Why SUN not providing VM for PDA (Pocket PC)

Why is SUN not providing VM for PDA (Pocket PC)??
We need to use third party VMs. and most of the Vms are not free.
Is there any VM for pocket PC which supports atleast J2SE 1.2??
Thanks in advance

Since there are so many different confiurations and profiles, coupled with the large number of PDA Operating Systems, sun dont bother making VM's for all of them and so leave it up to third parties to make them. Sun then verifys the VM's fulfil the micro edition virtual machine spec.
there are also political reasons; ie. sun dosent want to make life any easier for microsoft and so are damed if theyt are going to write a VM for windows CE/XP eMbedded. If they ever do support any particular platform its probobly gonna be Palm.
Here's a list of VM's along with technical specs.

  • PS does not Provide WSDL for RTNGTYPE Synchronous Non Blocking

    Hi,
    This particular field has 5 Translate values. Of which PS does not provide an example/entry for RTNGTYPE Synchronous Non Blocking Routing in either FSCM or CRM Demo Database.
    Would like to know, if some one has created a Routing Type of Synchronous Non Blocking and implemented that.
    The reason being, that for Service Ops with the RTNGTYPE as Synchronous Non Blocking, PS does not allow us to generate WSDLs...Also, Not sure how to create a Sync Non Blocking Routing for a Sv Op in PS...
    Any help is appreciated...
    Thanks

  • ToString method why its not called implicitly for objects

    class Building { }
    public class Example
    public static void main()
    Building b = new Building();
    String s = (String)b;
    in the 5th Line it shows error that cannot cast building type to string..
    but all classes have the toString method which is called whenever we give the object arguement in System.out.println();
    the following code compiles
    class Building { }
    class Example
    public static void main()
    Building b = new Building();
    System.out.println(b);
    can anyone explain this?

    I get your point about casting.
    but in the println statement when u pass the building object it calls the toString method and generates a new string object
    why does not it do the same in the below code.
    String s = b;// b is a building object
    is the tostring method implicitly called only in println where it expects a string?

  • Why Apple not providing iPhone 3g any iOS update.......?

    I am using iPhone 3g and i bought it in early 2009 and i couldn't bear the pain when iPhone 3gs was launched in next 2 months or so....
    And now i am using my phone and find updates only for iPhone 3Gs and 4
    This really hurts..
    So, my suggestion to you is to introduce the next update which is iOS 5 for iPhone 3G
    Thank you....:(

    Not going to happen. The 3GS and iPhone 4 include a faster processor and more RAM than the iPhone 3G.
    I don't recall the minimum system requirements provided for a major OS X update on a Mac or for a major iOS update for the iPhone not yet released being changed after being provided before or after the major update is released.
    If you want iOS 5, you will need an iPhone 3GS, an iPhone 4, or the next iPhone model when released.

  • DHCP not providing IP's to stations!

    Hi, im trying to figure this out for days but cant make it work!
    i've set up a MacOSX Server 10.5, its working fine for print and file sharing, i wanted it alos to control the IP address for all the computers connected to same network so in near future i start using Open Directory, and i dont want to provide manual IP's.
    in OSX Server Admin Application, i set the DHCP providing it with starting ip's, end ip's, mask, router, dns, and in System Preferences/Network/Ethernet i also set same IP for the server, same mask, router, dns as set in DHCP, start the DHCP i see nothing changes in computer client, they keep generating the Bonjour IP's, or if i put a normal router in the network they immidiatly get the IP's from the router, so why from the Router and not from OSX Server?
    in the Admin page of DHCP seetings, in Log, it says that machine (with MAC addresses) trying to obtain DHCP address.. if it knows theres a computer trying to get its IP from the server, why its not providing it??
    and if i have a router and a server in same network, how do i make computers get the ip's from the server and not from router?
    is there a step by step manual out there to "correctly" configure DHCP? and then Open Directory?
    i've manage to run DNS correctly, cuz i tested pinging to both ip and server name and both gave correct results...
    Thanks

    You may have already done this, but it isn't clear from the post, so it's worth checking...
    i also set same IP for the server, same mask, router, dns as set in DHCP
    I assume that you mean you set a different IP address, right?
    You cannot set your server to have a static IP address that's within the DHCP range.
    For example, if you're using 192.168.1.x/255.255.255.0 as your network/subnet mask then you might have your router at 192.168.1.1 and your server at .2. You could then define the DHCP range as something like 192.168.1.101 - 192.168.1.200.
    That would give you 100 dynamic IP addresses in the subnet that do not conflict with manually-configured devices such as the router, server, etc.
    if i have a router and a server in same network, how do i make computers get the ip's from the server and not from router?
    You turn off the DHCP server in the router. While it is possible to have multiple DHCP servers in a subnet, it is vastly more complicated and not generally recommended.

