Why telnet is not secured and why SSh is secured?

telnet is in the clear while ssh is not. In other words, the information travel over the wire can be seen in clear text by the intruder without having to deciper the data. Not so with SSH.
Similar argument can be made with http and http(s).

Why do colors come over as Color Book swatches when I copy and paste to a new document? Original document has CMYK spot color swatches. I copy them and paste them in new document and it gets converted to a Color Book swatch. Why?

Check the spot color options of that document.
It's in the swatches panel's menu.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
Netflix uses adaptive streaming and can reduce quality right down to produce a stream as low as 0.5 Mbps.

Oracle Service Bus - Unix authorization over telnet

Hi all,
I'm completely new to Oracle's Service Bus. The problem I'm facing is that OSB 11g is to be used in a rather specific environment meaning - OSB needs to send CSV formatted messages over telnet to a Legacy System. Before that the connection must be authorized with a Unix login and password. As login/pass authorization is fairly simple with such transports as FTP or HTTP I came up with two solutions:
developing a new socket transport with an appropriate authorization procedure (ie. using http://sadun-util.sourceforge.net/) basing on sample-transport that comes with the OSB installation
JMS using JCA socket adapter and Java Callout with an authorization method in request pipeline - is the one valid?
My question is what is the best way to resolve the problem? Is there any preferred way of dealing with such problems?

Well, the information you also need a response (and not only one-way file transport) is new to me and it changes a lot. I agree that in this case ftp is not a good choice.
I recommended java callout because I follow the idea that obscure solutions should be handled quickly and easily so one can focus on clean solution later rather than expensive and still inaccurate solution now. However, if you think your legacy system will live with you for years, than you can try custom transport instead. It will be more comfortable to work with and that's important for long-term solutions.
If you decide to try java callout option, than you don't have to care about custom transport implementation at all. You can create custom Java class using for example telnet client from http://sadun-util.sourceforge.net/ (as you suggested) and that's all. One simple JAR with your client (static java method) called from your proxy flow. You can even use service account with your java callout through fn-bea:lookupBasicCredentials:

I've never tried that, but I think that with custom transport provider you can have a better support for using service account (without that xpath function).

Java doesn't allow direct access to memory like C/C++. Memory access violations are the root cause of 90% (approx, maybe more) of all software bugs/problems. This is also the root cause of many viruses, etc. But there are many more reasons why Java is secure. Read up on Java and security and stuff...

Why does Adobe take over Part 2: I attempted to use http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/application-file-icons-change-acrobat.html and on download got a box that said, Quitting Raise without Handler!
Oh, and I had to uninstall the whole thing anyway just to be able to get to the Internet. Any Adobe icon I hit tells me that there is nothing attached to it.

Why is it taking over 4hrs to download "the Best of War" by War?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Security over journals and opening/closing periods

I am in the process of implementing HFM and I am trying to work through security over the Admin role. I want to provide the administrator role the ability to open and close periods but I am hearing that in order to do this, I have to give them "Journals Administrator". I do not want to do this because that means I need to provide them the ability to create and approve journals, which is something I do not want at all. Any suggestions?

If the journal administrator has read only rights to the metadata classes, they conceivable could create journals but would never be able to post them. You have to consider the role security in conjunction with their class security to get the access combination you seek.
