Why still shows the old version after the upgrade?

Hello I have a bit of problem here. I actually upgraded my JDK to 1.5 quite a while ago, but now when I run in the command line:
D:\xmltree>java -version
java version "1.4.2_03"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_03-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_03-b02, mixed mode)Now the application need to run in the command line using 'java MainClass' requires JDK 1.5...I have it on my pc but how to reflect the newer version to the command line?Thanks

Sorry I am afraid that I could not help you further (sounds like I had helped you somehow...*wink* ;-). The other thought is that there are different tiers of admins; if you are not the highest one, or he/she does not allocate you the PATH modification privilege, you may still not do that. You may wish to consult with the guy at the highest level, or who set up your account if you did not do it for yourself, if you are not him. Sorry for not being helpful at all and good luck.

We don't overwrite your apps so you can keep previous workflows.
Delete apps you don't want when you are ready.

Changed a webpage with new photos and text, uploaded it to FTP. But when I visit the website, the old version of the page is there instead of the new page.

I changed one of my webpages, adding pictures with hyperlinks and text. When I preview the website and webpage the changes appear. I upload it with Muse's FTP uploader and everything goes smoothly. But when I visit the website, it displays the old version of the webpage.

Yes, I use a third party FTP client. I have cleared browser history and cache. Still shows up. I even DELETED the entire site and re-uploaded the new one with the same results. What am I missing? Why does the old page keep showing up? Tried 3 different browser apps and a different computer.

You may try to restart the Creative Cloud application by quitting and relaunching it.

Why does Photoshop Elements not remove the old version after installing an upgrade?

When I install a new version of Photoshop Elements, it converts the old catalog but does not remove the old programs. I just installed PS 11 over PS 10 and it did not remove it. I have had the same problem with each upgrade. I have to manually uninstall the old version.

Uninstalling the older version post an upgrade might be discomforting to many users, so...
Catalog conversion works fine irrespective of whether you uninstall or do not uninstall the older version since the catalog folders are not touched during uninstall.

Safari.1.1lion when i open a new window it opens as the old version without the reading list button or the download button why is that ?

so i downloaded the new safari version safari.1.1lion and i installed it and i love it but when i open a new window or i close safari and open it again it opens like the old version (the safari leopard ) it doesnt have the doenload button or the reading list button . it only opens as the new version if i restart the computer why is that.

I did find the problem... It was the DivX Plugin for Firefox. I just found I wasn't using it. I went to Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled it. FYI I am running Windows 7.

you should starting with copying the iTunes folder from your old laptop to the new one.
the iTunes folder is in your user profile Music folder.
it should go to the same location on the new laptop.
Provided that you have your media, music and movies in the default location, and you sign in to your apple ID and authorize your new computer (all in iTunes)
you should have all intact.
Post if any problems.

JWS shortcut launching the old version of the application

A shortcut was created for a previous version of our application.
Then a new version was installed in the server. When the client used the
shortcut to launch the application, it still pointed to the old version.

If I download a new version of Firefox and delete the old one, will my bookmarks be saved? Should I simply put the old version in the trash?

1. Download full installer from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
2. '''Trash''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
3. Install the version that you have downloaded.
Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox#Mac Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

N95-1 ,WHEN WILL THE NEXT VERSION AFTER THE V21.0....

If u all hav upgrade yr N95-1 to V21.0.016 & format yr Nokia 1GB micro sd card & start to use it fr fresh download of files ( without restore setting, bookmark & user files) , that is fine , phone system is fast & good...but...but if u hav bac up a copy of phone user files, setting & book mark & after upgrade ,u restore u will suffering system crash with yr restored data..., phone seem like forever cannot boot up & very very slow response ...now i am the victim , every time i off my phone, i hav to take out memory card only can start my N95-1 smoothly, then only i put in by way of "hotswap" into the memory card into the phone....this is crazy job !!! but i really don want to lose all my valuable & paid money to buy the mp3, mv, themes, wallpaper & other stuffs if i do not retore them....NOKIA, DON U NOTICE THIS BIG PROBLEM ? I also have an N95-1 with firmware v21.0.016, and the 8GB card in it has about 3GB of stuff on it.
Yes, it did take a while to boot and become responsive the first time I powered it up after the upgrade, but that was a once-off. Let it do its work and things will be okay.
Alternatively, you might have a faulty memory card.

A user uploads a new pdf (using Dreamweaver) but still gets the old version back in browser.

She downloads the file from the site, and gets the old version of the file instead of the one she just uploaded. I tried it myself and everything is done correctly: the new file is on the server but download keeps displaying the old version. Dreamweaver ticks off the bytes as they are going upstream. I can RDP to the server and see that the newer version is there (by datetime stamp). She is using IE 8 if relevant.
This only happens with pdf, no caching is turned on in IIS6 - all content updates are instant.
I have gone in to the temp internet files and deleted the cached version of the file and emptied the trash (Win XP) but it still serves the old version.
This issue has been reported by other users, but I thought it was user error until it was staring me in the face.
My final verification was to upload the new document with a new name, delete the old document, and rename the new name to the old name - after that it delivered the new document
How do I tell the (non-tech) user fix this?
I've seen references to this on other sites (now that I know it is real, I dug deeper) but the solutions proposed mostly seem to involve changing the query string by adding somthing to the end of it.
This is out of reach of my user.
I can't be the first person to encounter this right?
And note that I went into the server... the document was uploaded, and IIS caching is off.
I was told by someone here (and I can't reproduce it in my office) that I should tell the user to go to Adobe Reader | Edit | Preferences | Internet.
Then tell her to uncheck all three boxes (display in browser, allow fast, and allow speculative)
But I don't see how that would fix it - remember that I deleted the pdf from the internet cache and that didn't solve it.

I've faced this before too.
I've tried many different approaches but the most reliable way I've ever found of handling it is to rename the new PDF each time (e.g. adding the revision date into the filename) and update the link in the web page to point to the renamed PDF.
Works every time.