  • Calculate result as average in the report not showing average for all

    Hello,
    I have a calculated key figure in the query where its result should show average. I have made a setting for this calculated key figure as:
    1. Calculations tab: Calculate result as "average" and calculate single value as "nothing defined"
    2. Aggreagation tab: exception aggregation: Total and reference char: []
    Now coming to report, BEX it showing correct average for all cells but when i run it in portal few values it is showing correct average but for few it is showing as blank. I exported this to excel then cell shows blank but cell has some values in the custom format and display values when i change the format to general from "format cells" option.
    Please help me in resolving the issue- why portal not showing value for all.
    Thanks,

  • IDoc type could not be determined for the IDoc in F110

    Dear All,
    The below mentioned error is encountered by us in F110.We have check all the setiing  and not able to find the solution for this error.
    Now our heads has gone for a toss....can anyone kindly suggest what and where we have missed out.
    The system is not creating the IDOC file.....
    IDoc type could not be determined for the IDoc
    Message no. B1090
    Diagnosis
    The IDoc passed to the ALE layer could not be processed. The specifications passed in the control record were not correct.
    The basic IDoc type (field EDIDC-IDOCTP on the outbound side or EDI_DC-IDOCTYP on the inbound side)has not been specified for this IDoc.
    The attempt to read the basic IDoc type from table EDIDO also failed. No table entry was found for IDoc type  from field DOCTYP.
    Procedure
    Possible error sources:
    - The calling program did not provide values for the fields specified above correctly. Make a note of the transaction in which this error occurred and consult your ALE administrator.
    - The IDoc type  is not known in your system and must be maintained.
    Kindly do the needful.
    Regards

    If you want to create IDocs from the proposal run, outbound parameters (we20) with the 'Test' flag are required in addition.
    see OSS note 504230 : Message EUPEXR forms the logical unit around the individual payment messages (PAYEXT IDocs). The E1IDRD1 segments contain the IDoc numbers of the payment messages in field DOCNUM. Segment E1IDRS1 contains check sums (total of all amounts, account numbers, bank numbers, number of payment messages). This information is provided for the EDI subsystem. Set up EUPEXR In Transaction WE20 for the partner profile for the house bank, create the outbound parameters for message type EUPEXR with IDoc type IDCREF01. If you want to create IDocs from the proposal run, outbound parameters with the 'Test' flag are required in addition.

  • Where to put my customized formatting that Control Hints does not provide?

    To whom that know or have experience with it:
    The control hints does not provide solutions for all possible formatting needs. For example, I need to display only last four digits of social security numbers (i.e., for "123-45-6789", display "***-**-6789"). Another data table column stores school semesters as YYYYMM, e.g., 200902, where 2009 is the year and 02 is the month that represents Spring (MM can also be 06 and 09 that represent Summer and Fall). I need to display the semester in a more user-friendly way (i.e., for "200902", display "Spring 2009"). Of course, I can not change data format in the table; I only seek to format the display of the data.
    I would think that it takes only a few lines of java code to do these formatting by splitting the string into sub-strings, replace some of them with appropriate new values, then re-assemble them. But where to put such code? Does any documentation cover this topic?
    Newman

    Shay,
    I read the document, tried it, and it worked out nicely.
    There is not the getAttributeName() method in the ViewObjectImpl class in version 10.1.3.4, which is the version I am using. But the EO class has it and it works out all the same.
    I don't know how long it would otherwise take me to read and fumble to find out where to put the custom formatting code. Your experience and familiarity with the technology really saved me a huge amount of time. Thank you so much for your help!

  • Why Apple does not provide for call block / blacklist function on iphone?

    If Apple frowns upon jailbreaking the iPhone, why not AT THE LEAST endorse and make available third-party application that can provide a decent call block / blacklist function (like the Call Blocker for BlackBerry)?
    Can an Apple representative provide feedback pls?
    [Most telcos do not provide call-screening as a value-add service. Even if they do, a more cost-effective method is still the better option.]

    Have you asked your service provider if they offer any call blocking service? I know here in the USA, AT&T does, although they do charge $4.99/month for the service (it is part of a parental control package that allows control of both numbers that can be blocked from calling you, and numbers that your iPhone can call to).
    On-phone black list apps typically work by using caller id info and looking it up against the apps own database of numbers you've entered. So your phone still rings at least once, as the phone needs to allow a brief connection for the app to get the caller id info before disconnecting a number flagged for blocking. There really is no way to truly block calls from the phone itself, you need your service provider to be on board with the idea, so they can dis-allow the call at the switch and truly block it from ever reaching your phone.

  • Why does Verizon not provide 3G coverage in Western Maryland (Garrett County) and why does it not have an agreement with US Cellular for such coverage?

    Why does Verizon not provide 3G coverage in Western Maryland (Garrett County) and why does it not have an agreement with US Cellular for such coverage?

        Thanks for the zip code pfekete. I looked into the coverage in your area and I do see you are in an extended 1X data coverage which explains why you're not connecting to 3G. What phone do you have? We may be able to advise you on how to adjust the settings so it picks up the strongest signal. I apologize for the inconvenience.

  • Why not use Jsp for  control in MVC2 ?

    hi
    i am rajendra , i am preparing interview FAQ, so please give me my Que. Ans.
    1) we are using servlet for control in MVC2 Module,then why we can not use
    Jsp for control in mvc2
    2) if we used jsp for control in mvc2 then what is disadvantage compare to if using servlet for control in mvc2
    Please give me ans. as soon as..
    Thanks.

    Are you preparing a FAQ for others or are you just cramming before an upcoming interview and someone gave you a set of questions? It looks more like the latter to me.
    If you haven't actually written any MVC based code, you won't be able to snow the interviewer. It's better to just relax, get a good night's sleep and impress them with your willingness to learn, your fit with the team and whatever real accomplishments you have to show.
    If you really want an answer to this I suggest that you try writing an MVC2 system using JSP for the controller, which is possible, and then try doing the same in a servlet, or better yet using a framework like Spring MVC or Struts to provide the servlet for you and let you concentrate on your application.
