After Diginotar hacked by a person Mozilla said that we should delete Diginotar root CA certificate in v.6 but in v.7 it still exist. why?

You can click the Edit button on the DigiNotar certificates to verify that all trust bits are unchecked.<br />
That will make it impossible for them to be used as root certificates.
Select a DigiNotar certificate in the Certificate Manager.
* Click the Edit button to verify that all trust bits are unchecked
* Click the View button and go to Details to verify that the certificate has been deactivated (Explicitly Distrust DigiNotar Root CA)

Diginotar certificate present in on version 9.01 on Mac Os

I am using a Mac running 10.6.8 and firefox 9.01 and Firefox still has the diginotar certificate under preference >advance>encryption>view certificate. It shows Diginotar main and underneath 4 diginotar including the digitnotar CA which I cannot remove. According to what I have read this should of been removed in version 6? Can anyone explain?

Why this Verisign certificate is not automatically recognized ?

We used java and JSSE to acces an https URL, with a 64 bit certificate, it's ok.
We try to use the new certificate 128 bit, it's KO.
We need to declare this new certificate with keytool in a keystore, and to add in the java program the reference to the keystore file.
Is it normal, why this new certificate is not automatically recognized in the cacerts ?

we had the some problem.
The new certificate is Class 3 Version 3, but in the cacerts file is present only the Version 1.
The first solution was been to include our certificate in cacerts file and redistribute the cacert file to our clients (or click always in the alert pop-up). ORRIBLE!
The finally solution (i hope) is to set up correctly the web-server.
We have Apache 1.3.27 + mod-ssl. The installation of certificates has involved the only authenticated certificate file and private key. By the way there's another file that is not in use by default: the intermediate.crt file (in httpd.conf is indicated by tag SSLCACertificateFile). The intermediate.crt is distribuited by Verisign and it must be installed to solve the problem.
The difference is visible in Mozilla browser too.

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

You need to install that intermediate certificate on your server.

Why still use DV when we have HD formats nowadays?

Hi guys,
Coming new to the video scene, I have a question about why we still need to bother with DV when the world is going HD these days?
Is it because of the "install base" of a lot of NTSC/PAL equipment (including cameras, edit stations and televisions) that still need the DV format in the broadcast studio workflow?
I am asking because increasingly it seems the acquisition equipment is HD (both consumer and pro) and playback is HD with more HDTVs in people's homes. And Blu-Ray coming out as a delivery format.
And for everything else, including iPods, computers, Web, etc. it's just a matter of converting HD into another size for end user delivery.

I agree with cgbier's comments and would like to add my two cents. I work in television somewhere around market 50. An indie filmmaker or one-man production house might be able to upgrade to HD for under, say, 9 or 10K - probably less. A good-size news television station has upwards of 20-25 production cameras, at least twice as many media decks, and probably more than a few out-of-date NLE's that would have to be completely replaced. And all of those things are secondary to the more pressing issues of replacing your transmitter, routers, studio cameras, etc to meet the FCC's digital deadline next year. The costs become staggering when a corporate owner has to consider these purchases for the 15+ stations they may own. I see a lot of smaller stations simply upconverting their existing SD output for a while.
On the personal side, I just purchased an HDV camera and a new iMac; upgrading my gear for my freelance work. I was using Final Cut Pro 4.5 but was forced to buy FCExpress when I found out that the hardware of the new iMacs wouldn't support FCP 4.5. So there goes the $1200 I spent on FCP and after buying the camera ad computer I couldn't afford FCP Studio. Then I discover that FCExpress doesn't support deck control for HDV cameras. I hope someone can appreciate my frustrations.
I have a few other friends that have had similar frustrations trying to adopt HDV or worse, AVCHD, and become cynical about jumping on the HD bandwagon, pouring more money into it than they had hoped to.

Why won't my existing projects open after I sign in?

I just purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 12 about two weeks ago. I started two projects since and everything was fine up until four days ago when the server went down for a day or two. Now when I try opening up my existing projects, I sign in, but nothing happens after the window that validates my serial number closes. Why is this happening?

I am using the following code to split the text into words but the words containing "trees," still exist in the words that are obtained as output. Is there a way by which I could get rid of ,,;,:, &, !, in the text using the same line of code as given below or shoudl I be doing something more.

I understood that afer braking his text(on the whitespaces as shown in his code) he gets words with unwanted characters(As and example he used the string "trees," [the word tree with a trailling coma] but I think it could be any string with punctuation) in his resulting set of words.

I think it is clear that he wants get rid of punctuation, altough I am not certain if he wanted just the sampled ones to get removed or if he meant all punctuation bu could not remember or thought it was not necessary to examplify all of them.
I would agree that his text is badly worded and has a very bad composition, bu I cannot blame him for that, I think mine english must be very bad for those native speaking english on the forum and many times I have to rewrite sentences because some words I simply don't know and I find it very hard to truly show what I am thinking (this sentence is an example for 2 times I had to stop and refrase for I could not find a good word in english to show what I meant to say).
And even as I re-read it I can see that the meaning is lacking, but I do not have enough vocabulary to any better.
So I always put and effort to understand what is writen or at least gues what is written.

Why still a 1.5Mbps max for iPods?

Apple raised the maximum bitrate for H.264 content on iPods to 2.5Mbps a while ago. So why does the iPod setting in Compressor still max out at 1.5Mbps for 640x480 content? I would like to use Compressor due to frame controls, which are second to none as a deinterlacing algorithm. However, the actual compression quality of Apple's H.264 is sadly inferior to free alternatives. These free alternatives have middling deinterlacing options, though. I'd like to raise the bitrate to 2Mbps when formatting video for iPods to offset the quality difference, but I can't do that because Apple, even though they advertise the higher bitrates in their iPod/iPhone specs, will not allow it at all. it's endlessly frustrating for professional software like Compressor to be so dang static on options. I also have very, very limited control over the AAC bitrate and other functions. Attempting to format as a Quicktime H.264 or AppleTV H.264 results in a file that apparently does not conform to Apple's specifications. They will not play on iPods. If I could find some software with deinterlacing quality reasonably close to Compressor's, I would jump ship in a heartbeat.

Well, I stand corrected. I tried transcoding to DV to preserve quality and used the better deinterlacing in frame controls. It looked great...until high motion scenes. Then you literally get blocks of space that show visible interlacing. Literally random squares in an otherwise good looking scene.
There is utterly no excuse for this garbage, Apple. I thought I had found a middle ground by transcoding to DV with frame controls for minimal quality loss, then going to another program for the H.264 compression. You disappoint yet again. This is supposed to be professional grade software that costs a bundle. How in the BLAZES do bugs like this not only get through, but fail to be remedied after several patches??

Why does ca-certificates include only mozzila certificates?

I was missing spi-inc certificate and figured out that ca-certificates package deliberately builds only mozilla subdir from upstream source (which is http://packages.qa.debian.org/c/ca-certificates.html).
As of pkgver = 20140325 (https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit … beaae68df7), upstream Makefile refers by default to 2 subdirs: mozilla, and spi-inc.org.
Does anybody know why we're specific about including only mozilla certificates?
