Why SW update offering me the NVIDIA update....have ATI 3870

Anyone know why Software Update wants me to install the Apple NVIDIA Graphics Update 2009 1.0, when my Mac pro has an ATI Radeon HD 3870 card?

Most likely because the 7300 card is used in Mac Pros, so the firmware update is targeted for the computer to fix a problem with that video card.

Under About, what version do you have? The Software Update option in Settings was not introduced until iOS 5.0.

iPad: RAM - 256MB, Processor - 1 GHz Apple A4
iPad 2: RAM - 512MB, Processor - 1GHz dual-core Apple A5
iPad 3: RAM 1024MB, Processor - 1GHz dual-core Apple A5X
Similarily, the iPad 2 did not get Siri and some other features in iOS 6.

Why can't I install the latest update? There is an update available. I'm asked to agree to the terms. I do and nothing happens.

There are two common reasons why an iPad can't be updated to the latest version of the operating system.
The most common reason is storage space. You can try to free up space of your iPad.
The second most common reason is the original iPad. For example, for iPhone, only iPhone 4s and the later can upgrade to iOS 8 and the higher.

I recently updated my eMac from Panther (10.3.x) to Tiger and let it go ahead and update by downloading the 10.4.10 patch from Apple. It has been some weeks now and so far no issues to report. So it seems ok. And my eMac is a version before yours.

I tried to figure this out myself and couldn't believe there wasn't a simple menu item to get this done. Seems there was in pre-Mavericks but not in Mavericks. Found several answers but they all reply to before Mavercks.

That one suggests the installer has gotten damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

Why doesn't FF make the latest Update compatible with a Power PC G4?

I've got a Power PC G4 Mac, which apparently doesn't meet the System Requirements for the latest Update of Firefox: why not? In this Economy, I'm sure there are a lot of people like me still running Power PC's, yet now I can't even "suggest" to FF that they include us in the Update, because I "don't have the latest version"! I run my whole Office from my Mac, so it's still pretty darn good. What's with the disrespect?

You have 10 6 8 which is Snow Leopard... If you want 10 7 2 you will need to Purchase Lion from the Mac Apps Store.

Why is my Ipod MB531C not downloading current updates when these apps walways updated before. I have the latest update for my Ipod touch and this does not work now.

An MB531C is a 2G iPod. Those can only go as high as iOS 4.2.1. Many app update require iOS 4.3 or higher and thus you can't update/use /install those updated apps.
Otherwise please provide clearer/more information about your question/problem

It sounds like you actually have a 2G iPod Touch which can only go as high as iOS 4.2.1. If it's an 8 GB iPod Touch it's definitely a 2G iPod Touch as there was never such a thing as a 3G 8 GB iPod Touch. See this article to help verify what generation iPod Touch you have.
