware could mostly be uni'versal. From what i can tell, and have researched. this kind of product creation is more cost effecti've and will be more profitable.
For example. with apple. people who buy a 3rd gen iPod and like it. will most likely buy a 4th gen when they upgrade. with creative players its not like that. you buy your touch. then the next thing is something new. apple locks in customers. they dont go "oh, but i like the player i have now, i don't know if i will like this new player" with apple and iri'ver all the players are the same. just newer and better versions. people are used to and trust the previous versions and are more likely to upgrade. with creative people don't want to have to buy a totaly different player when they upgrade.
And the software. ugh. a new program for almost every player. stick with one program and make it good. sorta like iTunes is doing.

Ok, don't get me wrong. i'm a creative fan since back with my old creative nomad. But lately things are starting to scare me. i've been looking at other companys more and more lately. i feel that creative needs to pull something big out in order to keep there fans. and create new ones.
That is only one mands opinion.
