Why the 10.4.6 update doesn't recognice my HD?

I'm trying to install this update and i get stuck on the "Select a Destination" window, where my HD is marked with the exclamation mark in the red dot thing. With a message "installling this software requires 183mb of space" (when my HD have 112GB free) . Why it doesn't recognice my HD?

Did you download the correct 10.4.6 Combo Update for your Mac - PPC or Intel and not the 10.4.6 Server Update?

Your touch has a 400MHz processor and 128MB RAM, the 2nd Gen has a 500MHz processor and 128MB RAM, the 3rd Gen touch has a 600MHz processor and 256MB RAM, and the 4th Gen touch has a 800MHz processor with 256MB RAM... Obviously yours cannot handle the new OS as it was designed primarily with the 3rd and 4th Gens in mind... It's like older computers cannot support newer OS (ie a computer built for windows xp cannot handle windows 7 and a computer built for panther cannot handle leopard.)

Inspector > Text > More > Language
Only applies to selected text, like making it a particular font.
It is not a setting that sticks. If you continue to paste in text from elsewhere particularly the Internet it will have a different or None language set to it. You need to select it and make it B.E.

The iOS 7.1 update doesn't fix the Wifi issue on iPhone 4S!

My wifi greyed out since iOS 7, the hair dryer did fix the problem for a day. But it greyed out again after a day, and now the 7.1 update doesn't fix that ****???

Have you followed the steps listed in iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim - Support - Apple?
If not, do so immediately. Also, try: iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device.
The software update is not the cause of the problem. It is possible, however, that your hardware (i.e., the wi-fi chip) had a hidden problem, probably with heat tolerance, and the heat generated from the iOS update (the processor creates more heat the harder it works) pushed it past its tolerance.

Sign out of Mobile Me, move your MM account to iCloud, by visiting http://me.com/migrate .
After that, launch the icloud system preference panel, in  -> System Settings and log in.

Why the itunes download a update when I try to restore, if my ipad is already updated?

When I try to restore, the ITunes search for update and ask to download the iOS 6.1.3 update of about 800mb, but my iPad is already 6.1.3. I can't restore because of this problem..

The question isn't whether your iPad was running 6.1.3 before the restore. The question is whether your computer has a copy of 6.1.3 to load onto the iPad. The restore is going to wipe out whatever was on the iPad, then load both iOS and your saved data.

i had a previous version of mozzilla firefox and i updated. since then, the feature of the real player doesn't work. propably isn't compatible. although, with my internet explorer it works. i went to the settings of the real player and the only explorer it shows is Internet Explorer. The Mozzilla Firefox doesn't appear. What can i do? I unistalled and reinstalled many times the real player but it isn't its problem. help me please!

What's the deal with FP update doesn't work!

What's up with Update FP player?

Definitely not PEBKAC. Using either Xcode or the ICU, and clearly the console logs of my device show that something odd is happenning. Roughly same time frame, about 3 weeks ago, I began to notice long delays and dropped iMessages. Odd, since the service had worked brilliantly up until recently.
Location: Vancouver
iPhone 4
3rd party router, set to Apples specifications for iOS devices.
The oddest thing is that it makes no difference if I turn on send by SMS or not... and it should.
Issue confirmed by associate in Toronto.
Conversations changing, rearranging, I'm told that messages did not go through, but screenshots from other party show they have recieved them... very puzzling.

My theory on why the 1.0.1 update won't work for some...

Ok, I've racked my brain and this is the only thing I could come up w/ because I'm following the instructions to a tee. I took a closer look @ the Firmware Update page and noticed this: "It now runs on localized systems that use languages that read right to left." Idk if this makes sense but could this update not be working because I did format right when I got my MBP and chose not to install the language files? The only one I kept was English which obviously isn't right to left. The people who are having the same issue as I, did you do a clean format of Tiger as well and leave out the language files? Sorry if this is a terrible guess

Nopes, I did a clean install of OSX the day I got my MBP, installed on English language, and have since updated to 10.4.6, Firmware 1.0 and Firmware 1.0.1. None of the installers gave me any problems. For the record, both firmwares brought my temperature down, but neither changed the whine/hiss at all.

Any reason why the PC version of CS6 doesn't open a save as document after saved like OSX?

I am running cs6 on both PC and Mac. On my pc if I save a Photoshop file on it as a save as, it does not open the file immediately. I have to close the original file, find the file then open it. Very time consuming and also confusing if you are working fast. On my Mac if i save a document in Photoshop, doing a save as, it saves the doc, and opens it right there and you just continue to work. Any ideas?

Maybe I wrote this wrong. Here goes again.
On a mac, when you save as (for reference lets call it documentA) so I am working on DocumentA and want to make an iteration, I save as DocumentB, on OSX, it saves it as DocumentB (which is now the open doc in the PShop window) and I just keep working. No issues at all.
However same scenario on a PC, If i have DocumentA open and want to make an iteration I save as DocumentB, and DocumentB does not open, what remains is DocumentA. I then have to close DocumentA drill down to find the newly saved iteration (DocumentB) and then open that and continue to work. As you can see when working fast how this can become confusing.
If you would like I can do a screen capture video to show you. It may be system specific and not the norm on PC hence the reason I am on the forums trying to find out an answer.
Short story: on my PC saving a document does not leave the new document open it leaves the OLD document open. on OSX save as leaves the NEW document open.

Yes, the old album art view is gone, bu you can see the album art for a song that's playing by clicking on the art image and it will open a bigger view.

Software Update doesn't show all updates?

I'm setting up a PowerBook G4 with 10.4, starting with a basic install of 10.4.0 on a blank disk, then using Software Update to tell me what's needed to bring it up-to-date. After a couple of rounds of installations (starting with 10.4.10) and restarts, I began to wonder: Why haven't I seen any AirPort updates in Software Update? The AirPort utilities now installed are v.4.1.1; I have installers for 4.2 and two related items: AirPort Update 2005-001 and Security Update 2006-005. Why doesn't Software Update list these? What else is Software Update not telling me? If I can't count on Software Update to tell me everything I need, what good is it? Anyone have any thoughts?

Well, yes, I guess that's why the installer for Security Update 2006-005 tells me it cannot install because "This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." However, the Combo update does not include AirPort 4.2 or the AirPort Update 2005-001, but Software Update does not suggest installing them, though there's an AirPort Extreme card in the PowerBook (in fact, that's what I'm using to run Software Update). I did install them, but had I been relying entirely on Software Update, I wouldn't have known about them.
